We are finishing up the audio dramas from Season 1 this week! These had some HILARIOUS moments, especially the ones involving Kiyoshi and Hyuga -- AND we learn that Aomine may have a secret soft spot...but towards what, pray tell?  

Next week, we'll round out the Season 1 "extra" goodies with character songs before diving into Season 2! I'm very excited to be getting closer to the new season! Happy New Year!

2022-12-31 00:25:10 YO! I did well with this set, While I was editing that space image, I was literally calling out loud about how I'm a comedic genius. 9 more to do before the next season :DDD?? I do totally agree that some of these very repetitive and when I'm editing these at the pace of "5min of audio=20-30min of work time" or smt like that, it's was pretty exhausting with some of them... But I have to say, I'm 1 and a half episode's into the s2 audios... they're just getting better. My own personal favourite one was the one with Midorima.. am I biased? maybe. But there's just something so adorable about him, knowing ALL the things about random toys, spending money like it's free, and not being above lying to get his way. (and Takao being absolutely done with Midorima is *chef's kiss*) There were quite a lot of references to like, actual things in this. So I'm explaining them all, since I don't know which ones you know and which ones you didn't. - Gultraman a parody of Ultraman, which is a Japanese sci-fi/super hero Tv show. And Mogura was a mole looking enemy from it. - The Kowa Company has a frog mascot named “Kero-chan” (Kerosuke is the frog Midorima is carrying when he makes his first appearance in the manga/anime); the Sato Pharmaceutical Company has an elephant mascot named “Sato-chan” - Katy-chan is a parody of Hello kitty ofc, (I just Imagine Midorima going around with a hello-kitty phone strap, so cute) - Noraemon is Doraemon - Nill marks is a parody of Bullmark, a Japanese toy company - Pandai is Bandai - And peter is probably a parody of Peter the goatherd from Heidi about the Kagami Drama, it was actually the drama first and the OVA second, because when they couldn't fit the actual anime due to the episode limit, they decided to put the chapter in the drama DVD's, Only like a WAYYY later they got the change to make it into an OVA. My fav part about the DVD has to be Izuku's "Pythagoras dance" or whatever the fuck he was doing. Also something that I find personally interesting, is that in the OVA it's Kagami who does the "aren't glasses guy meant to be smart"-joke, but in the Drama it's Kuroko. This is something that became more apparent while editing these, to me at least, but Kuroko has this tendency to just give out random lines in between that are very,,, What's it in English... (google tells me the word I'm looking for is "snide" but I have honestly no trust in google with translation stuff so I'm not even trying.) And stuff, but he's very savage with those comments he makes ("is that a coping mechanism") The Aomine one was great, repetitive a bit. But as someone who enjoys Aomine x Sakurai, the bento part was a treat. As well as Imayoshi x Aomine possibility was quite cute as well, my multishipper's heart approves. The Teppei Drama wasn't a personal favourite of mine due to all the chasing, and it felt very repetitive. BUT the small moments of them Kuroko and Izuki talking about Hyuuga <3 mah heart. ALSO Izuki’s seiyuu, Nojima Hirofumi, voices Tetsuya Nigou in the anime and drama CDs and also voices the cat in this CD. In the cast comment track, he jokes about becoming known as the “Animal Seiyuu” By which btw, I can send links to the translated cast comments (they made cast comment tracks for the drama DVD's), since some of them are just hilarious. The last one was a journey. I'm so proud of how the space part turned out. Can't wait for the character songs next week. Happy New Year, since the next video ain't here till 2023 <3

Anime Annie

That "Uh...Shin-chan? You okay?" gave me such Cool Runnings vibes of "Sanka...ya dead mon?" I love how though Takao doesn't believe in any of this superstitious stuff but he still willingly tags along and tries to help Midorima. Boss music coming in for Midorima dropping the cash 🤣 An arcade is *such* a date spot! Midorima!!! Liar, liar, pants on fire. And now he's kidnapping Kuroko! This OT3 seriously came out of the left wing. Damn random player taking out Midorima and preventing them from all going on a dinner date together. But I love that Takao decided to go out for food with Kuroko anyways, This entire episode was such chaos! I crammed when I was in school but also took breaks to sleep and eat. Without sleep you can't properly retain the information you're learning. But hearing Kagami struggling with kanji, I feel his pain. I love that Midorima says he doesn't get along with Kuroko and yet out of everyone Kuroko is the only one we know that Midorima gave the special pencil to. The trust Kuroko has in Kagami 😍🥰 Smart boy Sakurai, providing Aomine food to make sure he doesn't get angry at him. So Sakurai basically thinks Aomine is a cat, moving from sunspot to sunspot in order to get the perfect napping spot. Momoi taking the opportunity to call up Kuroko and flirt with him...right in front of Imayoshi and Sakurai! 😂 Aomine's got a sixth sense for people coming to disturb his napping spots! Your happiness at Aomine and Nigou meeting! It's so adorable 🥺 His soft side is still there...just hidden below many many layers of angsty teen. But Aomine's line to Kuroko over the phone felt sooo flirty! Kiyoshi bringing up the sensible things: Kise's modelling, Midorima's lucky item, Kagami's stomach, and Kuroko not being good for elderly people's hearts. I love that Izuki is the one that puts on the creepy voice, and that Hyuuga is the scaredy-cat. And Kiyoshi and Kuroko just keep scaring both of them! In high school I admit I was Izuki, though not a scaredy-cat. But these audio dramas are really showing off Hosoya's voice acting abilities. "Just stay where I can see you" sounds like *such* a line from a shoujo romance anime/manga! 🤣 But at the same time Hyuuga really sounds like a stressed parent the longer the episode goes on for everything to do with Kiyoshi. "OT3 vibes?" Immediately begins with Kiyoshi asking Hyuuga to be his Valentine 🤣 I snorted so hard when you said "I want to be in a threesome with you!" 🤣🤣🤣 Gotta love these supportive men. Multiple near-death experiences/being accidentally drugged and still encouraging Riko and being positive for her! 🥺 But that attempt of making the chocolate I felt so bad for Hyuuga. Riko and Kiyoshi are really so scatter-brained. Definite OT3!!! But yeah, it was all cutesy and then we get the horror music. Poor boys sound like they were high to the gills having those out-of-body experiences. "Next Valentine's Day..." *cue Psycho music* Hyuuga really just getting dragged along by Riko and Kiyoshi 🤣 Kuroko wanting to go to space together with Kagami...sounds like someone was a little jealous of Hyuuga and Kiyoshi's shared experience! My favourite was probably Kise, Kasamatsu, Kagami and Kuroko. I'm a sucker for the misunderstanding trope and so many other tropes we got in that one episode. Yay for character songs next week! Can't wait for it.

Hahaha, relating back to Cool Runnings; Love it! And yes, Takao tagging along with Midorima and the boss music – Takao knows Midorima is loaded, which is HILARIOUS! And yessss, Arcade date and a new OT3! :) The chaos was insanity and I really enjoyed it! Poor Kagami, I felt for him – and yesss, Kuroko knows a lot of dirt on Midorima; maybe that’s why he doesn’t like him! Hahaha, but yes, more trust-building between Kuroko and Kagami; we love to see it! Aomine is VERY cat-like, which fits Kagami and Midorima’s personalities, oddly enough (Kise and Kuroko seem like dog people on the opposite spectrum). But then, Aomine really likes Nigou, so…maybe he’s catlike, but likes dogs? Is there hope for Kagami yet?! Haha! Such flirty vibes from Aomine…SERIOUSLY! Hyuga being a scaredy-cat is so in-character and makes sense! :) But SERIOUSLY, Hosoya is getting to flex with these audio dramas; as if I couldn’t like him MORE. *sigh* And yes, Hyuga rides that sweet, sweet line between teenage-adult-parenting-the-”children” and shojo-romance-protagonist-that-is-put-through-hell and I love it! Kiyoshi continues to be a joy, too! The OT3 vibes as well – I mean, they could be a threesome and I don’t think Riko would MIND. Who would?! It’s interesting that you noted Riko and Kiyoshi are scatter brained – maybe that’s why they themselve as a pair don’t work – they need that “anchor,” which Hyuga would be – *cough* hence the OT3 working, too! And ahahahaha, Kuroko wanted whatever Hyuga and Kiyoshi were having, haha!! :) The one with Kise and crew in last week’s set was SO GOOD – the shopping mall date – I loved that one as well! And yessss, rounding out the special with the character songs next week! :D Very excited for that and then Season 2! Thanks for the comment!

Hahaha, the space image is perfection. I love it! I cannot imagine how exhausting they were to put together, but I’m excited that you’re already liking Season 2! The Midorima one is HILARIOUS and Takao acting as well is wonderful! :) And all the parodies – that’s genius! Thank you for explaining them! Izuku’s dance showing he’s a math guy is pretty fun! And the glasses joke being made by Kuroko actually makes a LOT of sense, with that ED scene where he’s making fun of the three of them as they play that scrimmage game on a team together! ^^ The fact that either Kagami or Kuroko could have done it is hilarious and cute! God, we can just ship Aomine with ANY.ONE. It was a cute one, though! I agree, the chasing in the Teppei one and it being repetitive is why it’s lower on my list, but still, it was really sweet! And ahahahaha, Izuki voicing all the animals is great! Oh yeah, if you want to share the cast comments in the Discord, that would be awesome! That last one is my favorite.
