**FRIENDLY HEADPHONE WARNINGS**  

I was not emotionally prepared for this episode -- not only getting Misa being absolutely CHAOTIC, much to Light's growing chagrin, but now L decides to drop the "F" word, and it's a bombshell for our would-be god...but not nearly the bombshell that Rem delivers: Saying they'll kill L if it will make Misa happy...and it's not Rem's compliance that's necessarily the bomb, but the fact that Light...may...just maybe...actually care about L?   

I have no clue where we go from here, but I am TERRIFIED and HYPED, to say the least!

Wonderful reaction and discussion Romania !! Now then, I am sorry in advance for breaking your most emotional moment of the episode, but in my opinion, the I consider you my first friend line from L wasn’t a heartfelt confession, but a calculated move to make Light lower a bit his guard by showing him vulnerability from L! especially L now knows that the two Kiras teamed up, he wanted to see Light would react , just like Light wanted to do with him !! Don’t forget , we are talking about geniuses here and no matter how much we d like to believe L was genuine, it is a bit out of character for him to say such thing to someone he suspects !! and you see that the little line somewhat had a effect, because I am with you that Light ´s reaction in the end was a lot like second guessing and not someone celebrating his ultimate goal being at reach!! BUT I say all the above, but I think that they really could have been friends in another life, situation !! They are both at the opposite sides here and it is their fate to be ennemis !! But they are so alike and feel so alive when they are discussing, challenging each other , in some ways they care about the other as an equal adversary !! So it is really heart breaking but they really could habe been BFFs if they were in another situation !! The Rem threat !! Oh boy!! We already established that Light has a big (understatement) Ego !! And Rem went and threatened him, of killing him! And humiliated him in accepting Misa, protecting her !! Light is someone who keep a grudge especially when humiliated, so Rem my girl be careful !! Misa the chaos agent!! Everything was according to plan until she landed in his life, he hates it to be cornered and I think you figured it out that he can’t stand her !! Light this episode was soo expressive, and I love that you picked up on that! A last thing to remember : the writing on the cover of the two death notes is different !! Light’s Cover is in English and Misa ´s is in what I think Shinigami language !! Next episode is bonkers, so buckle up miss Black!!

The stuff about lengthening Light's life spawn is about like: If Rem kills someone who was meant to kill Light, then the killer can't kill light when he's 28 so light won't die at 28 bc the killer can't kill him. in this case, the killer is L and the "age of death" is smt else. AFTERALL L has sworn to execute kira. Smt like that if it makes any sense. Also, the chain you mentioned in the op around Misa's neck, It's just her necklace, nothing more. AND I LOOVVEEE The way Light's eyes just SHONE when L called him his friend. So cute.

Oooohhhh, that makes much more sense about the lengthening of the lifespan! Thank you for clarifying that! And I was just theorizing with the chain on Misa's neck; if I find out it's nothing or doesn't have meaning as the show goes on, that's fine, but I wanted to think out loud in the moment. :) But yes! Thank you so much for the kind words and comment!! I get your point, though I honestly still think that it was a bit genuine with L saying that Light was a friend. Obviously, I DON’T want any clues, hints, or spoilers of what’s to come, but I still think that there’s a part of L that appreciates Light, just like we’re seeing how Light is realizing he actually may ENJOY having L as an adversary and the world is going to go back to being “boring” without him (and he’ll be stuck with Misa, bwahahaha), but that’s just my interpretation. I know L still suspects Light, but there is a part of him that doesn’t want Light to be Kira, or at least, that’s what we know so far. And I haven’t forgotten, haha, but Geniuses can be compassionate, too, eh? :) L seemed to be that way towards Naomi and the task force member that died. I’m excited to see what we get out of their interactions to come in light of this episode’s events. It IS really sad that the Death Note has made these two could-be besties into enemies. I agree that in another situation, they could TOTALLY be best friends and do so well working together and having a healthy rivalry…why can’t we have nice things?! And yessss, Rem is NOT Ryuk, and is not afraid to threaten Light! And yeahhh, the question is, how could Light kill Rem or get back at her? I guess we’ll find out, right? At the moment, it doesn’t seem he can do much but go along with Misa and Rem and hahahaha, I just LOVE how Light has to deal with them and cannot stand them. Luck may not be totally in his favor anymore eh? And YES, I thought the cover of Misa’s was Japanese instead of English, but that would be neat if it was the Shinigami language. Thanks again for the comment! I’m trying to avoid getting hyped on any episodes in specific, so I can go in as blind as possible and not be disappointed, but I’m always excited for the next episode of Death Note! :)
