**TEARFUL HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

After an episode centered around Asuka, it only makes sense we have one near the end focused on Rei...and WHAT an episode it is! The color red was an...apt choice for the reaction this episode!

In this whirlwind of an episode, we get the penultimate angel battle, SEELE revealing their agenda, Gendo making a move, and we FINALLY get some answers...but at what cost?

You watching the movies is gonna be so epic. Can't wait for more "WHAAAATTT?"

I have been enjoying a lot your reactions and analysis to NGE. It's a thrill to see how you put the pieces together. :)

I am very excited (albeit nervous) for the rest of this series, but SUPER HYPED for the movies! There's so many! :D I can't wait!

Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words! I'm glad you all enjoy my NGE ramblings and trying to make sense of it all! :)

By the way, I would like to know your take on this. Why do you think Ritsuko took Shinji down to Terminal Dogma? What were her intentions before Misato showed up?

Once you're done with watching all Evangelion content, I recommend to read through https://wiki.evageeks.org The tiniest details from each episode are listed there, with additional discussions about several topics

I definitely want to talk about this next week, but I thought Ritsuko maybe wanted to show Shinji the Rei's and some of the "truth" of NERV, in case she died -- she'd felt betrayed by Gendo, so maybe it was her way of getting back? But...I'm not 100% sure; once the series is over, that's definitely going to be something to talk about!

Oooohhh, thank you for that link! When I'm completed with the series, I may have to do a video or stream going onto that site and talking about it! :)

My interpretation of that scene with Asuka and Hikari, where Hikari says "you did your best" and Asuka curls up and cries, is quite the opposite... "You did your best" is the last thing Asuka wants to hear, since she feels like she can never win. If she did her best, but still lost... then she probably feels like there's nothing she can do. For Asuka, who's all about proving her worth to the world, this has to be crushing. Of course, she does also want to be helped... but that cognitive dissonance is key to her character.

This is exactly what I think as well. I was planning to comment this but I've been very busy the last weeks. Good think to have found your comment so I don't repeat this somewhere else. Of course I think Hikari tries to do good, but at the end is a very difficult situation and she probably doesn't know exactly what to do or say (I probably won't know either).

romaniablack

That's a really good note about how even though Hikari was MEANING well, it just didn't pan out and may have made the situation worse, like we saw with Kaji in Episode 22....oof. Thank you for pointing that perspective out! I'll have to bring that up in a future discussion! :)
