In this installment, I look at Chapters 61 & 62, The extra "Paper Balls," and the Season 2 Extra, "Iron Hook!"

We finally get the entrance of the Yiling Patriarch and the deaths of Chao and Jiao (y'all were NOT joking about how grisly they were), as it seems our flashback is about to take a hiatus?! Not that I'm complaining, mind you!

We also look at "Iron Hook," which technically takes place at the end of the novel, and follows WuXian on a mystery with Baby Ling and our sweet boy disciples! Just the happiness needed after this heartbreaker of a chapter set!

Thank you for listening with me and for all the support!

Ah yes, Wang Linjiao in The Untamed also went to her room to gather her jewelry and Wen Chao's gifts to bail on him. Now then, the thing I wanted to imply the last time. It's a highly specific torture, to make someone eat his own legs, isn't it? And people sometimes tend to inflict the same torture they went through themselves. And the Burial Mounds is a barren place where food hunting must be very difficult. But some bodies lying there might still be recent and savalgeable. So... there is a fanon Wei Ying did that to Wen Chao since he himself was forced to. There. And that specific phrase from The Untamed can be kinda related to that. Some writers take that idea further, hence zombie!Wei Ying or vampire!Wei Ying etc. Yeah. And then the extras, yesss. Postcanon domestic detective couple letting their ducklings to solve the mystery by themselves! And Lans acting on orders of Hanguang-jun to make sure Wei Ying eats well! OMG. Pure happiness. Pray for the poor innkeeper where all of them take residence. Present timeline next time!~

Ivan is Yda

Wuxian and his kids, and the kids watching over him as "dad" instructed. QwQ so cute.

RIGHT?! So adorable! I love WuXian being all parental and yet still chaotic with the Juniors. :3

Ooohhhh, that's very interesting about WWX forcing the same punishment onto Chao that he himself had to endure....interesting! Either way, that death for Chao and Jiao was very gruesome -- definitely makes the Yiling Patriarch's entrance into the story "officially" that much more intimidating! And luckily, we get the adorable extra with WuXian being parental with the disciples -- I LOVE that LWJ wanted to make sure WWX was eating properly while he was away...so precious. And **ahem** Yes, I don't envy that innkeeper. That's for sure. @.@

I like how the novel doesn't sugarcoat how frightening the Yiling Patriarch really is. I mean, the Yiling Patriarch consumed by resentful energy (both outside and inside of him) just adds another grey, fascinating yet daunting shade to the character of Wuxian. I love it. On the contrary, the wholesome *postmarital* Wangxian extra is just amazing. We have many more wonderful extra chapters ahead and this is just a taste! Look forward to next week!

Nooo, the novel did not sugar coat at ALL! I like that it shows how far our protagonist can fall, and the harm it can do to those around him. T_T And then we get the exact opposite with the fluff of him and Wangji -- I am sooooooo looking forward to what's to come for our boys; it's good that amidst the angst, we get reassurance that things will be okay for them in the future. ^^ Thanks for the kind words and comment! Oh, next week will be fun!
