I hated that Crunchyroll was slow watching this episode, but you know what I LOVED? THIS EPISODE! Between Mori proving why he's a serious threat (and becoming more and more intriguing), to Dazai showing why he's a perfect match for Mori, to me FINALLY getting why y'all ship Dazai and Chuuya! This episode was SO GOOD! Lots to talk about!

Little Dazai-kun, already in bandages and having dead eyes! Two directors obviously having joint history! Fukuzawa winning the fight, Mori being the one to initiate cooperation after all. "Do you still think like a little girl", indeed! And Kunikida being the most oblivious since he's pretty much the only innocent one in the Agency... aside from Kenji, of course. Oh god, I truly love and fear Dazai when he has noone around to be nice and sweet for. His cruelty and bantering is definitely another mask, but he enjoys it as well! A good actor indeed, and what is the truest truth of him? Maybe not even Oda knew. Double Black banters, flirting and unshakable trust and grumpy care... Oh yeah. That's what I'm here for. That's the moment anyone could fall in love with them, and with Chuuya especially. Lovecraft, though! That's not an ability alright XD He's jut that. The Great Old one, no explanation. Good thing Chuuya has some tricks to counteract that. More details in next season XD There is obviously so much fanons and discussions of them! And that aftercredit scene, Chuuya is left sleeping... but his clothes are folded neatly behind him. Obviously Dazai had to ditch him. Even if it's not his intention... Chuuya has to be disappointed and gruff about him, while admiring his wits. That's their dynamic and who is Dazai to change it. Oh MY God THAT TRANSLATION AGAIN. Didn't they have enough time to fix it?! The code names are fine even if the phrase was botched, but "something disgraceful" is just Chuuya's ability lvl 2 name, "Corruption". "In the tainted sorrow", pretty much the same words. "Buddy"? Nope, that was "partner". Ginro in "Kokeshi Ginro" means "Silver wolf" so it's not a name, more like an alias. Fukuzawa, yess. People who love and spoil cats the most are often ignored by them XD Good thing he has a resident tiger now! The limitations of Chuuya's ability are truly questionable. Judging by what the manga says, he needs to touch a person or thing (obviously using gravity on himself is available always). Maybe those grunts crushed from afar are just a cinematic oversimplification, to make it more cool, just like naming your ability before using it. Or probably he threw little stones already loaded with gravity to do that.

I love this episode so much because my Dazai and Chuuya shipper heart just can't deal. No specifics of course but don't worry, there will be more Dazai & Chuuya. Their bond is literally my favorite thing in the entire series. There's no way anyone could ever convince me that they actually hate each other because as you saw in this episode, despite the banter, the concern on Chuuya's face when he thought Dazai was hurt and the fond look on Dazai's face after Chuuya passed out - is just too adorable.

Oh man, I've been waiting for this episode! Dazai and Mori are extremely similar. I really want to know how exactly Dazai joined the Port Mafia in the first place (I'm an anime only so I don't know if the manga goes deeper into his past). And Dazai and Chuuya! I love their relationship so much, it's so fun! I could watch a whole spin off of their banter and be totally fine with it. Season 2 really sold the series for me. I enjoyed the first season and getting to know the characters but man, this season just has so much packed into it and there's still much more to go! Out of curiosity, will you be reacting to the dead apple movie? Sorry if I missed that announcement but I can't wait for more of your commentary! Have a lovely day!

I would say there is a lot of mistranslation. Dazai meant "I know everything about you, your attack patterns, your timing, and even the pattern of your breathing(*wink*)" I have no idea where the “thrust” came in though. (maybe it meant punches?) When Chuuya held Dazai with his collar the proper translation should've been "Are you going to use corruption (Chuuya's unleashed "gift")?" not "do something disgraceful". Although "for the tainted sorrow" is Chuuya's ability, he phrased it in a way where it seemed as though it was Dazai's. Given that ONLY Dazai can stop it, this is what makes their partner dynamics interesting. ANOTHER MISTRANSLATION was the buddy part. It was supposed to be "Partner", which is much more intimate than "buddy". Crunchyroll not paying attention it seems. While it seemed like Dazai just left Chuuya there, you also see that Dazai went and searched for Chuuya's fedora that blew away when Chuuya used his ability. He even placed it neatly with Chuuya's folded coat by his side and wiped away the blood that was on his face. In the MANGA, it showed that Dazai took his time and sew a picture of a slug on the inside of the fedora as well. Also! An interesting fact is that it is canon that the "double black" hate = like. So when you take another look at their conversation.....that says A LOT LOL.

Oh, I'm so ready for more Dazai and Chuuya content after this episode! That little fist bump to Dazai's chest? That may have won me over entirely, haha! Yeah, that back and forth banter is all a "lover's quarrel" -- 100% the moment Chuuya ran over concerned about Dazai, you saw his actual feelings. UGH, muh heart! ^^

Dazai and Mori are so similar it's scary -- I think that's what makes their dynamic so intriguing to me! And I agree -- I liked the first season, but this second one has sold the series to me! :D And there's still so much to go!! And YES! I forget sometimes how innocent Kunikida is; good point! And that showdown between Mori and the President was just *chef's kiss* with the animation! And yessss, it's so obvious the bond between these two; the banter, flirty looks, and all of that -- I see why people are shipping it! :) I can't wait to hopefully see more of them! Yeah, Lovecraft is just...The Great Old One. Nothing scary about that, no siree. And the little fist bump from Chuuya to Dazai's chest? Dazai folding his clothes for him? So cute. :3 Yeah, this episode apparently had some odd translations...so curious..but it's okay. I don't think it sullied the episode for me. And that's a good point about the president and his resident Tiger he has now. ^^ That's a good point about the stones being thrown! He would have been able to do that and they just got caught in the crossfire! I can't wait to see more Chuuya after this episode! :D

We saw already a lot that Mori and Dazai are pretty similar. Maybe it's because Dazai was so young when he was in the port mafia and it looks like he was close to Mori, that he started to adapt his mannerisms. What I wonder is that if Fukuzawa really didn't knew about Dazai's "plan" with the port mafia would they really let him go alone to get Q? It's not like Dazai could have done a lot against the Guild. As much as Chuuya and Dazai fight, would they be so concerned for each other if they really didn't care? They're like an old married couple, always bantering but they still love each other. XD Like I said before I'm not a fan of Dazai but two of my favourite ships are with him. How? XD Wish you a wonderful day!!

That could very well be! Dazai was clearly young and probably impressionable at that age. Yessss, Chuuya and Dazai are an old married couple with their banter, and I'm here for it. I'm curious about how much the President truly knows about the situation as well. And HA! The chemistry with Dazai and both Chuuya and Oda for me are through the roof -- I definitely don't trust Dazai, though, so I understand your sentiments! :P Thanks so much and have a great day, too!
