We really need some relief after all the pain that is book 4. One running joke about black water is that he's being so irritated and wanting to go back when meeting hualian in banyue pass not only because he let crimson rain saw him as a 'she' but also he cannot stand seeing XL's face again after having to spend 12 years with it in the klin. It's like taking an important exam and seeing that the last examinee has carved "gege my love" all over the desk LOL MXTX: so the story of this book takes place in a fictional fantasy world based on ancient China. also MXTX: Idw, I just feel like adding Gundam and EVA stuff somewhere in the plot would be awsome. So HC promised to carve out all the details on the next XL statue, not leaving any blades to be forgotten behind the flowy robes. Does that mean he need to include that blade between the legs? And since he always make sure of the accuracy, does he need to take the measurements before starting to carve? (got bonked into horny jail) But seriously it's so moving to see that once upon a time at the end of book 2, that biggest and most glamrous golden statue of XL didn't hold up the tumbling tower in XianLe capital but this time XL finally managed to break out of the klin with the help a giant stone statue carved by HC. When the statue's running, XL's in the front withHC behind him holding his waist......so, basically being Titanic? (Alexa, play "My heart will go on") And I'd say that statue is basically us, lying on the ground and refusing to move unless Hualian do some energy borrowing(cough, kissing, cough) Little do all the other ghosts going to the klin know that Tonglu Supreme Academy just got blown up by a certain Mr. Xie and his bf aka former student Mr. Hua ROFL Last time JW appears before hualian the two were happily chatting in bed, and this time they're kissing on top of a gigantic statue......poor sky daddy had to witness it all. Maybe it's about time you give Xianle's hand to Crimson Rain Sought Flower sir.

Some of Starember's perspectives are interesting, that one with the coffin scene is definitely one of them. It really does look huge, also it's a very austere coffin which I feel also shows how the Yong'An people felt about the Fangxian Guoshi in that moment. It's a moment of celebration but not for the coffin's occupant, rather that (in their eyes) justice has been done. Your fangirling this chapter set was fantastic! But Hualian really brings that side out in us. They're honestly worse than Wangxian for considering when romantic moments are "appropriate" because of what's going around them. I mean nothing says romantic like fleeing from a terrifying Ghost that pretty much is the root of a lot of both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's traumas. "Gege looks particularly conspicuous right now" understatement of the century there Hua Cheng 🤣 You gotta love the humour Mo Xiang Tong Xiu can slip into these high-paced action scenes. Feels very reminiscent of Jujutsu Kaisen in that these moments of humour don't detract from the scene and don't feel out of place. Xie Lian whipping out the statue's sword only for it to be just a hilt makes me think of The Road to El Dorado when Tulio pulls out a dagger instead of a rapier to 'duel' with Miguel at the beginning of the film 😂 Romania: [about Pei Ming] It feels so good to hear these people! Bet you never thought at his introduction there'd come a time you'd be as happy for his appearance as you are for when Qi Rong kept making random appearances 🤣 Also gotta say that after watching the Japanese dub for Season 1 of the donghua, Pei Ming has risen a little further on my list of favourite characters all because of Suwabe 😅 My baby boy Quan Yizhen is back!!! 🥳 He really is too adorable. Also love he was ready to punch Pei Ming for trying to get between him and his Shixiong but listens to Xie Lian 🥺 The insanity of these chapters feels like a little present to all the readers after surviving Arc 4 😅 Pei Ming (our manwh*re) basically gave Quan Yizhen the consent talk on the guise of "borrowing spiritual powers" 🤣 So much of the events of this chapter could never have appeared on anyone's bingo card! Never apologise for the fangirling. It was great seeing you be so happy with these chapters after how heavy all of Volume 6 was. Also I am amazed at how well behaved Huckleberry and Ruby were whilst you were reading and getting more and more excited the longer the insanity continued. Yin Yu's reaction (or rather lack of one) definitely makes it seem plausible that Hua Cheng has talked about this specific statue in detail multiple times 😆

Honestly, this coming right after Book 4 was NEEDED. AHAHAHA, the idea that the Black Water IMMEDIATELY knows who Xie Lian is and IMMEDIATELY knows HC’s obsession with him is hilarious. Love that! I love that MXTX just adds these fantasy mech elements and does what she wants. You go, girl! Pffffft - that horny jail joke! I mean, you’re NOT wrong, probably, though! That’s a great callback to Book 2’s end, though, as well! And the titanic imagery is SO there! I love how HuaLian is just throwing their business into EVERYONE’S salads. I agree – Jun Wu has gone from “Maybe you shouldn’t hang out with the bad boy,” to “Maybe you shouldn’t play at home with the bad boy” to “Oh, now you’re kissing the bad boy?” *SIGH* I agree, King Triton, let Ariel go. Yeah, it’s really neat to see how Starember portrays that situation; I’ll be curious to see how the donghua handles it! I was VERY happy to fangirl over the HuaLian joy of this chapter set, though! I like the JJK comparison– and HAHAHA the Road to El Dorado – it’s been so long since I’ve seen that movie. But yes, this chapter set is our reward for suffering through Book 4. I was honestly SO WRONG about Pei Ming, it’s almost comical to look back at how mad I was at him in the early parts of Volume 2. And Suwabe elevates ANY character – I need to hear his “Ho Ho” NOW, PLEASE. And the idea that Hua Cheng has mentioned this statue and Yin Yu’s lack of a reaction is hilarious – or maybe Yin Yu was just too worried about Qi Ying! 😛 Speaking of which, Qi Yingggggg! He’s precious and I love how he’s so attentive to XL and PM is literally a guardian to him. Hahaha – it’s weird – some days Ruby and Huckleberry are riled up throughout the reactions and other days they just sleep through them. Corgis are inconsistent as all get out.
