When watching in Funimation to get the Japanese version, you might need to change to simulcast in the settings

OHHH! Thank you! I just recorded Episode 2 already, but I will see if that works for Episode 3 -- thank you for that tip! I'll let you know if it works! EDIT: Funimation will only give me the option of "Uncut" and not "Simulcast," too for season 2. Boooooo....ah, well, this version is okay, too.

My first thought when I saw you uploaded this was “My sweet summer child” because after watching your No Regrets OVA reaction and your Recap earlier today, I knew you would be nowhere ready for what this episode would bring. Your reaction to Miche was so visceral (I literally still almost cry every time I watch it) and not to mention our introduction to the Beast Titan 😱😱

I just checked myself actually, there is no Simulcast only for the first two episodes. Moving forward, it should be an option for the rest of the series!

Ahahahaha, well, I ammmmm technically a summer child! Haha, ohhh, I was NOT prepared for the Beast Titan, or for Miche's death. This was the perfect opening of a season to hype me for the rest of it! ^^

So as for why the Survey Corps kids were in civilian clothes being made to wait, I think they were under mild suspicion since they were all classmates of Annie. I imagine Erwin wanted to make absolutely sure no one would get word to her. The ones in on the plan were all people who had almost been killed by the Female Titan - Eren, Mikasa, Armin and Jean (minus Reiner, since he wasn't necessary to the plan so there was no reason to include him). Same reason why Erwin didn't even tell his own superiors - he didn't know who he could trust. Even if they weren't in league with Annie, they might have contacted her out of friendship or something. Best to keep them isolated until she was captured.

I am so ready for this! edit: First I got to say, this has been the most genuine reaction to this episode I have ever seen! This episode feels like such a change of pace than the first season, I don't think people expect it and catches them by surprise, that's aot for ya! I would say its super common to get confused or miss information during this episode due to the sheer amount of things going on and the emotion it puts on the viewer, but at least we can re-watch it! Ahh, Mike's death always gets to me.. he literally could not comprehend the situation and froze, plus his body was messed up from the mini titan. It goes back to what Levi says about how the survey corps are always at risk of things they cant comprehend to happen in the first place, which is really scary in already such a scary world. I cant believe we got so little Mike though, they really know how to tease our emotions.. Attachment? NOPE. Fantastic reaction, so hyped for this season!

That makes a lot of sense! Yeah, Erwin seems like the type to dot his "i's" and cross his "t's" to the point where he would make sure he was two steps ahead of the situation -- it makes sense now why he would want to secure the other 104th regiment, to make sure that no one could interact with her. Great point! :D

Miche's death was straight up GRUESOME! Oh man, I am LOVING this season so far! It's exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to see what's in store! :D

Oh, thank you so much fort he kind words -- holy smokes, this episode COMPLETELY caught me off guard -- the Beast Titan, Miche's death, the ED, the OP, the tension ALREADY...it's like we just picked up where we left off with the Season One finale and hit the ground running! Poor Miche, he definitely froze, but I would SO have been him in that situation! I can't blame him...the Beast Titan looks on another LEVEL and I'm so intrigued to see where this season takes us! :D

Mikes death is definitely the most traumatizing we've seen so far. I also forgot how early that was. It was nice watching the first season again but now I'm so ready for this season, shit is going to get down. Wish you a wonderful day!!

After rewatching season one with you, Mike’s death hit so much harder 😥. And man was it brutal. Who is gonna sniff out the Titans now? Also, I kind of don’t like that that one OVA showed the titan talking because when you see the beast titan just sit down and try to have a conversation, holy hell was that freaky. Still pretty terrifying though. We’re in for a ride.

RIGHT?! I hadn't thought of that -- no more sniffing out Titans! @.@ I think the OVA eased me into the possibility of titans talking, but NOTHING prepared me for a dang full on conversation from the Beast Titan. SO freaky! I'm seriously hyped for this season!!
