With the Part One of the Final Free! twin movies, a new trailer surfaces, and I have to dive in and see what all KyoAni has in store for us...which apparently...might be a LOT!

Before this trailer, I thought the first movie would deal with the match against Kinjo that would end with Haru winning and ready to face Albert in the second movie. BUT this trailer had WAY TOO much angst and I am now predicting an ending that will leave us heartbroken until we get the second one. I am scared … ALSO, The theory of Rin’s dad been the one in the accident makes SO much sense because like you said, they are both from Iwatobi…I am shocked I haven’t thought about it before! My guess was Albert’s coach since he’s in a wheelchair and seems bitter about caring about anything but swimming. Plus, it would be a good way to connect the three “MCs” coaches. BUT, now that I think about it, that coach may be too old to be the one. Rin’s father may be a more likely choice. Avoiding spoilers for this movie will be near impossible! I don’t know how I am going to resist!!!

RIGHT?! Free! doesn't mess around -- they take the knife and go straight for the throat with the angst. I guess since they only have two movies left (*sob*) they are just going for it, but I agree, I think Rin's going to be the focus of the angst -- we're getting ties to his dad, theories about Ryuuji and his father being friends -- I hadn't considered Ryuuji and Rin's dad being former swimming teammates, but it's very possible! It's going to be SO HARD avoiding spoilers! I'll have to mute ALL the threads on Twitter like I've done with AOT...but I have a feeling they're going to go hard with these last movies, and just from the animation we've seen so far, I'm REALLY excited! :D :D
