**INTUITIVE HEADPHONE WARNINGS**  

Team Z is up against a new threat, who seems like they have a game plan -- will our rag tag group of strikers be able to have a BETTER counterattack?   

Plus, Isagi befriends Kunigami and starts to question what his own "weapon" in this series is that will give him the edge...and it just might be his own...intuition? Or is it the power of premonition? Or both? As famously quoted, "I can't wait to see how this turns out!"

2023-10-14 11:59:44 Great reaction and discussion!! We got Niko in this one!! And Kunigimi's we saw more depth of Kungimi's character!! (Also, Isagi with those feelings of inferiority... But what protagonist in this type of anime doesn't have them XD) VA dun facts!! Niko is voiced by Natsuki Hanae, the same voice actor as Vanitas and Tanjiro from kimetsu no yaiba! I love Kunigami and how nice he is. Very intense but so nice. And I love how sure of himself but not arrogant he is. Just. We nice boy vibes!! Honest and straightforward. I loved how he was going to trade his curry to Isagi and Igarashi just because they asked him. Of course that was before Chigiri made him a better deal and swayed him with his beauty XD undcjkbdc Its funny that we have opposite opinions on who is more annoying. I found Raichi's shouty personality funny because he just got in everyone's faces but nobody was actually threatened by him and nobody has a problem (with Raichi included) with speaking back at him. He is basically all the bark, no bite in his shouts. Bakugo on the other hand... I really hated Bakugo before later half of season 4, i think. Because Deku WAS actually scared of him and he DID actually harm Deku with his actions and words. I prefer loud person who talks big game and is kinda annoying but doesn't harm anyone rather than competent one who is annoying and harms people in his way. hcbewbvc Sorry for this tangent XD Anyways, returning to blue lock! I love the interaction between Kunigami and Isagi. They are so cute together! Just two cinnamon buns talking to each other. The fist bump of homoerotic sports anime friendship was adorable too!! I have no comparison to the Drag Race because I never watched it, but another show this is reminding me of is Top Model XD Every one is a diva here, just like there and the conditions are also very similar. Just a diva show off!

Your reaction to the Isagi and Kagami scene is such a mood. And IKR Kunigami is LITERALLY Kagami. Even their names are similar, and it’s just the cherry on top that they have the same VA. Kunigami with the steak reminds me of Kagami with the maji burgers. I like the parallel between Kunigami’s and Isagi’s backstories. As children, they watched their role models on TV: Isagi watched Noel Noa, while Kunigami saw strikers as superheroes. Kunigami being serious and shameless about his dream of becoming a soccer superhero reminds me of Kagami’s resolve to becoming #1 basketball player in Japan and also Kagami earnestly saying, “The only times we're fated to lose are in fictional stories. This is our drama! We decide what the plot will be! … This is our story.” But there’s a difference in the others’ reactions: the Seirin members laughed at Kagami and thought that line was lame and corny (it’s a beautiful quote, they just don’t have any taste smh), while Isagi admired Kunigami and thought he was badass. It’s such a genuinely wholesome interaction, I love them. Since Kagami’s your fav, I predicted that you’d love Kunigami especially from this interaction haha. Yessss I was waiting for the Kuroko and Akashi comparisons with Isagi!! When Niko says to Isagi, “You have the same eyes as me,” I’m like, “We can’t see your eyes!” We can’t even confirm if what he says is true lol. And yeah, you’re right, that line “You have the same eyes as me” does remind me of KNB, like Akashi’s Emperor Eye vs Nash’s Belial Eye, and also Kuroko vs Takao, and even Izuki’s Hawk Eye! So many kinds of eyes and perception stuff in KNB lol. Soccer info! Isagi noted that Team Y executed a counter in the game. A counter or counter attack is when the defending team regains possession of the ball and quickly transitions from defense to offense which creates a goal-scoring opportunity before the opposing team can recover into a defensive formation. Like you said, it’s a similar play to when Kuroko gets the rebound or whatever from the opposing team and then does a pass across the court. After Gagamaru scored a goal, Raichi cheered and then stopped and thought, “Huh? Damn, I got all happy over someone else’s goal.” I found it funny and endearing that Raichi realized that he was “out of character” and stopped himself from being happy, which is kinda tsundere-ish? I’ve seen people compare Raichi to Bakugo, but I like to compare him to Inosuke (partially bc they share VAs and) because I think of Raichi as loud and haughty like Inosuke rather than a mean-spirited bully like Bakugo (I’m oversimplifying and I love all 3 of these characters btw.) He's entertaining to me and brings a lot of energy. Plus he’s got his "SEXY SOCCER," whatever that means lol. Niko!! AKA “bastard with bangs” and the “beating heart of Team Y” as said by one of the players. It kinda reminded me of how Kenma is the “brain” of Nekoma. They’re not flashy, but they set up analytical plays for the team. Niko Ikki is voiced by Natsuki Hanae - Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer), Kominato Haruichi (Daiya), Hoshiumi Korai (Haikyuu), Falco Grice (AOT), Vanitas, and shark fiend (CSM). OMG when I found out that Haruichi had the same VA as Niko while watching Daiya. They both have long bangs covering both of their eyes and are soft-spoken. I think it’s interesting that Niko uses the “I” pronoun “boku” (like Kuroko and Haruichi) which is more formal and respectful than “ore” which is what basically all of the BLLK characters shown so far use.

I love that we get more into Kunigami and of COURSE Isagi has an inferiority complex – I mean, he IS a sports anime MC! 😛 Oohhh, that’s nice to know that about Niko VA-wise! Thanks for that! I love that Kunigami is just STRONG – both in heart and body – he reminds me a little bit of Teppei from KNB in a way. Only with less dad jokes. ;) That is hilarious about Bakugo vs. Raichi – no worries; I get where you’re coming from with Bakugo! I’m just not usually into “shouty” characters that have some arrogance to them – but we’ll see about Raichi! Maybe if he quiets down a little I might let him grow on me. ;) Kunigami and Isagi’s interactions were adorable and I love the fist bump of friendship! Just more of that, please! <3 It’s funny you mention Top Model because I haven’t watched THAT series, but I can see that comparison based on what you said! Drag Race is in a LOT of ways diva show offs as well! 🙂

I love that the same VA goes for Kagami and Kunigami – they ARE different enough, but there are so many similarities! Kunigami is like the “tamed” Kagami, honestly! 😛 And the connection between Isagi and him and their childhoods is so special. I love that! And I’m so happy that while in KNB that plot line was seen as corny, Isagi is ALL IN and inspired! I definitely have Kunigami on my radar! Niko wishes he was as badass as Nash; sorry-not-sorry, hahaha!! But yessss, I already enjoy Isagi more than Akashi, haha, but the comparisons are SO intriguing! Thank you for the information on the “Counter” – that’s interesting! That is a fair point about Raichi cheering for Gin and correcting himself - he could SO be tsundere! Ahhh, but the comparison to Inosuke from Demon Slayer seems SPOT ON – nice! And the “Sexy Soccer” catchphrase fits Inosuke waaaaaay more! Ahhh, I can see the connection to Kenma – though, I do like Kenma more, hahaha! He doesn’t come across as arrogant as Niko, but the similarities are for sure there. He has Falco’s VA! Awww!
