I have to say I couldn't be happier you are doing this show... This will definitely be my favorite reaction series all the way through till the end of eva... You are one of the few people I've seen that actually tries to understand shinji as opposed to immediately disliking his hesitant nature... I really appreciates his truly odd behavior, especially in the context of being the lead of the story, he breaks almost all the norms which is really interesting to me... Anyway though I just wanted to say I watched this show when I was exactly 14 back in the day and it had a true impact on me... It taught me alot and no matter how many times I've watched it since it always gives more... Can't wait for the next video!

Thank you SO much for the kind words! I really am falling for this show and it's "quiet madness" (so far) -- and I really empathize with Shinji, so I'm curious where his character is going to go! And yeah, he's a far more unique protagonist than I've seen in a show like this before. Thanks for the comment! I'm excited to see where the series goes!

So I don't remember this, but it seems like Shinji keeps replaying one track. Those three seconds are just the beginning of the song, so they show the time every time he restarts it back to that point. I don't think he's listening to the same 3 seconds over an over, but rather an entire song.

Hmm it looks suspiciously like those Children suitable for piloting were conceived just when the meteor stroke or soon after? Also, those sunflowers from Shinji's route? Van Gogh reference much?

I’m excited to see you doing this show! Bless Anthony for those video files. They have a lot more background info included (like the radio from last ep). But I’m especially grateful you have them because Netflix made some translation changes near the end of the show that they have gotten a lot of shit for (rightfully). So it will be nice not to have you wait for our comments to get an accurate translation when you get there. Also wanted to note that this is an anime original. There is a manga written after the show and base on it, but I’ve heard that it does it’s own thing to some extent. I haven’t read it, but I’m kind of interested now..

Ahhhhhh, that is a VERY good point to bring up! I've already watched Episode 5, but I'll have to point that out in Ep 6. And yessss, it definitely looked like a Van Gogh style of animation in that scene! Thank you for that!
