*Maybe a Headphone Warning?*

We start Act 2 of the series, and I LOVE this episode and its setup, already! Some years have passed, and we see how our characters have changed/developed -- primarily "Powder," Jayce, Viktor (who I want to hug), and Caitlin (whom I really love in this).

Detective-y things, Pseudo-parental things, and that cliffhanger with a familiar - now even more badass and tattooed - face...I have a feeling I'm going to like this second act. My brother is silent for spoilers, but I think he agrees.

Thanks for watching with us and for the support!

Why wouldn't they guard the stone ? Well, it's not exactly Fort Knox, obviously, but the laboratory is basically in the middle of pilt over, close to where the government resides, so it's one of the most heavily guarded places by default. Plus, i doubt that Jayce and the gang are keeping security up to speed on their research, so there would be no concern for more security personel to be stationed there. Plus, Caitlyn mentioned that whoever did the job (Jinx) "overstepped", meaning it was outrageously bold to strike there, so not exactly something that could reasonably foreseen and maybe even added to people putting their guard down, since it never happened before. The guards being spread thin, because of the festivities certainly didn't help though, that much is for sure. Also, a word on Mel: She is extremely good at playing "the political game". Jayce kinda owes her for getting the chance to prove himself and his idea of hextech, which i think he is aware of. So he was kinda obliged to at least consider her proposal to reveal his current work, though we understand that she appealed to his relentless enthusiasm to score some trade deals. I think Heimerdinger understands this and was so pissed, because he understood where Jayce was originally going with the speech. Jayce then skipped his grand reveal (i think he literally skipped that part, because his great ending statement would have been the perfect follow up to it and at least to me it seems kinda mismatched without it, since it is the opposite of restraint), realizing that Heimerdinger was right, which in turn made Heimerdinger reconsider at the council meeting (Jayce is willing to take it slow), he sees the idealistic "boy" trying to find a healthy middle ground. But Mel then makes another move to bring Jayce into a position of debt to her stating that "being a scientist" is reason enough to be on the council, directly atttacking Heimerdinger's position in the process. Either Jayce joins and she extends her control or Heimderdinger's voice at the council meeting weakens. Either way, she improves her position. Girl is smart, dangerously so. She'd fit right in at King's Landing :) EDIT: Oh and btw, i know this is weeks from now, but when you eventually get to the end of the series, i highly recommend a series on Arcane by the youtuber "schnee", i'll probably mention it again then, so you don't run into spoilers, so no need to look the channel up now. I don't 100% agree with all of his interpretations, but the work he's done on analyzing a lot of stuff about Arcane is substantial to say the least and as good of a starting point as any imo if you want to go for a recap after that. He sometimes has this weird format where he talks really fast (ideal for all those people who like to watch tutorial videos at 2x speed, i assume) about a topic for 1min and while i really dislike the format, he crams in a lot into 1min ^^ So, the whole playlist can be watched in like 2hours or something like that. Again, highly recommended deep dive.

I have no idea if it's correct but the consensus seems to be that 7 years have passed since episode 3. Powder has turned into quite the murder child, she kills 11 people in this episode and with how the Firelights were so scared of "her" we can assume that those were far from the first ones. Love how Silco, this kingpin that has the whole underground in his grasp, is no match for a teenage daughter. Poor man, probably got more than he bargained for. 😂

The Goat

Yea I love the Silco Jinx dynamic. Pretty interesting stuff!

That’s a good point about not guarding the stone – that makes sense – and points out how much they underestimate the under city and what Jinx and the people there are willing to do. And I can SO see Mel in Game of Thrones, hahahaha; your comment about King’s Landing got me – so true! It’s so sad seeing Jayce getting “wooed” into the political game as well – it makes sense with him hearing her out, but you can just see how the gears are turning and how Mel is helming the wheel at this point. Yeah, she is very smart and dangerous! I agree – and it makes me nervous for Jayce and how he’s getting swept up in all this. @.@ Ooh, and thank you!! I don’t usually watch a lot of reactors (because of spoilers), but once I’m done that would be neat to look up their work!! Thanks so much for the comment and recommendation! :D
