Misa, Misa, Misa! She may not be as "dense" as was at first glance; an actress with some deduction capability, teaming up with a deducing would-be god who is somewhat of an actor? Who's using WHO and are Ryuk and Rem regretting their decisions, yet? How is L making it out of this alive?!   

Deals with the devil are made, as the two individuals who should NOT have the Death Note are plotting...and the questions of trust and motivations are brought into the limelight...things just got more complicated and I'm SO excited to see where it all goes!

The sub also explained about Gelus' lifespan going to Misa, I think.

Also, since Gelus had presumably stopped writing names after he fell in love, I'm not sure he would have transferred Misa much time at all, but maybe this is clarified somewhere.

Ok now that I think about it, he could not have been in love for Misa for very long, so you're probably right. xD I can't believe I watched AND read this whole series and I never realized that about Misa.

Just want to point out, in case no one has yet, that in the original story no one makes any assumptions about the second Kira’s gender. That’s a translation issue due to the need for gendered pronouns in English, which is too bad. I doubt that L would ever jump to conclusions like that, even if some of the others might.

Yesssss, that is sad that the English dub used the gendered pronouns, too; but yes, that makes more sense that the manga doesn't do that -- thank you for letting me know that! :)

Yeah, it may not have been much he gave to her; the dub makes it seem like it was enough to go past a normal human's life span, but that could be a translation choice that isn't accurate with the dub! :P

That kinda makes me wonder, how long do the shinigami have to live on their own, without the Death note? And considering the difference in shinigami years and human years mentioned in one of the 'interim pages" in ep 12, might they actually desperatetely need to write down those names juist to live a while longer? Could they even be afraid of a 'real death' and what can happen after?.. Questions, questions.
