Our mysterious black-haired girl is now assisting Decim (whose name I FINALLY get pronounced correctly - I think) in managing this bizarre limbo where people play games to determine their fates beyond death.   

And in this episode we have another pair of individuals who may know each other from the past -- the question is, once they remember who they "are," will their relationship change for the better or devolve like our first couple's did?

This was a nice breather after the heavieness of the first two episodes. It still had a sad undertone but wasn't so brutaly heartbreaking and fucked up. Ohhh, I never saw that but it would make sense if the creaters chose the games based on the characters. That makes a lot of sense. Now I'm also interested to see if that fits with the future ones as well. I loved that her face warps back when she's in the elevator. Mai is voiced by Ichimichi Mao who does Alisa Haiba in Haikyuu and Thyma in Promare. And Shigeru is voiced by Majima Junji who did Chiba in Assasination Classroom and a smaller character in Haikyuu (Takehito).
