We get backstory on our Queen, Mikasa, and mannn...someone give this woman a hug! I liked Mikasa's character from the start, but this has cemented her as a loyal, fierce, badass warrior woman!

And, of course, her main inspiration is our main character, whom we have just seen dismembered and eaten...neat.

Thanks for watching with me and for the support!

Well, I’ve decided to call the beginning of this episode “Armin’s Trauma Reel” since he’s obviously going through the ringer. When he finally comes to after the whole ordeal with Eren and the titan, it shows that he has sort of low view of himself. Which makes sense because later and the episode it shows he doesn’t want to keep having to be saved by Eren and Mikasa. Which reminds in the first episode where he didn’t take Eren’s hand saying “I can get up by myself” or something of the. Its the same thing, like you said, with Connie. He doesnt take his hand and just goes off on his own, thinking about how the world is hell and about his childhood of being weak and being saved by his friends. Which leads him to running into a wall and falling, ouch. And in the manga I remember from the bat we see that Franz doesn’t have his legs down and such and the first time i watched I just thought Armin was being a bit of a debbie downer because if what he went through, haha poor guy. But, yeah Armin has been my favorite character since I watched aot and december and is my favorite character in all of anime so I may ramble about him a bit. And Eren, yeah in that flashback we see that he’s always been a badass little kid and that he takes action, no matter if the action is literal murder of two adult men. He’s just built different, okay !! He is a little crazy, but I think that just makes interesting protagonist to follow. It has been really nice watching these earlier episodes along with you since it has been a little while since my first watch. It makes realize little details I did either forget or not see!

This was such a good reaction hahahaha. I like how you go back through the episode and analyze. Just so you know, Levi's last name isnt revealed until way later (i dont wanna say exactly when bc ig its a spoiler). So yeah try not to think about it too much for right now lol. Also too, Mikasa being Asian kinda ties back to what jean said when he first saw her. He said something like "ive never seen anyone that looked like you before, you have beautiful black hair".

I feel so bad for Armin, getting saved from his best friend and then seeing how he gets eaten. I really like the parallels between Mikasa and Armin and their perspective to the world. What I want to know is, why did Grisha didn't even try to let Eren not see the Corpses? This is traumatizing, especially for a child. I mean it is good that Eren wanted to save Mikasa but that was really dumb. Like his father said he was really lucky. I think it says a lot about Eren's character that he was able to just kill two people in this young age. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Thank you so much for the kind words!! I love analyzing after watching, so I'm glad others like it as well! :D But thanks for the heads up! :) And I hadn't even made that connection about what Jean said, but that makes so much more sense, now! :)

Armin has SUCH a trauma reel, right? I feel so bad for him! And YES, tying back to that first episode with Mikasa and Eren trying to help him -- the symbolism is so good in this show! I like that the anime takes its time to reveal that about Franz; we can kind of tell as an audience that he's dead already, but then that shot is revealed and it just punches it even further. :( I really like Armin as a character! And yessss, Eren is a bit crazy and reckless -- those flaws definitely make him an engaging protagonist. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how all these details early on compare to the later seasons! Thanks so much for the kind words!! :D

YES! I like Armin and Mikasa as characters, so I felt so bad for them this episode! An no JOKE, Grisha...what the heck?! Yeah, one of Eren's biggest flaws is just like Grisha says; he doesn't think things through fully before acting, so it can lead to reckless decisions and in this case, he just got lucky. Funny how that parallels back to the present. @_@ Thanks so much for the comment and kind words; have a great day, too!
