After many requests, I'm listening to the Character Songs from The Untamed!  

I look at the cast of our series, along with "Wu Ji" and the Yi City theme -- this was a LOT of fun and man...the lyrics and vocals of some of these were INCREDIBLE! Safe to say our Untamed actors are not only great performers, but "Have the Range" as well! I hope you all enjoy!

I SEE MY NAME HAHAHAHA I'm listening and singing along as I work on a fanart for Yanli's birthday on May 2. This is really nice. Whenever I hear Wuji, I can NEVER stop myself from singing along😂 I just love it so much! Yibo and Zhan were actually members of their own respective boybands, for those who don't know. Yibo was part of a Kpop group called "Uniq", and Zhan's Cpop group was "XNINE". They both have varying voices, Zhan’s being more for Ballads, and Yibo’s is more for Pop. But the way they miced here was BEAUTIFUL. Their songs are very telling of their characters. Literally a reflection of them. Wuxian's is fun and sort of upbeat with a hint of loneliness in between. The tune is carefree and free-spirited, as it is guided by the tune of a flute and accompanied by a Chinese Opera singer. Not sure if it's a Peking Opera singer or something else, though. Wangji's is melancholic. It's calm but it's mournful and broken and lost and it just encompasses his character and his yearning as a whole. Yes, they have different accents due to their dialects, so some words will be pronounced differently. Qing's song sounds like she's lamenting hers and the Wens' lives. And yeah, it does kind of summarize her life in the story. As for Ning, the tune is so gentle and serene. It also has that hint of being lost along the way with how the tone of the lyrics go. Marius' voice is just BEAUTIFUL. If you look at his Ig? He sings a lot on those, and more often than not, he's acting out the song as if it were a stageplay. Cheng's really is sad, it embodies his entire feeling of hating the way that things were and how they had to go. It's just really a summary of the pain he had to endure all throughout the story. And that's the thing about C-drama OSTs! They SUMMARIZE a story, they summarize a character into a song. Because in ancient China, stories were told through short poems and always sung to a crowd, usually in Opera houses. And you will actually see this reference when you get to SVSSS, so please, take note of that. Oh no...OH NO, YI NAN PING😭 I did not want to cry while doing my work but here we are. I AM BAWLING, SAVE ME😭 I won't bother to explain this one cause this one just mkaes me cry evreytime😭 and then TO ADD ZIXUAN AND YANLI'S DUET AFTER? Nuh-un m-mm not doing that😭 The Yi City songs are all just lamentations, in my opinion. They were sad, but they didn't make me cry as much as Yi Nan Ping and Eternal Farewell did. Lonely City was my favorite out of those tho. :3 The Juniors song was upbeat, and it embodied their adventurous nature, and it shows the youthfulness in them. At the same time there were low tones in the song that felt like they were disheartened or unsure, and that was a nice touch. Kinda sad they didn't put Zizhen in there—why is my boi always left out😭 Qing He Jue was mainly Huaisang mourning his brother and just a requiem for his brother. This is another tear-jerker for me, I just love the Nie brothers so much😭 Xichen's song is awfully sad and if you listen closely, it almost is reminiscent of Wangji's own? Except with Xichen's, there's no happy ending to the song—and that's because Xichen lost so much and never got anything in return. Yao's is hard and melancholically upbeat. And it's almost an embodiment of his two-faced nature. The lyrics are terrifyingly tragic, but the beat is fast and energetic. A positive hiding the negative, almost—if you didn't know what the song meant, "you'd just say, aw heck yeah! Fun party song". But my top 5 is this: Wu Ji, Qu Jin Chen Qing, Yi Nan Ping, Bu Wang, Hen Bie I can't wait for next week's upload! I'm so pumped but also sad that we're going through these, cause we'll soon get to the end😭 but WE'RE NOT THERE YET😤 thank you again for these, Miss Romania! This was amazing! I had to watch it late because things kept getting in the way, but I started listening with you while cleaning. It was great. As for comments being deleted, try contacting Patreon helpdesk. I did that when I googled that might be the case of system autoimatically tagging random comments as spam. The problem was soon resolved by helpdesk specialist, so good luck!
