Into the ghost city we go! The wind master's recorded origin story seems quite interesting, with his water tyrant brother and a reputation as a lady. And his personality is quite a charming one. But let's keep in mind no one's safe off the sus chart in tgcf for now except HC and XL, because it's a MXTX work! XL: I cannot get it up, so it's not the lady's fault, can you ghost pls stop calling her bad names? HC: I don't care about others, but I would gladly try to fix that. (Challenge accepted！） Given HC is the king of the ghost city, I'd bet that he knows the entrance of his god the moment XL enters this place, and hurried into this mature skin and brand-new outfit to act cool behind those curtains LOL Why the female ghosts are all giggling when HC tried to "teach" XL how to roll the dice? Well, the translation says they are exchanging words like "is it a bit higher now?" "It does seem to be a bit higher", but the original text is more like 'bigger' rather than 'higher', so these words can have very explicit meanings if you think from a certain aspect （bonking myself in advance） The same goes for the translation for 'paradise manor', I've read another fan translation and they've done a literal word-by-word one, making this place "the manor of ultimate pleasure", not a very underage-friendly place eh? Wonder what HC has stored there……maybe a collection of all the buns he received from XL, carefully displayed inside bullet-proof glass showcases with detailed labels about when and where he got them?

I'm definitely curious to see more of the relationship between the Wind Master, Water Tyrant, and Pei Ming as we go! :) I am fully on board with the headcanon that HC put on his best threads and tried to look the coolest when XL showed up on the scene! :) OMG...that translation!! Ahahahahahahahha! Ohhhhh...well...between that and JW telling XL to not touch HC's "sword," we all need to go to jail, eh? :P And ahahahaha, I want to see HC's collection of XL's meat buns he's collected over time -- what a visual! But also, having read the next few chapters, that makes a LOT of sense with the translation of Paradise Manor as to why XL thought it was a brothel! Fascinating! Can I just say that I love Shi Qingxuan?? They’re just so much fun and is definitely the kind of friend Xie Lian needs in his life! Because Xie Lian could really use a friend to hype him up and stop his self-demeaning comments 😔😔😔 Welcome to the GAMBLERS DEN. I’ve been waiting for you to see this scene. The “dice rolling technique”???? Xie Lian and Hua Cheng SHAMELESSLY FLIRTING IN FRONT OF EVERYONE???? THE FACT THAT THIS IS XIE LIAN’S FIRST TIME SEEING HUA CHENG IN HIS TRUE FORM???? AH ITS SO GOOD. Starember (the manhua artist) drew Hua Cheng so deliciously. I love the way they draw his eyes especially. It’s so detailed and just as I pictured from the novel. Imagine this ANIMATED??? I will literally not be of this earth anymore when that happens. Xie Lian’s “unspeakable affliction” - ahahahahahaa I was not expecting that to come out of his mouth when I first read this. Boy is Xie Lian in for a surprise when a certain ghost king gets his chance 😏😏😏😏 I’m glad we got Lang Qiangqiu settled, but last week it was so funny to hear you be suspicious of him. He’s literally this naive little bean with a strong sense of justice. But you know, it’s good to be cautious, if Mo Dao Zu Shi has taught us anything it’s always better to be suspicious XDDDD Anyways, can’t wait until the next reaction!

not much to say this week 😅 GHOST CITY 😍😍 probably my all-time favorite location - we went to Gambler's Den and who knows where we're going to go next? 👀 I love how at the beginning it is said that XL's heart is not moving no matter what tricks maidens may try but the moment he hears HC it's starting to beat quickly about the gambling man: my personal theory is that HC wouldn't let him lose his daughter's lifespan (bc he was perfectly capable of winning against him the 1st time) but our boy LQQ just had to barge in guns blazing 🤣 oh boy LQQ: he's just a bull in a china shop 😅 just innocent, naive but very strong also - the whole scene with XL and HC????? it's so good I still can't get over it that's basically it, next time we're going to resolve that cliffhanger!! and bye bye tgcf manhua for the foreseeable future 😭😭

These chapters were so much fun and yessssss, Hua Cheng was indeed drawn "deliciously!" I loved these moments of shameless flirting in front of the all the ghosts' salad, and Xie Lian and his "affliction!" I agree, Hua Cheng may have thoughts on that...hahahaha! I cannot WAIT TO SEE THIS ALL ANIMATED, I tell you! And I agree; I'm glad that the real nature of Lang Qianqiu has been revealed! But yes, MDZS has taught us to be cautious no matter one! Better safe than feeling totally betrayed later on in the series...right? :P Thank you so much for the comment! I'm soooo excited for the chapters to come!

That's okay! I really LOVE the Ghost City so far! There's so much creativity and possibility with this series so far, too! I'm excited to see where it goes to as well! And yessss, no ladies can sway XL's heart, but HC? I mean, maybe. ;) That's a good deduction about the gambling before Lang bust in; I could see that too! Oh, LQQ -- he really is a bull in a china shop! Great description for our bro! And yesssssss, the scene with XL and HC. So flirty!! I loved it! Thank you for the kind words and comment! I'm soooo excited for the next set of chapters - at least I can catch up with the manhua as we go, but I'm sad we won't see it for a bit. :(

Your 'hmm' when you read "They enjoyed a good relationship" sounded like you are so suspicious of this idea. Suspiciousness hides everywhere! 🤣🤣🤣 'Three Tumours' mention! Woohoo. Your shock about Ling Wen being included with the likes of Pei Ming made me laugh so hard. But yes, our little god that could needs some self-esteem thrown his way. Shi Qingxuan's got loads! Should share some of that with Xie Lian. "be responsible for your own actions" we stan Shi Qingxuan in this house! Given another crumb of information that lets you cross off two more names of possible people that sent the puppet to Puqi Shrine. Just probably a couple of hundred or more left to go 🤣 It's also interesting that it was the Wind Master over the Water Master that they chose to being the female of the two. Especially considering water is considered to be the most yin-like (which women are more associated with) and wind is more yang-like. Your look said it all on the widely held belief regarding the 'competence' of a woman in a civil god position. The idea of actually having to be how you are perceived by others makes me angry on the gods' behalf. Not everyone will perceive a person in the same way, but there are those that will act like sheep and follow what some others think of a person. My take on it is that it's the majority, or the loudest-spoken, that wins. Giving me such Mean Girls vibes with everyone automatically relegated to specific tables in the canteen based on how you're perceived. And yes, now we may need to make our own version of the Mean Girls dining hall only for our gods and ghosts. What I like about Shi Qingxuan is that they *persuade* but don't PUSH! They know where the boundaries are. And with having really only met Xie Lian I read this whole conversation as Shi Qingxuan testing to see where Xie Lian's boundaries are. Same in regards to the drinking. Shi Qingxuan politely shares their drink, and whilst they may not agree with Xie Lian's thoughts on alcohol the Wind Master accepts Xie Lian's beliefs and neither belittles them nor tries to force/cajole him into drinking more. A good person utilises all the tools they own. If your pretty face helps you get closer to your goal, then by all means! Xie Lian gaining confidence when surveying the food in Ghost City is one reason I don't think it'd be a destination I'd want to visit. I have a sensitive stomach and I reckon it'd just rebel completely at the sight, smell, and taste of that...I don't think it even warrants the word 'food'. But Xie Lian, honey, just because you're an ever-so-slightly better cook than those in Ghost City does not mean you are good by any means! 😆 Xie Lian: *politely rejects female's advances* Courtesan: Who's a f***ing lady?! But I love that Xie Lian still tries to let her keep face with his rejection. I feel like with how aggressive the female ghost was in her attempt to sway Xie Lian, even if he'd said his preference was for a male body I don't think it would have stopped her pursuit. One of the few times I feel like I can call Xie Lian a little pretentious is when it comes to calligraphy. He's a calligraphy snob! 🤣 In all seriousness he's lost much of what he once was when the Crown Prince of Xianle, but not in regards to calligraphy. "inexplicably went inside" the call of the Dark Side was too strong. The Dark Side in this case being Hua Cheng 🤭 Shi Qingxuan: *makes a suitable and covert plan* *Lang Qianqiu has entered the chat* Shi Qingxuan: 😮‍💨 I laughed when you found out our naïve little god Lang Qianqiu is the one to bust in and prevent the mortal from gambling his daughter's life and marriage prospects. This moment gives him such an act first, think later vibe. Your change in opinion of him was fantastic. For Shi Qingxuan choosing the Gambler's Den as the Meeting Point to meet with Lang Qianqiu kinda reminds me of my friend deciding big-ass well-known buildings for me to stand in front of so she can come find me in her city because I just get confuzzled trying to find my way around Belfast. Maybe I'm naïve but I just saw this as a kindness choosing somewhere that he can easily find/be collected from 😂 In the manhua both Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan look so done with Lang Qianqiu's childishness as he shouts he's not a thing suspended in the air. I love it! Okay both of them recognising each other's voices just gives me *all* the feels. I mean Gambler's Den is pretty crowded but even with speaking in a soft tone, Hua Cheng can make out his gege's voice and recognise it instantly. Just as Xie Lian could recognise Hua Cheng's voice, even though it's a little deeper than San Lang's. These two just loooove to kill me with these kinds of things. And yes the manhua with the hands it looks like such a parallel from the bridal sedan. Only this time there isn't a bridal veil blocking Xie Lian's view of Hua Cheng. Though there is a pretty red curtain that still lets him see Hua Cheng's true form 😍🥰 Your reaction to Hua Cheng's way of publicly flirting with Xie Lian, I mean 'teaching' him did not disappoint. This moment in both novel and manhua makes you forget the horror-esque of their surroundings and Lang Qianqiu hanging up in the air. The height difference...we love us a good trope! And Starember especially gives it to us. Hua Cheng to everyone else: *speaks in a lazy, malevolent, and commanding manner* Hua Cheng to Xie Lian: *speaks in a gentle and loving tone* They. are. in. public!!! Lang Qianqiu, a previous Crown Prince of Yong'An and current Martial God of the East, was publicly threatened to be de-pantsed by female ghosts. Oh this boy is really not having a good day. Hua Cheng chuckling at the idea that Xie Lian has nothing of worth. We need this man at his side more often. Might help with our scrap-collecting god's lack of self-esteem and self-worth. But at the same time Hua Cheng would see worth in the dirt on Xie Lian's boots nevermind anything of the god's person. That moment of Hua Cheng biting into the bun *killed me* in the manhua. That whole scene of Hua Cheng's should be frigging illegal! 🥵 Like the fact that the meat bun even gets a little blush in the manhua shows that this man is head-to-toe too damn sensual. I love that Shi Qingxuan becomes like a nagging mother and really manages to make the one being told off feel bad about the mistakes they made. They managed to do it with Pei Su and now here with Lang Qianqiu. "one must not lie to a friend" Lang Qianqiu is precious and naïve and deserves to go in the must-protect box 🥺🥺🥺 Mo Xiang Tong Xiu: Let's introduce this character at the beginning of the story and then have him disappear *multiple chapters pass by* Oh here's a bandage boy in Ghost City! She's kinda evil for this! For the Toy Story AU, so Hua Cheng is Bo Peep obviously. Then who is Shi Qingxuan? Mr/Mrs Potato Head? 🤣 So many good moments in Gambler's Den. Looking forward to the next one...in eleven hours 🤣 Headphones went to Mum's so had to wait until I got home tonight to be able to properly listen 😢

Or…at least until I’m proven wrong and Lang QianQiu turns out to be an innocent bro, haha! I feel that Ling Wen is friends with XL, pretty much, so maybe Pei Ming and Wudu will be eventually? It’ll be neat to see when we get more with these characters! I Do LOVE what we’re getting so far with the Windmaster in this series! Maybe the Windmaster is the….prettier of th two? And that’s why they were made a woman? Just the description of Wudu makes me think he’s…manlier? Eh? Hahaha! That’s interesting about the yin/yang aspect, though! And hahahaha, yessss, who sent the puppet? The great mystery of this series that MXTX will give answers to in the final hour, I’m sure. She loves to tie things back to the beginning eventually, right? And yes, am I a feminist? I love how in the manhua how DONE they are with him, too! XD Lang’s just NOT having a good day; poor guy! At least the Windmaster pulls off being motherly while still not too harsh for him! When he stood up for XL, I did want to hug him, too! And ommmgggg, the flirting, the preciousness between XL and HC?! *fans self* But yes, them acting like they’re the only ones in the room? When it’s packed with ghosts and two other deities? So good! Seriously, though, I hope that Hua Cheng can help XL build his self-worth back up; the man practically worships the ground he walks on, so I mean…surely! But yeah, that bun biting scene!
