**PENULTIMATE HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

This may be content-wise my favorite episode of the season! The magic tricks are "revealed" from the last episode, the gang is all together, and it looks like at least ONE person may die...if not more?!

We get things confirmed, alliances tested, bonds broken, and it's all winding up the roller coaster to (maybe) the last episode next week to see what insanity this series will close out with. I will say, though, for this week? I am STUNNED SPEECHLESS.

little gg

I saw someone commented : the biggest irony is, the person who names after moving forward never moves forward(Qianjin). Even though I was wrong about the theory on Qian's name and character, I'm glad that we found another meaning of it and I really appreciate that.

The start of the episode really felt like a magician revealing his technique. In a lot of shows the 'villains' typically have this big elaborate plan. But I really do love that with Link Click their plans aren't overly complicated and elaborate, but do still have that little extra touch that villains love to add 🤣 Qian Jin shooting Ma for running his mouth I feel is a great set-up moment to keep you on the edge of your seat whilst that gun is in Qian Jin's hands. And then, as a viewer, you feel all the more tense the more you see Qian Jin's calm facade crumble away and he starts to exhibit more and more signs similar to Li Fan during that dinner scene. Rewatching with your reaction I now fully understand Qian Jin's motives. He said he doesn't need substitutes followed by then talking about Cheng Xiaoshi's ability. He wanted Cheng Xiaoshi to change the past and stop his wife from "cheating" so that he wouldn't suspect and kill her, and that he'd no longer have to have a substitute family of three (Qian Jin, Li Tianchen and Li Tianxi). Instead he could have his "true" family of three: Qian Jin, Lisa, and their unborn child. Gotta love Qiao Ling gives Xiao Li a, somewhat calm, reiteration of events from their perspective with the focus on Xiao Li's fellow officers. Lu Guang meanwhile anxiously just asks after Cheng Xiaoshi 🥰 I love them! Also Xiao Li told them not to push themselves if they were in danger...Qiao Ling assented, but Lu Guang kept silent and just stared as if he didn't even hear Xiao Li's words of concern. When it comes to Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang's mind really just focuses on him and him alone 🥺 The reveal about the truth regarding Lisa was so well done. And really quite heart-wrenching. But it shows that with all Qian Jin's talk of trust, he couldn't trust his own wife. And the one who actually committed the betrayal was him when he suspected and murdered her. Lu Guang coming in like a white knight! 🥰 Link Click were truly awful giving us that really emotional moment of Li Tianxi finding her voice again, and using the same sign language her brother taught her long ago 😭 I know the other day I mentioned about the teddy in the OP being a representation of Li Tianxi getting shot, and I've now realised: the teddy Li Tianxi got from the crane game didn't have that round metal button-like thing in it's body, just a darker pink spot on the fabric. But the stuffed animal in the OP does...in the same position as where Li Tianxi gets shot. Damn you show! Your reaction though was just like mine. Took nearly the full ED for me to fully compute what just happened. sqqlbh1314 mentioned in the discord about Li Tianxi getting her own Amanai Riko (from Jujutsu Kaisen) moment. Nice little comparison to make, right? 😭 But yeah the "Who shot Li Tianxi?" gave me such "Who shot J.R.?" from Dallas vibes. I even considered that it was some third party or that *that* was going to be how we were introduced to Liu Xiao's character. I'd make the same Shakespeare comparisons being a Westerner too, but I feel like we can have some leeway with it for Link Click considering Lisa and Zhuang Shuai were performing Romeo and Juliet together at one point. They brought up Shakespeare first 😆 If the fight between Qian Jin and Ma had been staged the only reason I could think is that they somehow knew Lu Guang and Qiao Ling had come into the subway and wanted a way of gathering all the players together. My main issue with that whole scene was that, whilst Ma isn't the smartest cookie it seemed strange that he just kept shooting Qian Jin in the chest, even after realising he had a bulletproof vest on. Especially when his first shot clipped Qian Jin's cheek. Surely the sensible thing would have been to try for a headshot 🤷‍♀ But yeah I think Link Click just had me doubting and questioning everything, and with the Exit Stage Left and all the other theatrical parts to this episode I was definitely overthinking these scenes. Likening Qian Jin to some serial killers 🤣 That is very true! First serial killer that came to mind with this was Jeffrey Dahmer. Also the perspective of Qian Jin as a police officer was all from Xiao Li's point of view. And considering what we know now about Qian Jin killing his wife and setting up Zhuang Shuai as the murderer, we know that Xiao Li is not a reliable narrator for this time in Qian Jin's life. So much pain for you with all these series you're reacting to right now 😅 I shall hope for something not as painful for you to replace some of these.

I think I was frozen at my desk for at least 20 minutes after that ending... I love, love how they animate Tianchen's fighting. Tianchen is considerably smaller and he really moves like he is; lithe, speedy and sneaky. Whereas Cheng Xiaoshi fights with bold strength and determination. This episode gave me a new perspective on Tianchen upon the reveal that he was the one who gave the photo to Lu Guang, "You ignored our cry like others," and "I no longer have a future" is so revealing. From his perspective, I can see why he feels so abandoned and insulted; you gave someone the power to change the most traumatising, horrific moments of your life, and they do nothing. Of course, I'm not blaming CXS or LG, but from Tianchen's perspective, they didn't care to intervene, just like the neighbours and anyone else who might've known about the abuse at home and so now he must take it by force. Ahh it's just such a good episode...

SERIOUSLY, the fight scenes was so good but the build up to that conclusion! And seriously, the reveal of TianChen and the circumstances that led him to give Lu Guang the photo and how desperate he's been this whole time, it definitely adds layers to his character! :') And yes, it's not like Cheng and LG really knew what they were "supposed" to change, and with LG's logic to Cheng, they weren't supposed to change anything...it just makes for.a very messed up situation! But yes, what a good episode! Thanks for the comment!

Yes, I love that Link Click keeps things within the realm of reason! But who doesn’t love an “extra” villain?! 🙂 And YES, Qian Jin shooting Ma just for SPEAKING makes you instantly realize that he is NOT calm and may possibly fly off the handle - a definite callback to the dad of the twins. Yeah, it’s terrifying to see that both he and TianChen wanted Cheng to change the past – *spoilers for episode 12* they should have just called Lu in, eh? ;) It also makes sense with Lu being so anxious about Cheng this entire time…but yeah, just good friends. That’s all. *side eye* At least Lu gets to be the white knight in this moment! YAY! Seriously, these anime and donghua need to get together and make sure we only get ONE shocking headshot per season, please. It was HEARTBREAKING seeing TianXi find her voice only for it to be silenced. Just SHOCKING. UGH, and HOW DARE the show give us that “spot” in the same place she was shot – noooooo, I didn’t realize that! T_T I guess with Ma, in the moment when you’re upset, you do make irrational decisions – maybe that was it? This episode definitely played into the theatrical elements! That’s a fair point, though; the show brought up Shakespeare first! There! Haha! I definitely agree with the Dahmer comparison! Qian Jin in Episode 1 - Oh, what a handsome, mysterious man. Cut to Episode 11 - Oh, no, he’s CRAZY. @_@ Seriously, this last month was FULL OF PAIN. Romania’s gonna be happy when we get some romance and music anime down the line in winter/spring! Hahaha! Maybe sooner! 😛 Thank you for the kind words and comment! One episode to go!
