**COUNTERED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**  

Part 2 of our story with Detective Tatsumi and Shimada and WOW, the philosophical intrigue and thriller aspects of this series get dialed up to an ELEVEN in this episode! It was heartbreaking!  

I definitely feel for Decim, the black-haired girl, and pretty much all parties involved...this series is not afraid to have a bleaker, bittersweet ending to it...an we still have three episodes to go.

This was too too sad, but really thought provoking. I liked the image of the detective and black-haired girl as the angel and devil on Shimada's shoulder, tugging at his soul, even tough it was devastating that the devil won. I also love that we have a main character who still remains nameless as we approach the season finale. I'm sure that means something, even if I can't quite put my finger on it. Thanks for another awesome reaction!

2023-06-14 03:26:40 This 2-parter is really excellent - one of my favourite things about this series is how well they do with layering complexity into presenting tiny facial expressions and then changing their context as more is revealed. e.g. In the previous episode, how Shimada's and Tatsuyi's eyes become just slightly askew after the first memories are regained. In this episode, all the focus on the eyes and then ultimately the smile, etc. Paced brilliantly. Also, would recommend dub for these 2 specifically - they frame some things slightly differently, especially towards the end of this one in a way that is more impactful, I think. Thank you for the great discussions. Really looking forward to the final episodes. =)

Yesssss, this two-parter was a tour de force in putting you through the wringer with the layers and the reveals as they happen! That SMILE - ugh, it creeps me out so much - ooohh, that is interesting to note about the dub -- I will definitely check those out! This episode was fantastic. The plottwist that it's Tatsumi that was "the friend". I don't think the sister was wrong for saying she wishes her assaulter was dead and for having these feelings. It probably was really because it just happend and she didn't mean for her brother to actually go and kill them. Do I completely blame Shimada for stabbing the pucks at the end? No. But I wish he wouldn't have done it so he could reincarnate and be with his sister someday again. After the first part I really didn't expect Tatsumi to turn out the way he did. What he did is just so messeo up. I just really love how the series writes their characters. How human they are, so complex and not black and white. It's just great. It's creepy, it's shocking bit also really thought provoking. Wish you a wonderful day!

What a crazy plot twist, right?! We find out Tatsumi WAS connected and it's so disturbing! Yeah, I agree that I can understand why the sister said that, and she probably had no idea he brother would ACTUALLY go out and find them -- I agree, too, I get why Shimada did it, but I hate that it ruined his chances for him to be with his sister again. The entire episode was really a psychological dive into these characters! SO crazy and complex, but I really enjoyed it as well! Thank you for the comment and have a great day, too! :D
