Oh, y'all! We finish up the season 3 audio dramas (for now) that we can and they are GREAT! Getting insight into Furihata and how he is as a player and person; doing the same with Mayuzumi, and seeing *gasp* Akashi be *doublegasp* supportive and a great captain to his fellow Rakuzan dudes? I'm living for it!  

Plus, we also get an extended audio drama about the post-Shutoku dinner scene and it's as chaotic as one would expect! These audio dramas were so much fun!

I love Kagami and Kuroko's way of helping Furihata to be a little less nervous. I do love being in Furihata's head and seeing him calm down and gain better observation skills. Please yes to Furihata translating for Nigou the way Koganei translates for Mitobe. That'd be adorable. The constructive critcism works for some people, but with how Furihata gets inside his head I'm not sure it's the best method for him to understand how to improve. And I'm glad Izuki points that out to Hyuuga later on. Honestly love that it's kind of a bigger deal that Furihata noticed Kuroko's condition when even *Kagami* didn't. Yes Kagami did say "bankai". Though Bleach's bankai is spelt with these kanji 卍解, this bankai (to mean recovery) is spelt with these kanji 挽回. For pronunciation however, from what I know, there's little to no difference in how to say them (Bleach's bankai might have a slightly hard 'ban' than this one). Kuroko just throwing shade at Kagami and then throwing him under the bus by making him cook for the three of them. Really feels like Furihata had to come along so as us shippers didn't turn it into a romantic dinner date at Kagami's house. Furihata is the Mum of the First Years with him noticing things and carrying band aids around. The Japanese really do like to use ketchup as marinade or base for a sauce. Romania: Why is there Akashi's music with the eggs? So as we ship him and Furihata more. Maybe when cooking eggs he becomes more intense like Akashi. For fluffy and syrupy eggs I'll try to find a video and send it to you on discord. Basically it's meant to be the best way to make omurice. The plate being huge just makes me think that Kagami actually has a big plate for himself and smaller plates for when Kuroko (and others) visit. I love Izuki taking Furihata under his wing 🥺 *** "Uncrowned Generals" is the exact translation for Uncrowned Kings' title from Japanese. Mayuzumi's really feels like a light novel with him as the narrator of his very own story. Very fitting for him. But interesting that he seems to see himself as a protagonist, whereas the other Sixth Man Kuroko seems to consider himself more as a background character (according to Kise's analysis). "Nobody has ever talked so highly of me before" um, Mayuzumi? I think you need to get better friends or confront some family members if *that's* what you consider being thought well of. That or find something you enjoy, and try a little more, to gain better praise than Akashi's first conversation with you. Mibuchi's voice changes just the slightest when he's ticked off by the others 😂 You calling Hayama and Nebuya as somewhat mean for saying all those things about Mayuzumi whilst he's right there, Seirin were a similar way with Kuroko at the start. It's definitely interesting seeing Rakuzan forming into a team, and Akashi being a lot more like a captain than the few examples we see in the anime. Also very interesting the mirror image of Rakuzan getting used to playing with Mayuzumi with his passes and lack of presence, to seeing Seirin do the same with Kuroko in the anime. "That's his business" really showing that Akashi didn't have someone on Rakuzan like he had Nijimura back on Teiko to help him, nor how the others all have Keepers on their individual teams. Akashi just has all these character files on his teammates. Akashi talking about wanting Mayuzumi to be able to adapt to the change in how the three Uncrowned Kings will play in a match, it really reminds me of Kuroko's first game and it taking a bit for Akashi to realise that Kuroko had a timing issue for passing to the others during actual games/practice matches with other teams. This intimate conversation between Mayuzumi and Akashi...if we'd had this interaction in the anime that ship would possibly have been my favourite for Akashi. *** Akashi and Himuro having the same lecture to give Murasakibara...🥰 Although not the youngest, Murasakibara is definitely the one that seems to be treated the most like a big kid. Hayama, Nebuya, and Mibuchi trying to teach Akashi about being proper teammates, and helping him through his concerns about Murasakibara 🥺 Would have been so much better to get this kind of interaction in the anime. I love Mibuchi being able to explain to Akashi that Murasakibara just wanted someone to listen to him rant...especially considering Murasakibara ranted about Akashi et al with Kuroko. Imagine we'd gotten this softness in Season 3! We really did need more post-Winter Cup to see a proper change with Akashi's character. So for the Uncrowned King's nicknames Mibuchi's the Yaksha is a kind of demon; Nebuya's Gourikii translates to Herculean strength; and Hayama's Raijuu is basically the Lightning Beast, the issue with that is that it really does sound very close to Raichuu. But such a cute lightning Pokemon fits Hayama so well! 😆 Akashi just becoming an Agony Aunt for Hayama, Nebuya, and Mibuchi was *not* on my Bingo Card for these audio dramas. I like Akashi being observant enough to have seen that Nebuya's burping was just the first thing Mibuchi could think of to say as bothering him. It's really an intriguing part of Mibuchi's character that he didn't feel comfortable saying it in front of Hayama and Nebuya, but that he does feel okay to unburden his worry to Akashi alone. Also Akashi saying that the loss is on all of them 🥰🥺 Definitely makes me ship them all the more. Kuroko calling Akashi to get all the details 🥺 Kuroko totally listened to Murasakibara's rant, distracted him from what he was annoyed about whilst also providing a chance for Murasakibara and Akashi to make up. For that fanart of Akashi and Kuroko the height difference is probably because Akashi's in his Rakuzan uniform so therefore he's in High School, whereas Kuroko is in his Teiko uniform so it's him in Middle School. *** I'm so glad we got extended scenes from when they went to the Okonomiyaki restaurant. With how adaptable Kuroko is I really do think he would get along best with Kasamatsu. Midorima said "Oi" but didn't deny that he was crying! Yet another line that should not be taken out of context (Takao saying you have to be flexible around Midorima) 👀 Oh god Midorima's one of those kinds of eaters! To be fair with some things I'd be the same, but the way he reacted was rather over-the-top. Interesting that Kuroko and Midorima ordered the same type of okonmiyaki... So we got cooking episode with Kagami, Kuroko, and Furihata, and now we're getting the same with Midorima. Midorima and Kagami definitely have some similarities. Though Kagami 'winning' on making a perfect okonomiyaki over Midorima linking nicely with Oha Asa saying that Cancers had very poor compatibility with Leos. That slight jazz/elevator music during Kasamatsu talking about captaining and having a Generation of Miracle on the team is an interesting choice. Koganei and Mitobe's co-ordinating skills are on a whole other level. Throwing of the okonomiyaki...they're all going to get chucked out of this restaurant! Kuroko putting an end to the crazy food fight by just passing the okonomiyaki into Kagami's mouth has to be one of the wackiest things that have happened in these audio dramas. But Kuroko being concerned about Kagami being unconscious 🥺
