Thank you for the reaction and happy Halloween! We have everything in these chapters: action, plot twist, more gore than wanted, character development……and not a cliffhanger! We found out that XL and QR are cousins related by blood and likely the only remaining family members to each other in this world, but neither of them really appreciates this connection. QR is XL's fan that turned anti after the tragedy in Xian Le kingdom, and he holds this grudge even 800 years later, sending ghosts the same day XL comes down to the mortal realm to build his Puji shrine. I remember someone pointed out in the manhua HC/SL likely built a protection barrier around the shrine to keep the evil out, and here we have a confirmation. Remember the story about the two starving people and how to save them as a third party told by XL to LQQ? Well, we've already encountered two alternative versions of this story: Ban Yue's problem and the Red Banquet of Yong An. In both cases the 'evil priest' does something to carry the burden themselves and breaking this endless circle of hatred. Well, guess we found out another thing that runs in the family. HC: (got angry and beat up QR) XL: (shoulder pat and back massage) everything's fine, violence is never an option QR: *exists and insults HC* XL: A family business should be dealt with among family members (beat up QR with even more violence) And the fact that a shackled XL can flatten QR the near-supreme ghost king clearly shows his true power. Let's be honest here, who doesn't like this sweet pea that occasionally turns on his spicy mode? Now HC and XL are once again alone from other gods and ghosts, but since it's a MXTX work, I would be not a bit surprised if they don't do anything lovey-dovey and instead instantly got involved into even crazier plots, but still, we'll have to read on to find out!

I was so happy with these chapters! Such a treat! And NO tricky cliffhanger! I'm so happy! Hahaha! I love that QR and XL are related -- what a twist! I love the comparison of XL not holding grudges and avoiding them and QR taking them...well...beyond the grave! That is a good point and call back to the story told by XL to LQQ! And yes, XL is very much like, "We don't hurt each other...unless you're family, and then it's just a family reunion!" ^^ It's insane how powerful XL is, but I do like when he defends himself...or the people he cares for! I am always crossing my fingers for XL and HC to have fun, romantic, flirty moments (and hoping no one gives me spoilers or hints), but it's MXTX, so who knows what will happen!
