We are SO CLOSE to the end of Volume 3, and it's been a JOURNEY, but this set of chapters is domesticated "bliss(?)," as Hua Cheng pays Xie Lian a visit to try and help exorcise Qi Rong, as Xie Lian tests out his culinary skills...  

...just in time for none other than the Windmaster and Earthmaster to arrive! The Windmaster has a BIG problem, and it looks like Xie Lian may be the only one who can help them! The mystery and detective work never ends for our cinnamon bun deity, does it?

Thanks for the reaction! The fight between E-Ming and Ruoye really reminds me of those scenes when a couple finally decides to live together and their pet dogs fighting over 'who does master love more', while Fangxin sword was like the old cat lying on the top of the cupboard and be like 'nah, I want none of this nonsense' HC praising XL's cooking is just like XL complimenting HC's calligraphy. Guess love does make one blind...and unable to tell taste. Wind Master: "The situation is alarming and I have this awful monster chasing me, but how about I cross-dress with my buddy to ask for help and sit down for some food before getting to the point? Also, I need to make the story-telling part as spooky as possible!" That's the mood my baby, that's the mood. HC telling Guzi that he's a very bad person reminds me of some of my relatives who just enjoy freaking out kids, telling them stuff like "If you don't be good, I'll transform into a big bad wolf and eat your toes in the middle of the night". And I'd say it's not that surprising that he favors Guzi over Lang Ying. As far as we know Guzi is just some random human kid whose father is possessed, but Lang Ying is at least someone from the Yong An, which took over Xian Le hundreds of years ago……

Edit - So far we have known two swords that Jun Wu has collected, the Virgin revealing sword and the Ghost revealing sword (shown in S1 of the donghua which he gave to XL during his first ascension). I love how he has a collection of swords like how some otaku collects figures or mangas. Maybe he is a sword otaku XD

loved the video as you mentioned, it is interesting how at first you don't really notice how HC is antagonistic to LY, but in comparison to Guzi who is genuinely an innocent kid and who he is kind to, the difference is startling QR basically became the funny side character who just pipes up every now and then to bitch at everyone Ruoye + Eming at the beginning: gege gege look at me gege gege I loved how openly antagonistic HC is once Windmaster and Earthmaster arrive also funny how they mentioned once that Windmaster drags others to go out in female forms and that the Earthmaster does not particularly like to, so it's interesting that the Earthmaster showed up as a female this set of chapters really makes you understand SWD a lot more - that he isn't just a nagging older brother, but that he's overprotective considering that godhood is the only thing protecting SQX (I think they said that ascension protects them)

There's definitely a reason why HC is not "warm" towards YL; the question is if it's a more personal reason, like he's jealous of the attention he gets, or if it there's more to it! And Ruoye and E'ming competing for XL's attention like a pair of dogs! hahaha! QR as a side show bob now with his heckling -- who knew we'd be here with this character, either?! And yessss, HC seems to put on a good face for his love, but he shows a little more of his dark side towards the Wind and Earth Masters! The Earth Master is a big ol' tsundere that doesn't want to admit they like the WM and wants to please them. :3 And yeah, I always have thought that he's an overprotective and nagging brother, so that wasn't too surprising to me, but getting the context is nice. I still don't like his character and how he doesn't let his brother be who he wants, but we'll talk about that in a few weeks. :) Thanks for the comment!
