**TEARFUL WARNINGS**

This was a masterpiece in emotional, gut-punch narrative that combined cinematic visual elements and a deep dive into grief, how we remember those lost, and how it affects us and our mental states post-loss.

Add in "a pinch of fantasy" - enough to make you question reality and what's real and not real by the end - and you have one damn good story. Fujimoto can craft a powerful narrative, that much is clear!

Apologies for all the tears; I'm not usually an emotional person reading and watching anime and manga, but this one tore through to my core.

2022-10-17 09:14:59 Man, I'd forgotten how impactful this one-shot was. I love the paneling and how the repetitive panels make the full spreads even more powerful. The panels that look almost identical except for small expressions/movements (chefs kiss). I really like Fujimoto's art style. He's one wild author. I'd have to say him and Gege are top-tier when it comes to my favorite mangakas. Back to this story, the mixing of reality & fantasy-- to the point where you don't even know what's real or not-- is one of my favorite parts of this story. That, and the emotional ride this story takes you on. And the fact that the story lies to you-- or at least omits information about the characters. Or rather, Yuta is choosing what to show the audience. Also, I swear one of the movies they were looking at was Call Me By Your Name, which like this one-shot, broke my heart. In any case, love the reaction! I look forward to CSM and Fujimoto's other works.

Ugh, glad I'm not alone in absolutely sobbing to this one-shot. It really is a masterclass and sticks with you. Can't wait for your Chainsaw Man videos!

I like that in Fujimoto's works you can always feel the emotions and atmospheres through the little gestures and the subtle facial expressions of his characters, it's like you're standing right in that scene. I guess this is especially difficult because his art style is like more realistic, like a real sketch of a person. Also the film-like panels. The multiple silence shots at the table between Eri and father reminds me of Anno's direction in EVA. Reading his works is really like watching a movie!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one either! Hahaha! This was SUCH a powerful story! And thank you so much! I've been hyped for CSM for the entire year -- so soon, now! :)

The repetition makes it feel like a movie, right? I love his style and I'm soooo excited for what's to come with his future works! And yes, the use of an unreliable narrator, the twists and turns of fantasy vs. reality -- and YES! Someone in the Discord showed that Call Me By Your Name was in that shot! It apparently is one of his favorite movies! :) Thank you for the kind words and comment!

The emotion was so raw and beautiful in this! "Standing right in the scene" is such a great way to describe i! And yessss, very gritty and sketchy of an art style, but I love it! I can SO see the NGE influence at that dinner table scene! :) It does feel like a movie, and I loved it! Thank you so much for the comment! The discord shared a list he revealed of his favorite movies and tv series; NGE was on it, surprising no one, eh? :)
