*HEADPHONE WARNING, MOST LIKELY*

Oh, hey, friends. How are you? How am I? Oh, fine. Just starting the new year off with the introduction of the Yiling Patriarch and the live action version of one of my favorite episodes from the donghua! Nothing special. ;)

Seriously, these episodes were legitimately creepy, beautiful, heartbreaking -- allllll rolled into one (or two, rather). Ever since Episode 15, there's been that distinct tone shift, and while it's crushing my soul, I'm also all here for it!

Thank you for watching with me, and for the support!

Those eyes in cranberry sauce XD Yes, it's a real shame we can't have zombies killing Wang Lingjao in The Untamed. It's supposed to be all illusions and mindfuckery with Wei Ying's powers for now since "ghosts don't exist", but still very impressive. And that Lingjao in red is very material, judging by her claws making marks! I'm waiting SO HARD for you to read those parts in the novel! I'm actually very impressed with Wen Zhuliu's character during his last scenes. He's obviously fed up with Wen Chao's ridiculousness and uselessness but still tries his best in protecting and caring for him. Dat entrance, girrrl! Wangji going all "if he evil why he sexy" and we viewers falling in the same pit as him. That's our fate now! Heartbroken and hor(rified)ny.

Yes the Yiling Patriarch has entered the chat! You're so right. The change from Wuxian to Yiling Patriarch is both thrilling and sad. You just mentioned in the novel review this week that Wuxian realized "When everyone flattered me in fear of my power, Wangji was the one who scolded me; when everyone despises me, Wangji is the one who stands by my side". I just can't help but reading this along with Wangji and Cheng's different reactions to Wuxian's comeback as the Yiling Patriarch in this episode. For Cheng, the priority of that moment was surely to defeat the Wens and took revenge on them, so a powerful Yiling Patriarch would be good. But it was Wangji who truly cared for Wuxian's temperament and well-being, not his formidable power even at a critical campaign moment like that. And later, when the power of Wuxian went out of control, it was Wangji who understood and believed in his genuine intentions. These two episodes are simply such a wonderful point to continue our Untamed journey in 2022, and I can't wait for more to come :)

Hahaha, is that what it was?! I honestly couldn't tell, but it was freaky either way. I scare easily, though. I like how eerie and surreal they ended up making this, despite the censorship. There were elements really well done, but you're so right, I cannot WAIT to read the novel and get to this part!! And Zhuliu's character went down like a champ up until the end, serving dutifully to the bitter end of his life...and Wangji...having a clear confliction between "oh my god he's hot" and "oh my god why is he evil?!" XD We're all in the same boat as him now, too! Hahahahaha! "Heartbroken and Hor(rified)ny" :)

Yessss, I can't believe we're here!! The Yiling Patriarch's appearance was so hyped, but also reminded me how tragic it is for WWX. And I love the coincidental tie-in of that moment in the novel for this week to the Patriarch's entrance, because you're spot on -- Wangji demonstrates that in this episode; his apprehension of the power WuXian's obtained and how it's clearly changed him already. It's so heartbreaking! But so wonderful at the same time...I'm verrrrrry excited to see what's to come!

Episode 20 is one of my favourite episodes in The Untamed. But many more good episodes are waiting for u, haha🥳

"You can save me but you can't save them all" I love this line and what it sets up. So good. I have such a love-hate relationship with episode 20. It's so creepy and I can't stand creepy stuff but it's also so good. The hug from Jiang Cheng will always be one of my favourite moments. I love it so much. Wish you a wonderful day!!

YES, the set up in these episodes is SO GOOD! And I'm personally a fan of creepy things, so I really liked the episode (I just don't like being outright scared, hahaha), but I live for the Cheng/Yanli/WuXian moments, so that hug was verrry welcome, too! :) Such a good set of episodes! Thanks for the kind words and I hope you have a great day, too!
