I thought these two chapters wouldn't give me much to talk about but I was WRONG! Oh, so wrong! This set of chapters was CRAZY GOOD -- surprise shenanigans, Hua Cheng topless, and FINALLY! EXPOSITION AND EXPLANATIONS!  

And our chaotic roller coaster journey is taking us to new lands with new (and familiar) faces and I am REALLY getting excited for this volume, now! As if I wasn't before!

Waking up to find a hole in your bedroom floor through which four heavenly officials come through and stand around talking would be so damn confusing! Especially if you were having a really nice (and needed) nap. If I could I'd be chucking a bed at Pei Ming for then commanding me too! The official art is adorable. Also, Pei Ming should be used to breaking beds... The beginning of this chapter is just hilarious and a complete comedic skit. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's a fever dream because the chaos just goes on and on. First time I read this Qi Rong calling himself Guzi's Daddy sent me over the precipice. Definitely had to pause reading more because I was laughing so hard I was crying and ended up with sore ribs. Also Xie Lian, that suffocating feeling possibly got anything to do with Hua Cheng being half-naked rather than the people that had previously all been in the Puqi Shrine before (only now Shi Qingxuan doesn't have their spiritual power and so their presence is likely a tad diminished from before)... Poor Ming Yi and Shi Qingxuan becoming very acquainted with how it feels to be a third (and fourth) wheel. All the tea being spilled on the events of Shi Qingxuan's actual ascension, and I can imagine Hua Cheng's just sat eating popcorn and enjoying the show. I honestly love him so much. The information does give you context to Shi Wudu's actions/comments but that information doesn't excuse him for treating Shi Qingxuan the way he does. Just when you thought the ghosts within this story were horrifying enough we get the added terror of cannibalistic ghosts that can increase their power and abilities by devouring other ghosts. But I did giggle at you saying that Qi Rong's too into eating people so he's off the list of suspects for potentially having done so. Not much information on the Rain Master yet but you just know they're amazing considering how it changes Pei Ming's typical brusque responses. But yes it is interesting that Pei Ming is willing to go there to help out Shi Wudu, but *not* for Pei Su. I've told you before but your fortitude to not binge read is honestly crazy strong to me. I definitely could not hold off. Just way too many cliffhangers, especially in this volume. Give me *all* the dick jokes for Pei Ming! He's growing on you like a fungus. With The Addams Family comparison does that make Ming Yi Lurch and Shi Qingxuan Thing? "[Hua Cheng] might corner him against a wall" not you immediately making me think of Hua Cheng kabedon-ing Xie Lian. I need some fanarts now! Love the image of Bai Wuxiang as Oogie Boogie! And now I want to watch The Nightmare before Christmas. Also want Modern AU fanart of Hua Cheng as Jack Skellington and Xie Lian as Sally (with his shackles instead of Sally's stitches). Also adds another Disney movie to our TGCF/Disney comparisons!

Thanks for the reaction! The chapter begins with a d*ck joke and is filled with shameless ghost king and shocking reveals ROFL. PM chased after the trio only to be smashed by QYZ, while I'm sure he got smashed all the time in bed, this would be the first time he got hit BY a bed. IIRC during the FangXin Guoshi arc we found out that QR is the one responsible for spreading the rumors that PM want Pei Jr. to take the place of QYZ but since this is never clarified by PM, I have every reason to believe that's also on his mind. And my bet is on that he overlooks the trio so he has the patience to be polite with them. Let's not forget he nearly chopped XL's D off and he only began reasoning with the other party when he found out it's SQX (now a mortal), MY (elemental master, not sure good at fighting or not) and XL (former martial god but shackled up) The whole part where they got back to the Puji shrine is one big fanservice LOL. XL and HC has so intense gay aura surrounding this place even MY got disturbed during his array-drawing process! His rounds are no longer round because of gayness! The cat's officially out of the bag, SQX's ascension is abnormal in the first place and it's time to pay back. But I just can't help laughing that HC is bored to hell by this story, he'd be that kind of guy that falls asleep in the theater despite all the suspense on the silver screen. Ascension comes from fate so either you work hard enough or the event drives you into making critical decisions, good or not. In Pei Jr.'s case he slaughtered the Ban Yue kingdom but judging from another angle, his decision saved many Yong An people from getting bombed so it's like more good that bad? PM arrived at the village only to be held at the boundary by the ox, who also happens to be another handsome shirtless guy. We sure get loads of abs in these chapters and I'm NOT complaining.

Thank you for the kind words and comment! AHAHAHAHA – that PM joke about being “smashed” in bed and then with a bed – I love that PM’s character is 80% D-jokes and 20% ridiculousness! Okay — I forgot about the rumors on PM wanting Pei Jr. to take QYZ’s place were started by QR! Thank you for reminding me about that! The Puqui Shrine is JUST HILARIOUS – I love that XL and HC’s flirting has become SO obvious to EVERYONE…except for Xie Lian! @_@ And HC just being like, *yawn* is so hilarious! Come on, HC! We need to help the Wind Master! Ehhhhh, I’m never one to consider “slaughtering others” as favorable, so I can’t agree that Pei Jr’s decision was “more good than bad;” it was a complicated situation all around with no “good option.” But it’s clear that Pei Jr. didn’t WANT to do what he did, and probably has some regrets, so I can still like his character despite the decision. And YES, MXTX is gifting us with alllll the handsome, shirtless moments and I’m LIVING for it! Thank you so much for the kind words and comment – SO READY for next week!

To be fair, I’m glad that QYZ takes things as good as they do! And Pei Ming being used to breaking beds, BWAHAHAHAHAHA – MXTX knows what they’re doing. Qi Rong has accepted his fate and he’s so STUBBORN, he refuses to leave the dad’s body and has just accepted he has a child now and that he needs massages. It’s ridiculous and that line of dialogue kills me EVERY TIME I read it. I feel the Wind Master and MY are accepting of their 3d/4th wheel status, especially since they have each other. And HC honestly doesn’t care they’re there, because they aren’t interested in XL that way…and aren’t threats, hahahaha! XL’s realization that he’s possibly - maybe - into HC sexually and his brain hasn’t caught up with it yet is hilarious and sooooo frustrating! It’s like WWX to another LEVEL! And HC needs to Kabedon XL STAT! I need the fan art! Shi Wudu is not my favorite in the series because of how he’s treated his brother, despite the reasons behind it. But at this point, I’m just worried about him FOR the Wind Master. I feel Pei Ming is FIERCELY loyal to those he considers worth it - “Bros before hoes” - but it does say something about Pei Jr. I feel considering how the Rain Master “messed up” his last descendents’ chance at greatness, when it comes to Pei Jr. he wasn’t going to go near the Rain Master AT ALL. Pei Ming growing on me like a FUNGUS. UGH. So true, but also….ew. Hmmmm, with the Addams Family, the Wind Master could be Cousin “It,” and Maybe Ming Yi could be Lurch? :P I just need BWX back in this story at some point – I miss that Hot Mess Horror Express in the weirdest of ways. But Also, I need NBC fan art with the TGCF crew! Ruoye could be a version of Zero! 😛Let’s add it to the list! Thank you for the kind words and comment!
