**Possible Headphone Warning**

Einar learns that the "right way" to be a slave doesn't come without its hardships, and poor Thorfinn seems to have completely given up hope on life itself. Can Einar reignite the spark in Thorfinn as he reveals how similar he is to our blonde young man? And what of this mysterious crush Einar INSTANTLY develops?

Olmar is a FASCINATING character introduced as well, that gives us important exposition, and seems more connected to Thorfinn himself than initially believed. Lots of good set up in this episode and things to talk about!

Enjoyed the reaction, although this was not my favorite episode. Like you say, lots of set up. The differing perspectives (optimism versus pessimism) of Thorfinn and Einar despite similarly tragic pasts, to me, demonstrates the importance of having support through tough times. Einar's mom was a saint and, although I know you like Askeladd, he just used Thorfinn. Given all the time we spend on Olmar here, you get the feeling he's going to have a meaningful role down the line. Thanks!

Yes, I agree; it seems Olmar will hopefully have a bigger role to play this season, and I'll be curious what we get out of him! There is definitely a difference between Einar and Thorfinn's experience -- I never really thought to compare Einar's mom to Askeladd -- I was more comparing the two moms or Einar's mom to Thors, but that's interesting. Oh yeah, I know that Askeladd is NO saint and have said all along he used Thorfinn -- that doesn't make him any less compelling as a character, to me, though. :) Thanks for the comment! I agree, lots of set up and usually episodes like this lead to a good pay off, so I'll be curious to see what we get!
