So...how do we set up for the season finale? Well, we bring the fight to the up-until-now untouchable confines of Wall Sina, offer a daring escape plan with our main trio and survey corps, and then have an intense revelation to cap it all off!

And of all people playing chess and waging bets against one another in this series, I didn't expect it to be Armin and Annie! Holy smokes...

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

A few clarifications: Annie not wanting to go down the stairs is a callback to the well back when Eren was trying to turn into the titan under the supervision of the Scouts. Limiting a Titan's movement is a very important tactical advantage, so trapping Annie underground was the best course of action. Annie knew that of course, and yes, she suspected as much from her interactions with Armin and the rest of the group. "Suicidal maniac" is her basically stopping to pretend, since that is the phrase that Armin used against her to make her believe that she stepped on Eren when she caught up to Armin, Jean and Reiner during the expedition. It's her way of saying "you fooled me back then, you won't succeed again". At least that's how i take it. I find Annie's motivations fascinating. She seems to be a "good person", trying to do the "right thing". But what is the right thing ? Punishing bad people (the corrupt military police officers) ? How do her actions toward Eren fit in there ? Imo though, it's not just to be "human". What makes one a human is being good, according to Marlo. So i believe Annie confronting Armin with that concept is legitametely trying to find the right course of action and being unsure of how to proceed. Armin's trump card is Eren of course. For whatever reason, Annie was looking for Eren during the expedition. The danger of him being executed, ultimately forces her hand, but notice that she put on the ring right then and there. She was on guard all along. Far from stupid if you ask me. PS: This is the episode with the most crucial characterization of Jean, if the fandom is to be believed. Every horse we see from now on, could possibly be Jean. We really can't tell the difference ;-)

Yes! I can't remember if I mentioned it in the discussion or not (could have all been in my brain), but I did think of that -- that Annie knew if she went down there, she'd be limited in what she could do to fight back. The strategy in this show and how everyone is thinking different things at the same time is crazy good! :D

Marlo reminds me a lot of Marco with a little mix of Jean. Annie is still so intriguing to me. Hitch annoys me too. When I first watched it I was pretty young so I had no Idea that it was Annie, even though we got a lot of hints, so I was really suprised. XD Because we didn't got to see what happened in the Survey corps between they came back and now, made the reveal so much more interesting. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Ooooh, that's a really good point -- Marlo is the love child of Jean and Marco? I'm HERE for it! I really hope to see more with him in this series! And YES, Annie is SO intriguing...I want to know what all is going on in her head...that reveal, though! I didn't expect to see the animation on Armin (the hurt and pain he showed) like it was this episode -- SO GOOD! Thank you for the kind words and have a great day, too!
