**Headphone Warnings**

I remember these episodes being some of the hardest to watch when I first saw the anime...over a year later, they are still GUT WRENCHING. RIP Levi Squad...and hello, foundation of Eren's mentality towards MANY things in this series!

There are some subtle differences between the manga and anime here, but the pain is still VERY much present; we only now get so much more insight looking back at this part of the story...setting the stage for SO MUCH in the future!

Thank you all for reading with me and the support!

Armin feeling much more pointed here in his defense of the "ends justifying the means" way of thinking. Even straight up calling Erwin (potentially) evil, got a real sense of some Floch energy here, seeing that "necessary" work of their devil. Now we of course knows that Armin and Floch will somewhat diverge in how much... "means" they are willing to accept. Before you said it in volume 6 i was thinking the same thing, Isayama probably had a lot of fun drawing titan Annie (and Eren) here, this far some of the best and dynamic panels he has done. The people drawing the anime probably saw that too, while many things are very similar manga to anime, things just framed differently or characters that don't quite looking the same, but here it feels almost that every panel of titan Annie/Eren was exactly translated. I feel they really made it so (almost) each panel of Annie/Eren was a frame somewhere in the animation of the anime.

Ooohhhh, that's so good, bringing Floch up at this point who saw Erwin as a "potentially evil" character -- only whereas Armin saw past how he "seems evil" to Floch fully believing it -- it's so crazy to see similarities here between them but that's a great point about the "means" with each of them! I LOVED the artwork in this volume and yes, I agree that the animators must have agreed with how good it all looked, since the anime is such a faithful adaptation in this volume. Thank you for the comment -- SO excited for volume 8 this week!
