After finishing the donghua, I finally start my dive into the manhua, the novel, and episode 1 of the audio drama!

Yesss I'm so excited to experience the novel again with you! It is quite the journey to say the least haha. Now that you've read it in the novel I'd like to give you this really cool trivia about one of the quotes. I'm not sure if someone told you yet or if you picked it up, but in the second ed of the donghua-"HongJue" or "Red Devastation" (aka Hua Cheng's song)-when you combine the first word of each sentence in the first chorus you get the famous phrase "tian guan ci fu, bai wu jin ji" - With Heaven official's blessing, no paths are bound/all taboos are off. When you connect the first word of each sentence in the second chorus you get "shēn zài wújiàn xīn zài táoyuán" - Body in abyss, heart in paradise. .....genius I tell you, the songwriters did not have to go so hard on that! My mind was blown when I found that out. Honestly there are so many quotes in this novel that are just pure gold, I can gush over MXTX's writing all day

Long time no talk!!! Had a busy two months, so sorry for the radio silence. Thought I should finally pop back in and share my excitement. (Hopefully I can also catch up to the Yona react/reviews.) Ahhh I can’t believe we’re at the audio drama already!!! It came out of left-field for me, I thought it would at least be another year until they released it. I waited to listen to it, so I could listen along with you! You know, I wasn’t too set on Xie Lian’s VA at first bc in the trailer, they made him sound so child-like it was off-putting. But hearing him in the first episode, my opinion has completely changed!!! He’s great!!! So weird to think it’s donghua Jin Ling’s VA but he still makes a wonderful Xie Lian — I’m so excited!! AND THE MANHUA!!! It’s absolutely stunning!!Your timing is honestly impeccable since the manhua is finally back with new updates!!! Although, idk if anyone told you, but I just wanted to clarify that the manhua was created under the assumption that the only people reading it are the novel readers. So if the first few manhua chapters felt kind of rushed and sped through certain scenes (esp. Mr. Smirk and the bridal sedan scene), it’s because they assume you’ve read the novel and already know what happened. It slows down to a more natural pace like after the whole Xuan Ji arc I think. Don’t quote me on this, that’s just something I heard through the grape vine a while back. I think it’s so funny that they included Xie Lian tripping on a cloud on his way down to earth. It really is a testament to how bad his luck is 😅😅😅 which, now that I think about it, builds on the expectation that he will finally have someone to catch him 🥺🥺🥺 im also so excited for 100k words of new content!!! I can’t believe mxtx had MORE she wanted to add to this story!!! Makes me wonder if that’s why season 2 hasn’t put out a release date yet bc they’re trying to fit in the new content as well 🤔🤔🤔 I’m patiently waiting still, but I’m getting slightly worried that it’ll be pushed back to next year since it’s getting closer to the time when they said they would release it 😬😬😬 I don’t want to wait another year - I want DongHualian back 😭😭😭 Also worried about the second episode of the audio drama. It should have dropped by now, but no official news about it as of yet which makes me nervous that something may have happened to cause it to be cancelled or something. The first episode isn’t even available on my app anymore 😭😭😭 I hope everything gets taken care of soon. Anyways, looking forward to next week’s reaction!

Welcome back!! No worries!! And yes, we’re in good places with HOB and Yona, FOR SURE! Ahhh, it’s so sad we only have the first episode so far – I really enjoyed it but I’m eagerly awaiting the next one! I DO like the VA for him – he’s innocent at times, but then him ordering Ruoye has such a commanding presence! The Manhua is SO GOOD! I’m excited it’s back with updates! I can definitely see how it would be geared towards novel readers because I noticed they skipped over some bits as well in it – but luckily, reading the novel and/or listening to the AD first will be helpful there. :) That’s interesting, though! Our poor XL tripping on a literal cloud! @.@ I AM excited to eventually see what all extra content has been added to the story! And yessss, that’s an interesting point – maybe they’re adding more content?! That would be AMAZING! @.@ I am okay with waiting, but I know there are so many biting at the bit to see S2~ and yes, I’m hoping the AD hasn’t been canceled! And oohhh, I didn’t realize it’d been taken off the app! That’s so sad! In any case, maybe we’ll hear something soon! Thank you so much for the kind words and I’m so ready for more into the novel!
