Welp, this series has already put me in tears...four episodes in. Yay? 

Seriously, while our sunshine boy reaches the lowest depths felt since the loss at Inashiro, he has a new resolve! And just in time -- as we have NEW FIRST YEARS! Holy cow, I LOVE how these new characters have ALREADY shaken up the team dynamics in fun and fresh ways! There's SO MUCH potential with these new recruits and the second and third years are showing how they've grown over the past year as well!

Plus, we're already in a new tournament and there's so many exciting possibilities...this is going to be a fun season, I can already tell!

Yess we’re finally starting act II with new baby first years in the team!! You’re so right and so wrong on so many things and I cannot wait for you to see how it all plays out! The events in act II are some of my favs of the whole series so I’m super hyped for these next 15(?!) weeks. Idk if you’ve thought about picking up the manga where the anime stops but I hope it’s something you’ll consider! Either way though, super excited to continue this journey with you!

Literally can’t wait for you to see the next episode. I love Mei so much, he’s actually my favorite sports anime character of all time, and I’ve seen most of the big ones. Don’t worry about keeping track of the other teams first years, I still struggle with their names.

Man I'm never gonna be okay with Nittas coaching strategy. Call it weak or whatever but manipulating a kid with such negative reinforcement really rubs me the wrong way. Some kids never get over bad and negative coaches and it ruins their entire experience of the game after that. Hongo is already a pouty, negative kid, let's not give him a rage issue as a teenager. That being said, Hongos theme is so intimidating. I dont think I could think of a more intimidating soundtrack for such a heavy player. That shit is perfect honestly. You're right about the X on the scoreboard. It just means they didn't play that half of the inning cuz Seidou didn't score in the top half and Komadai was already ahead by 2 so there was no point to them playing the bottom half. In cases like the Seikou game when Miyuki hit that walk off homerun in extra innings they put 1X in the score because they didn't go through 3 outs. They just called it after Miyukis homerun because it was extra innings. I'd like to take this time to remind you, and everyone, that Sawamura is still the only pitcher at Seidou who's played all 9 innings of a game and won lol. Furuya technically only threw 8 there anyways because they didn't play the bottom of the 9th but still 😂 The scene at the end of episode 4 with Sawamura really is one of the hardest scenes to watch. It's so hard seeing him feel like he's not needed or important to the team. It's like that 1 game he played in at Koshien just erased all of season 2 for him and the fact that they wouldn't have made it to Koshien without him. Him taking dirt from the bullpen to specify "I'm not coming back to this spot" is so important to me and so symbolic and I love how you can tell Miyuki knows exactly why he did it. That pitching at Koshien was not Sawamuras best. That was not what he trained for in the off season at all and its so shitty that he didn't get to show off his improvements there. I love that Haruichi finally cut his hair. He does have such beautiful eyes and it's just a nice step toward him letting go of the hold he had on his brother's back to make his own path. Koushuus outfit showing up to Seidou was so good lol. He looks like such a preppy rich kid and I love it 😂 Masashis intro speech to the team was almost exactly like Tetsus minus the talk of going pro lol. "I can play all positions to not limit my potential" is what Tetsu said in his first year too lol Poor buddy Asada poor luck at being roomed with 2 DEMONS 😂😂 I'm sure he feels like he's being tortured from the heavens for some unthinkable crime he did lol. Fun fact about Asada: he's voiced by the same VA as Reki from Sk8 😂 It doesnt ever surprise me that Miyuki is excited and grinning over the fact that his roommate is some edgy kid who glares at him lol. Hes such a chaos king who loves a challenge even if it's his own teammate in his own room 🤣 Honestly this set shows me something that I'm so glad we got to see here and something I wish we could be seen in Haikyuu: the new first year's after our main characters. I've always hated how Haikyuu skipped over introducing any new first year's. Felt like such a miss on our part so I was sooooo thankful daiya did show us. Those girls in the stands need to get kicked out of the game for real lol. How annoying. Even if you show up to see 1 person and you don't know how the game is played have some respect 😤 I totally would've supported Haruno going over and fighting them. Defend your man! Sawamuras speed has actually jumped up quite a lot. In season 1 Chris said he wasn't even pitching at 130 km/h and now he's at 135 km/h. It's not crazy fast but its actually a pretty good speed for high schoolers. 150km/h + is honestly a pretty heavy exception with high school kids but Sawamuras speed right now is quite good especially in less than a year. You can really tell how much Miyuki wanted Sawamura to shine at Koshien. He seemed so disappointed that Sawamura got overly nervous and that he put so much pressure on himself. He was really going for the wow factor in that Eigen game to shut the stands up lol. No heckling his boyfriend. I know it's like a sad thing to show but seeing Shunshin as the ball boy is kind of hilarious to me everytime I see that scene. Not because he's the ball boy but because he's standing there in a helmet and a massive jacket lol. Like he looks like the coaches toddler that's just watching the game. It's so awful that such an amazing pitcher doesn't even get another chance in the official tournaments to make his name known. Haruichi ignoring Sawamura by the way was because he was annoyed by Sawamuras reaction to his new haircut lol. Sawamura was just being a dramatic bean but Haruichi didn't like how far he took it so they were kinda fighting/kinda not I dunno lol. Haruichi is just annoyed by him over that 🤣 So excited for next week's. I'm ready 😈

It's good to know I'm not the only one that struggles with keeping up with all the teams, hahaha! But THANK YOU! Seriously, I may give Mei grief, but he's one of my favorites in the series and next week...**fans self** Mei is GREAT. I can't wait!

Yessss, I cannot WAIT to be surprised this season by how these first years interact with their upperclassmen! Yeah, should be about 15 weeks and I'm afraid (though excited) it's going to FLY by! And hahaha, it's funny you mention the manga! I've talked on the Discord and I think I may have to pick up the manga where the anime leaves off! :) We'll see as we get closer; thanks for the kind words and comment!

I can definitely see how it rubs the wrong way – Hongo seems like he may be strong enough to be okay afterwards, but that strategy with someone that didn’t have that constitution? Yeah, it could definitely ruin them into adulthood, so I get your disdain! >.< I do love Hongo, though, and his theme; I hope we see more of him later in this season. Okay, that makes sense with the “X,” yay! ^^ Ahhh, point taken about Sawamura! I mean, I wasn’t going to flaunt that fact, buuuuuuuut…FACTS! XD The end of episode 4 was SO HARD TO WATCH! THE TEARS! I love that symbolism of the bull pen with Sawamura, but I hate that Sawamura almost erases all that hard work from season 2, but that is such a relatable feeling. And YES, Miyuki knows exactly why he took the bullpen dirt! :3 At least, the crowds will be surprised when Sawamura has a good day! :P Hahaha! YES! Haruichi’s haircut – we finally see his eyes on display! And making a name for himself!

Made another comment! :D Koshu DOES look like a preppy rich kid! I think he’s voiced by Tsukishima’s VA from Haikyuu? Fitting if so. And OOOHHH, Miyuki DOES love a challenge. Well, ho ho ho, I think Koshu is going to give him a run for his money! :3 I am SO going to be talking about Haikyuu in the next set of episodes, so it’s funny you bring that up here! 😊 Oohhhhh, I forgot about Tetsu’s intro speech! Hmmm, that’s interesting! He seems much BOLDER than Tetsu right off the bat; definitely younger brother vibes. Asada has my deepest sympathies – and OH, really?! Reki from SK8! That’s AMAZING! Yay! That poor boy…that should make his character dialogue intriguing to see later on. Those girls were super annoying; glad they got shut up! I waiting for Haruno to stand up for her man! 😊 I’m so glad Sawamura’s speed has gotten better, too! Chris would be proud! And that’s a great point; I’m glad that Miyuki wanted to show off Sawamura in this game and our sunshine boy gets to shine: yay!! And Haruichi being annoyed by Sawamura’s banter with his haircut, haha! Poor Haruichi! I am really sad about Shunshin not getting to play. ☹ At least we get to see him!
