**HEADPHONE WARNING: I GET LOUD IN THIS WHOLE THING**

We're not even HALFWAY through this series, and it's already running the gauntlet for anxiety-inducing moments sure to give me as many gray hairs as our badass Daddy Yagami, who proves to us exactly WHERE Light got his acting chops from in this episode!

But beyond that, the notion that the Death Note may have the ability to "influence" others is TRULY brought into question, as L seeks to prove Misa and Light are the Kiras of the world, only to be faced with a genuinely supportive Light who ironically wants to help him find Kira, and a mysterious organization lurking in the background who may now have the ACTUAL abilities of Kira...there's so much going on and Light's plan may be quite genius! We shall see! #nospoilers

hmm..., I have nothing to say, and no time to write anything long, but fun fact: the manga has about NO biblical references at all. The anime added a few, and that's it really. Which is something I find interesting.

Death Note gives you one answer but then proceeds to bring you 5 completely new questions & hypothesis per episode haha. The fact that Light has a completely different attitude when not in possession of the Death Note opens a full umbrella of new possibilities for this show to move on. Really love watching your analysis after the episodes!

Oh wow, really?! That IS really interesting that the anime added that from the manga!! Neat!! Thank you for the fun fact! :) :)

Thank you so much for the kind words and the comment! Yesssss, what we thought was ALL Light's free will -- now that we see him without the Death Note and how different he is, it really does open up a LOT of possibilities of the Death Note's influence, free will, etc. sooooo much to consider! :)

Misa referring to herself in 3rd person is just the Japanese language thing, it is used to kinda soften the phrase and not be so assertive. Of course, male protagonists would not use that as they are portrayed as strong and forward characters, but for woman to use even an already-softened female "I" pronoun would come off as uncomfortably assertive. Misa is, of course, a strong person but also very used to social interactions so refers to herself like any real-life woman would in some cases. "Light belongs to me!" is quite a lot more forceful than "Light belongs to Misa".

Oohhhhhh, that is right! I forget that Japanese and pronouns have an "odd" relationship within the language! That is a great point to make -- thanks for pointing that out! :)
