I hope the pain from your back has eased! 🥺 I love Lang Qianqiu's impulsivity. But he really is such a bro. Previous chapter he was all for not having Xie Lian lie to Hua Cheng. And here he's ready to step up and help Xie Lian...even though he's *just* been nagged by Shi Qingxuan for his previous behaviour. Poor Shi Qingxuan probably though Xie Lian would help them to rein in Lang Qianqiu. The Waning Moon Officer 🤩🤐 Mo Xiang Tong Xiu is great at introducing characters that intrigue you and make you want to more. Simply with the Officer's description with his mask and the cursed shackle it really captures your attention. Leaves you with *so* many questions for this mysterious newcomer. Description of Paradise Manor really makes it sound captivatingly beautiful whilst having a hint of danger and darkness to it. The massive sofa that they squish to sit right next to each other. Ah I love it. Just break my heart with little!Xie Lian feels. His reaction when he was younger to the destruction of his Gold Foil Palace is painful, because years later he had to live through the destruction of his actual home and not a foil creation. Also interesting insight into the differences between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. Xie Lian's thoughts on Hua Cheng's true appearance, as well as his eyes immediately falling on him, really remind me of Wei Wuxian constantly thinking of how beautiful Lan Wangji is. Though unlike Wei Wuxian, Xie Lian doesn't question himself on why he thinks things such as Hua Cheng's voice is nice. It's simple fact to him. The change of Hua Cheng's clothes and hair in the manhua honestly makes me head canon that when Hua Cheng left the Gambler's Den for Paradise Manor he immediately had his staff get working on making him as sexy as possible for his gege's imminent arrival. "It's nothing important" Hua Cheng stringing us along with that clearly duplicitous statement. Just adds more intrigue to what the ring is and why Hua Cheng gifted it to Xie Lian. Okay but that breaks my heart a little that Xie Lian doesn't see a difference between a residence and a home. Because he once had a home in Xianle, but it's gone 😭😭😭 Just means now Hua Cheng and Xie Lian can be each other's home from now on, right? No wonder Hua Cheng doesn't have a good opinion of the Heavenly Officials when he knows their two-faced nature from personally witnessing what depraved acts they've enjoyed within the confines of his City. Can I say I *loved* how shocked you were at the efficiency of them finding the Bandage Boy! 😂 Hua Cheng has good staff around him. Also, if Hua Cheng was your boss you'd do anything and everything he asked of you as quickly as possible. Though with Xie Lian there, it's our scrap-collecting deity that is giving the reins, and Hua Cheng takes the role of subordinate. Everything he has is there for his gege to take and use to his heart's content. Xie Lian feeling guilty 'cause it's likely that his gut reaction to seeing the Human Face Disease is what made the Bandage Boy cut them off and leave him so badly scarred. And Hua Cheng wants to help/doesn't want Xie Lian to be doing such menial and dirty work. But I think Xie Lian has to do it himself in order to assuage himself of the guilt he feels for a reaction he couldn't help having considering the Human Face Disease is Trauma with a capital T for him. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu: Let's dump a little more nightmare fuel for Bai Wuxiang. And let's add some more Xie Lian pain linked with the White-Clothed Calamity. Bai Wuxiang might be dead, but the trauma the White-Clothed Calamity has inflicted on Xie Lian remains. E'Ming!!! 😍🥰 My favourite weapon Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has created. Gotta love that our apparent cinnamon roll is extremely passionate about swords. He's a sword geek! Definitely one way to get Xie Lian's heart; have an armoury 🤣 And it's canon that one of Hua Cheng's love languages is gift giving. But definitely here for the Beauty and the Beast parallel! That ending!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Your reaction was everything.

The plot moves so fast in these chapters and thanks for your reaction! I'm so sure HC keeps track on every action of XL the moment he enters the ghost city, so he may have that officer invite his god to his mansion and bring the boy ghost in with a snap of his finger. I know the palace HC's building is made of gold foil and is supposed to look like card houses, but I cannot unsee him playing pure gold lego pieces……And he's not the bit interested in this model-building game, flicks it down the moment XL arrives. And somehow, I feel sorry for the girls dancing in the hall, no one's really paying attention! According to HC many gods actually come down here in disguise to do shady business, given you can bet anything precious to you in the gambler's den, this may be a source of information for him about the heavenly realm. And we've established that XL has very bad luck, and unfortunate mortals may wonder into the ghost realm, HC takes the throne of the ghost city may well be one method to look for his god, and protecting XL from whatever chaos within the city. Actually, it's not that uncommon in Chinese mythology that certain types of cultivation forbid a certain action or so. In real life, many branches of Buddhists are forbidden to have meat, and ambiguous types of non-vegan food like eggs or milk are debatable depending on various minor branches. And in fictions, it's not uncommon that certain types of cultivation want people to be self-restraint, hence no alcohol, no sex, no hatred etc. Some may even go to extremes with no emotions, and as soon as cultivator walking this path has too strong feelings towards anyone or anything his/her cultivation is gone and may even result in serious backlash. It depends on the settings of each work, here drinking sure didn't cause XL to just go berserk and be reduced to mortals, as to other forbids......let's just wait and see. HC is just like "I'm willing to live with you in some shabby shack with nothing, but dear god I really want you to be the most loved in the world." He's offered XL a ring, a whole armory, willing to open up an orphanage for all his foster-to-be kids…… Your theories got me crackling so hard, but I'm not gonna tell you it's because you got them right or wrong LOL

I love that HC is sooooo into XL and the contrast of that to him shattering the gold palace game that XL was pseudo-obsessing over; it's a fascinating dynamic created in these chapters! Ahhhh, that's also a GREAT point about that being how HC has been gathering information concerning the HR. Hmmm indeed. That's interesting about the cultivation and how one deprives or restrains from certain aspects; of course HC is willing to give XL ANYTHING he wants -- he really is desperate for that love from his beloved, isn't he? And *evil cackle* right?! I'm glad you all aren't spoiling me and looking forward to getting surprised by whatever MXTX throws my way! :D Thank you so much for the comment!!

Thank you! I am a bit sore, but feeling better! :) Yesss, LQQ is SUCH a bro, but his sense of justice is endearing! I can see why the Windmaster tolerates him! :) And yes, the Waning Moon Officer – so many questions, but I guess we’ll hold back for now, eh? Knowing MXTX, we’ll get answers all in good time! YES, the Paradise Manor seems dangerous but darkly beautiful…but also empty…hm. And YES, a massive divan and XL plops down right next to HC. <3 That is a GREAT point about XL – he doesn’t question his sexuality when noting HC’s features…but then…is he even aware that he may be leaning towards HC in that way? That will be a question to ask! :) HC is SO obvious to the audience in him trying to impress XL, from his attire to the ring to the armory…you couldn’t get more obvious…except to the most oblivious man in the series! :P At least in that regard. I do want them to end up together in the little shrine! <3 that would be so cute! HC does seem to have pretty good reasons for why he doesn’t like the Heavenly Officials, as it turns out. But man, YES, HC is SUPER efficient in his domain! Just snatched that Bandage Boy right up! Agreed with you on why XL takes charge of Bandage Boy but man…T for Trauma for our dude! And yessss, Bai WuXiang is straight up nightmare fuel in this chapter! SO CREEPY. I am so excited that we’re meeting E’Ming finally! :D I can’t wait to see more and XL is sword geek, of course! Couple that with HC wanting to give all the gifts…omg…I love it so much! Hahaha!! Thank you for the kind words and comment! I can’t wait for the next chapters! :D

finally able to leave my comment 😊 LQQ is just a guy confirmed - doesn't know what's happening but wants to help I love the contrasting life philosophies of XL and HC expressed through the gold foil palaces - and even though XL changed a lot since his prince days, he still has the same outlook oh yes starting to unwrap the trauma package of Xianle fall - for me BWX is the most terrifying calamity (the scene in Xianle is just horrifying) it's interesting to see how the manhua shifted the scenes around in this one I think it's to shorten it a little since in the book we have the scene of the chase through the GC, then Waning Moon Officer (WMO) bring XL to the Manor, BB scene, XL following WMO, armory, another BB scene (I think?) I like how they cut the XL following WMO scene (bc it just divided the scenes with HC and BB) but now I'm interested how they'll portray a certain scene in the manhua since XL doesn't know certain smth hmmmm

Yay!! Yeah, LQQ being just a dude that wants to help is great; I like that MXTX is already taking what we thought and subverting it! And yesssss, getting philosophical differences in our main duo; it's great! I agree, ever since that first exposition dump, the White-faced Calamity to me has been the scariest, and this set of chapters pretty much confirms it to me. And YES, considering the video coming out this week, I can see why they did it, but it's an interesting choice to switch some things around! The WMO has me really intrigued so we'll see where that goes with them! Thank you so much for the comment!! CHEERS!
