**KINGLY HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

How is this season THIS GOOD already?! We get SO much in three episodes:

* Mei DOMINATING (he is the king of course) over Yakushi (Sanada and Raichi have my HEART)

* A Quarterfinals Game with Seido

* The First Years getting acclimated and making stakes on the team!

I officially love our sweet bean Asada, but I think the dark horse to my heart is going to be Koshu...oh, oh honey...you think you're driving Sawamura away from you, but you've just unleashed the power of the sun and our boy isn't going to rest until he's shown you the Power of the Nakama! ^^

I don’t think this is a spoiler but, have you noticed that Koshuu has dead eyes just like Chris-Senpai did? Btw Ono is a third year like Miyuki, so he has a lot of experience to share with Yui.

romaniablack

YES!!! Ahhahaha, it's so great that you mention this because I'm going to bring it up in Episodes 10-12 (which I just watched last night) -- thank you for pointing that out! :) I'm so ready for Sawamura to "reach" him and Ooooohhhhh, I didn't realize Ono was a 3rd year too! T_T

Isa

Also have you noticed that last year yakushi didn’t even had enough players to fill the team, and now they have so many new players on the stands? They grew so much

Kessler

I couldn't wait for these episodes and the ones coming up! Keep up the great reactions!

Kessler

You're right about Inui going on 40 lol... He literally looks like Kunitomo

Oh thank you so much!! These episodes SENT ME! I am so in love with this season already, and it's just getting started! Thank you for the kind words and comment! :D

romaniablack

Oh wow!! I did not notice that!! That is so awesome -- I'm so proud of Yakushi; they're one of my favorite teams in this show and Coach Todoroki clearly has his work cut out for him now! :) Thank you for pointing that out and the comment! :D

I had forgotten how much I love ACT 2! The two crusher of dreams finally face off! Although, I think Raichi stills has a long way too go until he reaches Mei’s level. I love Mei’s presence. Whenever he enters the field, the atmosphere changes. Just by being there he influences so much of the game. Which makes sense since he IS the king. Their game, though short, is one of my favorites because it sets up so much of how the season is going to go. Firstly, it establishes the difference between a team that’s trying to reach Nationals and one whose goal is to WIN Nationals. We saw it at the end of S1 and we see it here again, how much that difference can influence who actually wins. So it will be interesting to see how that impacts Seido & Innashiro moving forward, since now both teams have the same goal of winning Nationals. Secondly, this games brings up the importance of a pitcher that’s happy with his pitches. If you remember, even when it meant disobeying the coach, Harada always let Mei pitch what he wanted and that made him happy and thus, a better pitcher. In S2, Itsuki was afraid to let Mei pitch what he wanted and made weak calls that made Mei doubt whether he had what it took to make the right & brave calls. This destroyed their battery. So it will be interesting to see how much they have improved now that Itsuki is willing to make tough calls that will keep Mei happy and at his best. And, finally, this game established how Yakushi and maybe in a way Seido didn’t earn 100% their positions at Nationals…they got a bit lucky. Yakushi even more so since they didn’t actually win the tournament. And Seido, because they didn’t face the one team that crushed their chances a year before and thus haven’t proven that they are actually the best in the region. Hopefully, Seido gets to prove themselves by winning against them in this Act. Subject Change! One of the main discussions in the fandom is who will be the next captain. These episodes are the reason why I believe it will be Kanemaru. I don’t see Furuya or Sawamura being captains AT ALL. They are way to focused on their rivalry for the ace number and improving themselves. Plus, they lack so much baseball knowledge still! They don’t even know how to read the scorebook! Sawamura is way more likely than Furuya since he is an excellent hype man but I think he would not be good at multitasking the duties and his performance as a pitcher would suffer because of it which is something I don’t think he is willing to give up on. On the other hand, Haruichi like Furuya lacks the communication skills. He is way too shy and focused on himself. I don’t think I have ever seen him talk to anyone but Kuromuchi, Zono and the other first years! Has he even spoken to Miyuki at least once?! Tojo is the only other person I see as captain. Which is why I think he would make either VC with Kanemaru or viceversa. They both have the most knowledge in baseball and level heads so I think they would be great. Plus, Kanemaru has already proven that he can control our wild card Sawamura 😂 Instead of captain, I think that by third year Sawamura will be the ace (bc he is the MC 😂) and Furuya has a nice shot at being the clean up, he is awesome at batting too and better at home runs than Haruichi who is the only other contender in his year. The only other rival for the clean up position would be baby Yuki but idk if the coach would choose a first year for such an important position. But what do I know?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Now, Koshu vs Sawamura. When I tell you my jaw drop when I saw this. I am so excited for you to see what comes of it. It’s such an interesting relationship that I was not expecting but super essential imo in keeping the story fresh and the fans excited for a future w/o Miyuki senpai 😢 ps. Ono’s a third year! Which makes him helping the first year catchers even more admirable since this is his last chance at playing in the field!

Sanada after being at Koshien is definitely different. His confidence going into that Inashiro game was like probably the max level we've seen and I love seeing it. Yeah they lost but like Miyuki said, Sanada deserves some praise for keeping Inashiro to only 4 runs. That reporter though. Miss binoculars up in Sanadas thighs lmao. Relax girl. Seeing Mei be the actual king of the diamond is just so cool lol. I'm sure we all roll our eyes when he's just being a whole dramatic diva but you cannot deny that when he's at his peak, he's so cool to watch pitch. When he's out to prove something he's just amazing to see do his thing. So many amazing shots of him in that game. Itsuki and Meis battery has grown so much its amazing. Itsuki seems so much more comfortable working with Mei now and I'm really glad Mei actually communicated with him about how he knows he's a handful but he needs Itsuki to be able to keep up with him. It's such nice growth for both of them. Its like Mei was saying that he trusts Itsuki now and was also laying out a challenge to him. "Keep up with me" and it worked. And Itsukis little joke was adorable 😂 I love that Kunitomo acknowledges the issues with his team. He knows they all work as individuals and that they probably won't ever be that team that plays as a proper team but as long as they're individuals who can work alongside eachother and do their jobs, that's all they need. TJ really didn't have to hit us with that shot of Sanada with his abs out lol. I mean I get it but God damn. I actually love Tomobe a lot lol. Hes my absolute favourite rival team first year. He's so pouty and edgy. I always find Sawamura and Furuya wanting to see the scorebook for the Inashiro/Yakushi game really interesting to their characters. Like Sawamura was desperate to know what Mei threw to strike Raichi out as if he's still trying to plan out his next encounter with Raichi. Koushuus competitive nature is one of the traits that reminds me the most of Sawamura. He can't stand to see Masashi and Yui running faster and eating their food quicker so he gets obsessive over catching up lol. Very Sawamura. Its kind of cool to note that Ochiai hasn't really gotten the chance to see Mei or Inashiro play live. He came in after the summer finals happened and then didn't go to see Inashiro vs Ugumori so to him it's probably pretty crazy watching the footage of Mei pitching to Yakushi. The little quirk of Miyuki with batting where he sometimes misses really easy pitches I think can be attributed to him overthinking at the plate. He always tries to hit the pitchers winning pitch and he's always trying to read the pitcher so if a pitcher just happens to throw in a spot Miyuki wouldn't have called for it just doesn't click in his head in time. I dont know what Tetsu means by saying Masashi is more whimsical than he is but I'd love to know 😂😂 really Tetsu? More so than yourself? Okay bud. I love seeing Yui be so assertive about catching and about getting used to the current first string pitchers. It takes guts to ask your upperclassmen if you can catch for a first string pitcher when you've JUST made the first string yourself. You've met a second year that I love lol Hiroomi Takatsu, I just call him Takatsu usually, is genuinely a character I really like lol. Hes so different to the rest of the second years and him in these episodes reminds me so much of Zono in past seasons. Not necessarily wanting the third years to leave but ready for the opportunity to make the first string roster. Our poor bean Asada getting roomed with the most chaotic member of this team but also the member of this team that seemingly watches older English movies and recites lines from them in his sleep 😂 no sleep for Asada Speaking of Asada, I LOVE seeing Sawamura trying to cheer him up. It's so sweet. Sawamura as a senpai is everything to me. Koushuu saying "I'm tired of looking at you senpai" gets me every time 🤣 like how are you gonna insult him while still being respectful. Mixed signals here Koushuu Inashiro does still have another 3rd year pitcher. Hirano is still there. The pitcher who pitched most of the game against Ugumori before Mei came in and lost them those runs lol. They did lose Iguchi last year but Hirano is their other main pitcher. And now the demon Akamatsu 😂😂 Also as Melanie pointed out, Ono is a third year so his stakes are even higher in hoping he doesn't get bumped from the lineup in his last summer on the team. Can't wait for next week 😫 literally so impatient

OMG these episodes are so chaotic, I love to rewatch them! First of all, Mei and Sanada ? It's been so long since we saw them, especially Mei (it's his first tournament after the big loss in the Fall Tournament). I really loved to see Mei back on track and how much the battery with Itsuki has grown. It really reminds me of the Harada/Mei battery; Harada made sure to also take into consideration Mei's wish; he really wished to throw the change-up probably to confirm to himself that he had changed and that throwing that pitch wouldn't be a danger anymore and Harada, after weighing the options, he let Mei pitch it, since it meant a lot for him. So when Mei says he wants to be "free", I think he wants to be an active part of the battery and that his wishes had also some space into the strategy. I don't think it's bad for the pitcher to be involved into the calling strategy (this topic will be discussed in the future). I also loved to see Sanada with more confidence and presence as a pitcher. His glow up was really something; he went from pitching just for fun, to taking his role so seriously. His growth it's so endearing! Also! Can we talk about Coach Ochiai's growth? I'm so happy that sensei kept him and let him be an assistant coach, because I think he brings a good balance to Coach Kataoka? He really grew as a coach during Fall and now he shares his thoughts and strategies with Coach Kataoka and doesn't do shady things behind his back ? Also, he accepts that the student can also reject his advices if they're not comfortable (Haruichi) and he thinks how he can help them be best, following they're style? I'm here for it! I love Sawamura being a senpai, he's so precious with all of the first year; Asada, Yui T.T OH BOY. I'm dead. That fight with Okumura is so legendary, but it's also how things started for the Chris-Eijun battery ?? Sawamura being way too cocky, misunderstanding Chris-senpai's behavior, and getting in trouble ? And now Koushuu, not only is extremely competitive as Sawamura, but also he gets into a fight with his senpai ? Ah, so iconic. (I mean, it would be a great start for an enemies to lovers story - yes, the ship exists and its name is kousawa, similar to misawa for Miyuki and Sawamura LMAO).

SO MUCH CHAOS! :) I DO love that Mei has gotten his groove back and Itsuki has grown as a catcher to know how to handle Mei. :) I like that Mei wants to be a part of the battery and be selfish and he's VOCAL about it, so Itsuki can understand. #charactergrowth I really like it! And Sanada with more confidence as well! I love his growth, too; from skipping run practices to going to the weight room and working to be a serious pitcher! I love it, too! And OCHIAI! He's definitely grown as well! He definitely is a balance to Kataoka; I'm glad he is less slimy in these episodes already. And he's accepting when students don't take his advice -- yes! That's a great note about Haruichi! :) I'm 100% here for this development, too! Sawamura being a senpai, especially for Asada and Yui is ADORABLE and I'm all aboard it! And baahahahahaha -- Ohhhhh Koshu. I love the comparison to Chris and Sawamura! I kept comparing to Miyuki, but you're right -- it is like the Chris-Sawamura battery! :) And I can SO see how there is a ship with these two, already! Thank you for the comment! I'm so excited to see where these episodes take us! :D

I am ALREADY loving Act II so much!! And YES, the crusher of dreams face off, but it’s really no question at this point, is it? I LOVE how Mei presents himself in these episodes! He’s definitely the KING right now! The game is really good, but that’s a neat point that it’s setting up this season! I love that going vs. WINNING Nationals – and yes, it is going to be interesting to see how Seido vs. Inashiro handle things; the ultimate rivals, eh? 😊 And ooooh, that’s a good point about pitchers being happy! And how that’s tying into Furuya and Sawamura. Hmmm….And yeah, after seeing this set of episodes (and the next), there WAS a bit of luck involved! But I really want to eventually see Seido face Inashiro….just not yet, hahaha! I have always liked the idea of Kanemaru being captain! In the set for this week, the fact that Sawamura goes to HIM for advice kind of proves your point! And I took the reading of the scorebook as a joke, but the rivalry of Sawamura and Furuya DOES keep them from focusing too much on other duties a Captain would have to have. And Haruichi is pretty shy, though being a captain could help him come out of his shell…yeah, a “party boy” captain with Kanemaru would be fun, right? I could see Tojo, too, but I like the idea of Kanemaru becoming captain to help hold down our sunshine boy from getting off the rails! And I would like if Furuya became cleanup; I’ve noticed too he’s batting really well and that would be neat if he and Masashi and Haruichi became a staple in batting and Sawamura became the ace. My fingers definitely crossed for the latter! And Koshuuuuuu, I just LOVE the POTENTIAL of what could develop between the two! I didn’t realize Ono was a third year; poor guy! That makes me respect him all the more, though! And ahhhh, Koshu having to deal with both Miyuki AND Sawamura?! It should be interesting!! Thank you so much for the comment! Sorry it took so long to get back to you with this comment, but I’m excited for this week’s episodes!

I LOVE that Sanada grew serious; that idea that Koshien changed him and that he wants to do the best he can now is great; I loved Miyuki praising him, too! 😊 But uhm. Relax, reporter, girl. Title IX, am I right? @_@ But then again, the mangaka gives us Sanada ab shots, so are we any better?! 😊 And YES, Mei as the King is so great; I honestly find his diva attitude endearing, because he has the talent to back it up and it’s humorous at times, too. But yeah, I love how much Itsuki has grown to be a battery with him! I really think he took what he learned from Miyuki last season to heart and Mei laying down that challenge to him? My heart swelled! I love it! <3 I also love that Kunitomo knows where his team’s faults are, but also knows how to play to the strengths of the team, and make it work. Hahahaha, and yessss, I sense a rivalry between Tomobe and Akamatsu and I’m excited, especially since Akamatsu seems like he doesn’t know how to read him. 😊 And YES! I thought that too; that Sawamura wanted to know what Mei struck Raichi out with, so he can try it himself. I’m curious if Furuya wanted to see it for a similar reason. I think that’s interesting too that Miyuki can overthink at the plate…Miyuki? Overthink? Whaaaaaaaattttt? :P And YES! Koshu being competitive like Sawamura is GREAT – you can see the similarities in them. Koshu is just…EDGIER. :D And ahhh, I hadn’t thought of that; Ochiai not seeing Mei play live, but I find it really neat to see him react to two of the better teams play one another for the first time. And Tetsu saying Masashi is more whimsical is hilarious to me…what is this family? I also love seeing Yui assertive as well! Him wanting to take the initiative is great and I like that from him being a first year. It’s crazy that we’re STILL meeting second years and third years from the team for Seido THIS FAR into the show, but with a roster of a hundred people, it’s not surprising, I guess. I like that there is such a huge cast in this show to keep it fresh. And poor Asada! I have a feeling I will **gently hold** this sweet bean throughout this season – and poor guy! Why should we be surprised Sawamura quotes movie lines in his sleep!? Kuramochi must be a deep sleeper. Sawamura being a sweetheart to Asada is the best! And oooohhhh, Koshu! I hadn’t thought about it that way, but YEAH! He was really respectful for all intents and purposes, I suppose! And oooh, I forget about Ono being a third year and Hirano still being there for Inashiro! And the DEMON Akamatsu…my eye is on him! But YES, so excited for this week’s episodes! Thank you for being patient with me getting back to this comment! :D
