We're FINALLY back, y'all! And now only does this season look good, but the humor, emotion, connection to soooooo much foreshadowing, and enough Daddy Energy to rock the house down -- it has me all kinds of excited for what's to come this season!  

There's a spoiler corner for discussion based on the novel, but let's be real...are there any donghua-only folks left at this point?

Thanks for the reaction and let's go season 2! For someone who's banished twice, exile does look like a lesser punishment......But still, when XL said that, I can almost hear LW going "your highness, really?" in her head. They seem to add more jewel on PM's shoulder armor......and I'm not complaining. As for FX and MQ, we've been holding back for so long before the reveal, and this time you'll finally be joining us ROFL but seriously, these two are doing a sh*t job disguising themselves, they just swapped hair color, become their twink version and called it a day. The same goes to Pei Jr. who just put on a turban and some middle-eastern style clothing......no wonder a certain ghost king gets to go undercover for centuries in heaven. I'm Chinese so the subtitles aren't problem to me, but still I'm stunned that the translation team just goes 'that Deadly scimitar' instead of 'E'ming'. We've been joking in black boxes in discord about how HC would introduce the blade to XL in donghua:"Lian, meet my deadly scimitar, it's big, long, curvy, hard, and likes you very much. Now it's getting all shaky because it wants you to touch it!" That's some TOP LEVEL innuendo LOL My problem with the design of LQQ is that he seems not having much hair......that ponytail is so thin and the chain on his forehead is also a very thin one. In manhua he's also in ponytail but the artist has him with a fringe and a big red ball-shapped accessory to balance it. Actually the same comment can goes to HC's twinksona San Lang whose finger-width side ponytail really makes him look like he's getting bald in 5 years.

Thank you for the kind words and comment! SO READY for season 2! Knowing what we know now, it does make Ling Wen’s sympathetic looks towards XL take on new meaning! And making PM look more bedazzled? YES, PLEASE. HONESTLY, though, it’s LAUGHABLE how bad the heavenly officials are at disguising themselves (except the Wind Master of course!) I’m SO glad I know about MQ and FX NOW, because it would be so hard to not spoil – this episode really made it apparent how they’re not even TRYING. OMG. I feel for E’Ming - Name Shamed. And AHAHAHAHAHA – Oh my GOD THE INNUENDO. JESUS, MXTX. HAHAHA! I agree, LQQ’s hair being SO thin is really unnerving – it’s literally like you said, like they took San Lang’s character model and changed the hair and eye color. Hm. I mean, if that’s all I have to complain about…I guess it could be worse! ;)

It’s so good to be back!!! I think my favorite part of this episode has to be finally seeing Shi Qingxuan animated! HE IS EVERYTHING I HOPED HE WOULD BE!!! I do think that it’s weird how different both his forms are, but I think it would also make sense as to why even Feng Xin didn’t recognize the Wind Master in his female form. I mean, I feel like even up in the Heavens, he would sometimes be in his female form too so there’s no way he wouldn’t recognize her. But because they look so different, it wouldn’t be an automatic recognition, so I thought it works out well! I also can’t believe your timing!!! Just as you’re reacting to the donghua, we get the return of Shi Qingxuan in the novels!!!! Which, I’m so stoked for, I really missed him in the story. But it’ll also be interesting to see the comparisons of then vs. now, especially since you now have the knowledge of the Black Water arc. I’m excited to see how the donghua may hint toward that as well. There were so many added character design details in this episode that had me screaming! Mainly with the Wind Master and Jian Lan. When the Wind Master turns back into a woman, on her waist is what looks like the longevity locket from her brother that shows up during the Black Water arc. The locket that they use to find each other. And Jian Lan can also be seen wearing the golden belt that Feng Xin gifted her all those years ago. Also! When Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan were drinking the wine, the bottle reminded me of Emperor’s Smile from Mo Dao Zu Shi, although, I think the label had different writing. But I feel like that was like a little easter egg for mdzs which was such a cute touch. Ahhh it has me just so excited for this season. My theory for the pacing of this season (and I sincerely hope im proven wrong about this) is that we might speedrun through Gambler’s Den and Gilded Banquet and have the rest of the season be the entirety of Book 2 and Book 4 flashback. Only because I heard a rumor that TGCF may only be three seasons just like MDZS. Again, don’t take my word for it, I just saw that stringing around Twitter/X a few months ago. Idk how many episodes in total we are getting either, but hopefully more than 12…? Only time will tell. But yeah, so hyped for this season and looking forward to your reactions for both the episodes and novel readings!!!

Right?! I’m so happy! OH MY GOSH, Shi Qingxuan is EVERYTHING, RIGHT?! I agree – he’s all that I wanted in anime form! I just love how they’ve animated him! It feels SOOOO Good that the timing has worked out to have SQX back in the story both in the novel and the donghua! LOOOOVE it! And oooh, I didn’t notice the locket! And the golden belt! I need to re-look at that! But yes, I thought about MDZS, too, with the wine-drinking scene! I’m not sure what we’ll get this season, but we shall seeeeeee!
