The random pop-up ads on Kamei's computer immediately give you such a realistic view of the show, mixed with the crazy rich side for Daisuke. The OP is great and always gives me such 007 James Bond mixed with modern Sherlock vibes. Daisuke is just too cool for school. The way he's uncaring of causing all that damage and then dropping a billion yen on a car, it's such a great contradiction with Haru's character. Yet both have a sense of responsibility, just they show it in different ways (Haru through his actions, Daisuke through his money). For the conversion in regards to the cost of the car, I believe where the prince is from they use the UAE Dirham. But I think when the prince says 300 million he says 300 million yen. In which case he got given ¥700 million as change. Just before the ED starts (which is a total bop, in my opinion) there's a balance report for all the spending done in each Episode. Adds another hint of realism to it all even though it's with astronomical figures. The anime I believe is based on a novel series, but there is no official English translation and I'm unsure if there are any fantrans either. Seiyuu in this Episode (barring Miyano Mamoru and Oonuki Yuusuke): Kumagai Kentarou who voices Kamei (and has also voiced Usami Aoba from the Free! movie Take Your Marks; as well as Jimmy from Yarichin) Takahashi Shinya who voices the one that was doing the horse racing (and has also voiced several characters in Vinland Saga) Enoki Junya who voices Hoshino (and has also voiced characters such as Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen; Rengoku Senjurou from Kimetsu no Yaiba; as well as Jotaro from KazeTsuyo) Okitsu Kazuyuki who voices HEUSC (and has also voiced Miri's biological father in Buddy Daddies; Masa from Gokushufudou; Toyomitsu from My Hero; as well as Yuki from KazeTsuyo)

I haven't seen this in awhile but it'll be fun re-watching it with you! That OP is one of my favorites, I think. Very James Bond and Sherlock mixed together. Also I believe this anime is based off novels and was even a Japanese drama at one point, so it definitely gives off that kind of silly detective type vibe. I don't remember much of the anime, so this will be a good refresher.

I get Sarazanmai nostalgia everytime I see that studio intro. A short anime I can recommend. I actually wasn't too excited when I saw this won the poll since it was something that didn't stuck in my mind but now I'm actually having lots of fun already. It's been so long I forgot how crazy the first episode was. I forgot almost everything except here and there a little moment. I also wasn't expecting Kamei to have a crush on this middle(?) aged woman but I'm all here for it. That was a pleasant suprise. Kanbe is such a little shit. Him just smiling when Kato hangs there on the bridge. They for sure will "not" get along. XD Lot's of seiyuu's in the first episode. So Kato is voiced by Mamoru Miyano. Kanbe's voice actor, Oonuki Yuusuke, actually only voiced him. Hoshino is voiced by Enoki Junya who voiced Jotaro in Run with the wind and Itadori in JJK. Kamei is voiced Kumagai Kentarou who did Aoba Usami in Free and Fujisaki in Yarichin. Hirochi is voiced by Mizushima Takahiro who voiced Natsuhiko in Hanako-kun. Yoko is voiced by Yoko Hikasa who did Utahime in JJK, Horn Skuld in Seraph of the end, Frieda in Attack on Titan and Irene in Moriarty the patriot. Wish you a wonderful day!

Ahh, I've had Sarazanmai recommended, but I try not to know much of the plot of series I potentially might see, so please no more info! :) I like to be SURPRISED with a series I potentially react to! I LOVE the OP and all the vibes it gives and I didn't even realize the pop ups on Daisuke's computer...but...WHY?! It's YOUR invention!? Hahahaha! That is a good note about how the two show their sense of responsibility at this point -- still, that's INSANE about the car! And that balance report is ridiculous as well! I'm really sad there's not an English translation of the books! T-T And then ahhhhh, thank you for the voice actor info -- I looked up Haru and Daisuke's for Episode 2, but didn't have the others! :D Thank you for that info and the comment! :) :)
