**DEAR LORD, THE HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I'm a feral mess this episode, just to forewarn you all.

Armin's one of my favorite characters in the show, so clearly, this episode put me through the wringer with everything that goes down between him, Eren, and Bertholdt.

And Levi vs. Zeke? Did NOT go the way I expected -- but then, that's what I get for underestimating an Ackerman on a Mission. Problem is...Zeke's getting away, now! The battle is reaching its climax seemingly, but as to what we do next (especially with that damn syringe)?! I have thoughts, theories, and I'm glad/frustrated I'm only waiting a day to watch Episode 18!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

They really made us go through losing Hange (or at least thinking so), Erwin, and then Armin 3 episodes in a row. Isayama is crueler than this world.

The truck

"He seems mad" i mean, at this piint we dont know why he wants to kill them. But imagine that "your enemy is so disgusting that they would sacriface their elderly and children just to stay proud" if anything, i'd probably be very mad and ready to kill that nation. IF i was in zeke's position i mean. Also, the ep19 will be amazing xmas gift for us patreons. //me writing this while walking is bad idea and im not bothered enough for grammar check.. yet at least

This was a hard week for reactions.. first Link Click ep 5, then Yona and the blue dragon's backstory and now Armin's determination. Many bottles of wine were drunk during these reactions. Luckily we have BSD Wan tomorrow hahaha. There are two (or three, not sure anymore ) episodes of AOT that have perfect score 10/10 in imdb and this is one of them. Oh, Zeke I can't take him seriously anymore because all I hear is Adam haha But Levi, oh dear Levi... as a fan of the adult trio (Levi, Erwin and Hange) the emotions he showed while massacring the Beast Titan and the way he wants to keep his promise to Erwin, shows how HE is the actual beast, but the most human in the inside. Ohhhh, you're asking the right questions haha everything will be have an answer just not sure how our brains take those answers. Anyways, great reaction as always, can't wait to see the next one :)

Remember how I said that Armin gambles his own life? This is what I meant. Please know that between this and the end of episode 18, during the manga release, it was two months. We had TWO MONTHS of no resolution. Only pain. I've always thought that during this episode, that Armin's eyes look like a sea storm. Him having these big blue eyes along with his longing for the outside world always made me think that his eyes were like both the sky and the sea. That Armin himself embodied these big blue expanses of freedom, so when he comes up with these plans, when he becomes the "devil" as Bertoldt called him, he's almost a force of nature in his own way. He's not a beast like an Ackerman, and he doesn't have an endless spring of rage like Eren, but he's a quiet storm, easily underestimated in his distruction. I have nothing really more to add other than that. I just love Armin, the sweet coconut head.

The Weird Pianist

Reiner and Bertholdt knew that Historia had something to do with the government so they probably investigated, perhaps using Annie in wall Sina, and found out that the true king was Reiss and told Zeke about it. I sent you a video to react to on Twitter for the Recap. Not sure if you saw it. Make sure you add it to the list.

I was trying to think how Annie could have told them what she found out in Sina, since she didn't really have time to talk with Reiner when he carved the message on her hand and they didn't see her again once she went inside wall Sina...but maybe that will be addressed later? I was just pointing that out, but there's probably a way Zeke found out, so it's fine! :) And ooh! I did not see it! It's probably because I have all the AOT stuff muted on there! If you want to send me a direct message on here or on Twitter with a link to it, that would be fine! :D Thanks!

When I first saw this it killed me, but to be honest I felt Armin had death flags all the way back in season 3 episode 12 where Eren, Mikasa and Armin are all talking about the past together. It felt a bit ominous when Armin got all excited about showing Eren the sea and it just cuts to Levi sitting there looking..unsure? I wanted to say something when it came out but definitely didn't want to spoil anything. I figured you either glossed over it or because you love Armin so much you sort of waved it off in denial. xD Either way, thank you for all these reactions!

Armin is my absolute favourite AOT character. When I first saw this, I was completely blindsided. Despite how ruthless this show can be, I thought he was an integral part of the show and was totally safe. The pure shock I felt! I cried so much 😅

One thing which really gets to me this episode is the fact that Marlow assumes Hitch is still asleep since it’d be so early for her. But when we see her in the present time, she’s awake, looking out the window worrying for Marlow. That, and I love how Mikasa and Jean are so supportive of Armin. There were multiple heroes of this battle, on both sides as well for their respective groups. But I really do think Isayama’s trying to hone in on the fact that what makes you a real hero is selflessly sacrificing selfish desires for others instead of yourself.

And on top of that, I think this episode is a great call-back to Armin’s lines in the past. So this was kind of foreshadowed in episode 16 with the Armin and Annie conversation/ Episode 22 Armin and Jean conversation. Armin says these lines: “I think if you know the reason why you must be sacrificed, sometimes you must, not that I want to.” Is what Armin told to Annie as to his thoughts on potentially dying in the Survey Corps. “I try not to dwell on it, if I pictured how I was going to die, I probably wouldn’t be able to fight.” Is what Armin said to Jean when he was lamenting over the fact that he couldn’t help but wonder who’d be next or whether he’d be next to die in Episode 22. Both in Season 1.

Also last comment I swear— it’s so amazing that Eren defeated the Colossal Titan in Human Form, not as a Titan, but rather as a Scout flying in the air, just like how he envisioned as a kid. Being a member of the Survey Corps, taking on the titans, and avenging his Mother.

The determination on everyone's face this episode omg. Random thought but why does Eren peeking behind the wall in the flashback with Armin look so much like that one titan who was hiding behind a tree in the forest😂😂😂😂😂I think it was in the episode during the talk with Ymir, Reiner, Bertholdt & Eren😂Anyway favorite episode of the season. The scouts sacrifice. Marlo my guy😭Levi destroying the Beast Titan. It's ok Romania we were meant to feel despair & hopeless so the thought of Levi going up against the Beast Titan felt scary. Which made this moment so epic after so much loss. Levi promised Erwin omg emotional all throughout. Zeke dropping lore in the middle of a battle?!?! I was screaming when you said that cuz they always do it when you least expect it😂😂😂😂Armin you precious bean omg I cried alot. Armin did that! Any Armin slander has always been invalid! PERIOD!!😂Powerful episode. The comeback with Eren sealing the hole & finally taking down Bertholdt. Not as a titan but as the scout he's always been. Chills everytime!!! Refreshing😎😂🤣I screamed with you lol We needed that win. Jean, Mikasa, Conny, Sasha & SURPRISE Hange amazing. Mikasa & Levi were not playin this episode. They felt the walls closing in, time running out. Enough is enough REINER COME OUT!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽Eren's face coming to terms with Armin's sacrifice😭STOP!!😭It's sad AOT hours now.

You’re too smart Romania! I was thinking I would get to see the situation next episode surprise you, but you figured it out by the end. 😆 You predicted humanity gaining the Colossal Titan and Bertholdt having Death flags too. I’m getting ready for you to fully predict what’s in the basement next episode at this rate lol. Still fun to watch you put the puzzle pieces together. Wrong about Levi vs. Beast Titan though. Last couple episodes when you said you didn’t feel good about that, I kept thinking “oh ye of so little faith in Levi”. Couldn’t comment cuz it would spoil it. Levi is pretty OP. That’s why he’s the one with the serum. That fight was epic and the animation was gorgeous. A lot of the animation this episode was gorgeous.

When you asked yourself a few episodes ago if Marlo becomes the new Marco I thought '.. Well, kinda.' How can people still not like Armin after this episode? I really don't get it. Armin did the same thing as Erwin. He gave up on his dream to get to their goal. Jean and Mikasa being supportive friends. We love to see that. The redhead kid searching for someone else to be alive gives me chills. How we see him walking through all the corpses. All alone. I loved that Eren defeated the colossal titan in his normal form. Before everything got so complicated it was his goal to do that. As a scout. And he got to defeat him excactly like he wanted to as a kid. And Zeke, yeah I don't know how to feel about him. He's an intriguing character indeed. We get some interesting things to hear from him and it makes me want to know their side of the story even more. Wish you a wonderful day!!

romaniablack

Hahahaha, I WAS ye of little faith with Levi vs. the Beast Titan! :D Thanks for not spoiling me on Levi's OP-ness, but it all makes sense! I loved that fight, and yes the animation was so on point this episode! But yeah, The Basement is still such a mystery! Which does have me excited! :D

romaniablack

UGH, right?! I had no clue Marlow would already be dead like this -- but seriously Armin...all the character development! I love Jean and Mikasa being supportive but YES, the red head -- the idea that he searched all alone for someone alive...it's so creepy and haunting. Ugh. And yessss, we all came full circle and Eren defeated Bertholdt in human form...it's insanity!! And ahhh, I'm going to reserve judgment on Zeke until we know more, but he's a weird character to me. Thank you for the kind words and have a wonderful day, too!
