It's finally HERE, everyone! The final Free! movie installment and the wait was WORTH IT! I'm ready to sit down with some mango juice, my swimsuit, and do the backstroke through the final relay of this series, celebrating hot anime boys, melodramatic trials of nakama, and the end of a 10-year franchise!  

I can't wait to talk with you all about this film because there is a LOT going on  and a lot to discuss! Hooray for one of my comfort anime going out on top!

Thanks for the reaction! It's been a long journey :-) Personally I had very mixed feelings about the Final Stroke movies, so I'm super interested to hear your discussion and get another perspective on them! (and hopefully appreciate them a little more haha). Regardless, I'll always have a lot of fondness for these characters, and I love that we've gotten so much Free content over the years - I still remember the huge hype over the original 30-second "swimming boys" commercial and how it fueled an entire fandom before the first series came out. I never would've thought we'd go from there all the way to middle school, to high school, to college, to being professional athletes, so credit to the series for attempting that evolution when not many others get the chance.

I definitely understand the mixed feelings -- there's definitely things that I think could have been handled "differently," but I was just happy to celebrate the final film with our boys and the fondness I've developed for all of them! One of my favorite aspects of the franchise is them literally "growing up" alongside us; I agree, more sports anime should do this! Thank you so much for the kind words and comment!
