**MINDBOGGLING HEADPHONE WARNINGS!**

Don't worry, there's no worries, here! Just L, baffled and confused along with the task force; Chief Yagami worse for wear and STRESSED, Misa believing she's being kidnapped by a stalker, and Light...GIVING UP THE DEATH NOTE?!

1st of all. I have been waiting for this for SO long and <3 2nd the "kira is unaware of being Kira" is actually a pretty legit idea, because the 1ST KIRA never sent any of those tapes. It was all done between the 2nd Kira and the investigation team. Also, we have a magical killing notebook, I think that idea of Light being possessed is way more likely than a fucking magical notebook. But that may just be a personal thing though, what type of things people believe and what not is a very complicated question. EDIT: just clarifying about the possessed thing. We know what sort of magical powers the world has, its limits (somewhat), and how it presents itself to us. And thus we viewers have a view of "what is possible and what's not" which affects these things a lot. And due to the death note being about a note, the idea of possession seems very far-fetched. But we must remember that in L's eyes, the "magical thing" can be ANYTHING. Supernatural powers and or entities that can possess people is in a certain way a very normal assumption, after all only a few decades ago people used to VERY HEAVILY believe, and some still do, in demons and demonic beings that can possess people. And not only demonic but there are also countless of beliefs that involve people getting possessed by angels and gods too. and comparing such a widely known belief to a magical notebook....

It would be interesting if we could forget everything about the show and watch a version that only shows L's perspective. We would have no idea about the death note and how Kira is able to kill. Would we be convinced Light is Kira and how would we react to this part then?

Light being Light, one of my favorite characters alongside Lelouch & Edward in all of Anime for a reason. I'm so jealous of you being able to watch the series for the first time haha. This is the one anime i would like my memory wipe out to watch it again. Great reaction!

That is a good point, that L has no idea what is causing the deaths -- there are a lot of questions that go with that possession idea: how does someone possess someone while ALSO killing someone they aren't even touching? Do the possessions kill people? There's so many questions, but we the audience definitely have a skewed perspective since we know that an actual object does the "killing" as the "weapon." I like to think that L doesn't want to admit to the idea of possession because it could rule that "insanity" plea -- that Light and Misa weren't aware of their actions, and that seems to disalign with L's "justice" and how he thinks that the two Kira's are fully aware of what they're doing...the ACTUAL influence of the Death Note could be something to consider though...but I'll wait until the next episode to talk about it. ;) Thanks for the comment!

THAT would be so neat!! I think the fact that we know there's a Death Note is messing with us as the audience -- with all that we do know, though, and from what we've seen L deduce -- I think it would still be noted that Light is Kira...but as to HOW he's committing the murders...that would be quite the mystery, since Light's done an expert job at hiding that...it's so fascinating to think about!
