We're only 12 episodes into this lengthy series, but it's already got me in the FEELS hard with Chris's character and his conviction! He and Sawamura making a battery? His father showing up? The team rallying for him? SO GOOD.

And then there's this cocky blonde for the other team, who's already seemingly "figured out" Chris and is planning to push him to his limits....SHOW. Don't be hurting Chris, now, ya hear?!

I refreshed my browser and suddenly a new post from Romania appeared! I'm commenting before I watch this time lol but can I just say how happy I am that you are reacting to this series? There's maybe 2 other channels I've found that have reacted to this and neither offer the quality of insight and commentary that you do, so I'm super excited and glad you are enjoying this show so far! I've spent the last few days sheltering from the heat and binge watching the first 2 seasons, for maybe the 4th time now? lol. It's just so easy to sit back and go through 10 episodes at a time⚾

Since I dropped this show like 3 times I won't really comment on it but when it comes to seiyuu's I have to write one. XD Sawamura is voiced by Ryota Osaka who also voices Akaashi from Haikyuu. Furuya's seiyuu is Nobunaga Shimazaki who voices Haru from free. Namikawa Daisuke voiced Chris and also Oikawa from Haikyuu. We didn't got much of Yuki but he's voiced by Hosoyan, Sousuke and Nezumi, which you are probably a bit more familiar with since you watched some anime with him now. XD Then we got Miyuki who is voiced by Sakurai Takahiro who voices Fritzgerald from BSD. Masuko is voiced by Hatano Wataru who voices Motojiro from BSD. The older Kominato brother is voiced by Okamoto Nobuhiko who voices Noya from Haikyuu. And last but not least Hanae Natsuki who voices Haruichi and also Hoshiumi from Haikyuu. That are the ones that I can remember and also where I know that you're familiar with. The list was longer than I thought it would be. XD Wish you a wonderful day!

Thank you so much! I can see how it would be daunting for a reactor to dive into a series of this scale and episode-length, but watching three episodes at a time has surprisingly not been as difficult as I thought going in -- mainly because the story flows so nicely, but I'm surprised at just HOW MUCH character development we get in this series already and seeing these new characters pop up and already have arcs! It's really cool! I'm definitely enjoying the series, especially now that we have Chris in this! :) Thanks for the comment!

2021-10-19 03:32:30 I think what shocks me the most is that Sawamura and AKAASHI share a seiyuu -- that FLOORS me. Their personalities and voices could not be more different in terms of characters. Furuya's VA makes COMPLETE sense! And OOOOOOHHHHHH -- OOOOOHHHH -- Oikawa's VA voices Chris! NO WONDER I love him! As a massive Oikawa fan and fan of Daisuke, that makes total sense. ^^ And of COURSE, I like Yuki, too, and he voices Sousuke and Nezumi. Again, another of my fave seiyuus...this show is pretty stacked in terms of voice actors! And Miyuki and Fitzgerald share a VA? Interesting! Thank you for all this information! I love that this anime is sometimes unpredictable like when it gives you a super intense Sawamura animation and speech so you think he’s going to make an amazing pitch and then he hits the batter 😂😂 I just love Harucchi so much! He’s shy but a little evil at the same time and I love him. And I love how Sawamura respects him so much, even calling him sir! Which makes sense since technically Harucchi was the first one on the team to believe in him and help him get closer to his goal of becoming first string. And the Kominato brothers relationship is so great and I just know you are going to love them. 💕💕 I also love how Sawamura is always yelling support to his teammates from the bullpen even though he claims he doesn’t like watching baseball. He’s just so wholesome. And when he angrily asks Furuya if he was admiring his tire technique all this time and Furuya just said yes I almost died. Furuya is just baseball Todoroki…he’s clueless 😂😂💕 Chris is just such a great senpai. When he yelled and his voice cracked I died! And I have so many mixed feelings about what Zaizen is doing. In one hand, I hate him bc his hurting or precious Chris but on the other he’s technically not doing anything dirty…he’s only exploiting the other’s team weakness within the rules of the game. It reminds me of when Ushiwaka spiked directly into Tsukki’s hurt finger…like I hated him for it but it made kind of sense to do it so idk what to think. Hearing VA roles that are nothing alike is always so shocking. Would have never guessed that Sawamura and Akaashi shared one. One that makes more sense is that Furuya shares Haru’s from Free! That’s a little more like it 😂😂

Yes, this show somehow is staying like what I expect a shonen Sports Anime to be, but at the same time subverting some of my expectations, which I'm all about! And yes, Sawamura may come across as dense to some things, but I love his respect for other players, which includes Haruichi and of course, CHRIS-SENPAI. "Furuya is baseball Todoroki" -- OMG! I was trying to find a way to describe him, and that's it. That's the description! He's passionate, but in a very distant, introverted, blunt way! I really like his foil to Sawamura in this! And then, yes, Chris just making me feel all the things! Yeah, Zaizen is an interesting antagonist in this; I'm very curious to see him up against Chris in all this, now. Plus, it's funny you mention Haikyuu -- I just learned (in these comments) that Chris and Oikawa have the same VA and that has SENT me! I just love the all star cast this series has and how people I didn't expect to voice are in this. :3 This show is definitely getting better and better and I can't wait to see more! :D
