**Headphone Warning**  

WOW, the donghua and The Untamed did not prepare me for the extra backstory we get on Yao in these chapters! SO much with Sisi now makes sense, and Yao...Yao, my dude...a lot more dots about your character are connecting with Chapters 104-106!  

I also listen to two extras, "Eating Watermelon" and "A-Yuan and Rabbits," and they are surprisingly FITTING extras recommended with these chapters, even if they don't seem that way on the surface! I can't believe we're down to the last 20 chapters of the novel (8 more for the story!) -- it's surreal, but I'm so excited for what's to come!

Jin Guangyao suppressed all the ghosts of the women he killed, whilst Wei Wuxian with a single command or click of his fingers has them all doing his bidding. Such a badass show of power on Wei Wuxian's part. We *love* SiSi! Her standing up for Meng Shi is why I was somewhat annoyed with how the donghua portrayed her and had her die before telling her story. Loved the little bit of Billy Joel. You have good taste, Romania! Jin Guangyao saying he's not an oracle; like I've said before he's a master go player. He prods the pieces in certain ways and because he's so good at predicting actions of others, they move how he wishes like puppets on a string. He has no need to be an oracle with his mental capacity. Though I do *love* his description of Jin Guangshan's death. But I do feel a bit sorry for horses for such a comparison! Nie Huaisang, the other mighty go player, had no need to prod anyone or the conversation to go in any specific ways. By keeping silent he gains what's needed in this moment (a breaking between Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao). All ready for hopefully something nice with the extras but instead get pain of poor Wei Wuxian alone. It was a little nicer with it ending with Jiang Fengmian finding him. But Lan Wangji with baby A-Yuan?? Way too precious. Yay for A-Yuan being Team Potato though! Also Lan Xichen being a protective uncle? All for it. That little line of A-Yuan's about "do you like me? I like you" is what he said when playing with the butterflies Lan Wangji bought for him on his visit to Yiling. I love though that that is what makes Lan Xichen question if he remembers the past. Does Lan Xichen believe that Lan Wangji made a confession and that A-Yuan was present??

Thank you for the reaction! This episode and set of chapters tell us so much about Yao! I really like how you compare the novel's characterization to that in the donghua and the live action. In addition to the seventeen episodes in S3 of the audio drama, there are two more long extras (thirty minute-ish) at the end that are themselves adaptation of extra chapters at the end of the novel. They are listed as Extra-16 Family Banquet and Extra 18 Instrusions in Suibian Subs file. I think you might want to react to them while reading the remaining bundle of extra chapters after the novel finale. Looking forward to next week!

Oooh, that's a great point that Yao's suppression was instantly resolved by WuXian; the power of our Patriarch! :P And seriously, I'm SO glad I've read the novel to realize the greatness of SiSi! I admire her a lot more in this OG material than The Untamed and definitely the donghua. Billy Joel is one of my FAVORITES, so thank you for the kind words! :) Ahhhh, that's a great tie in to how Yao is a puppet master -- and is great at "reading" people and predicting what they'll do; that's brilliant! And yes, ol' daddy Jin....the comparison is THERE, for sure. @_@ And wow, the opposite of Yao, HuaiSang doesn't prod anyone -- he sets up the "stage" for the pieces to play on and lets it run its course; it's fascinating! And those extraaaaassssss! Seriously, they are so precious! And I LOVE the headcanon that Xichen wonders if A-Yuan heard a confession from Wangji to WuXian -- WAS that the moment that the Xichen became the Captain of the WangXian ship?
