Oh, hey, have you met Nanase Haruka? Our magical demisexual dolphin who swims majestically and can conquer angst?! Haha, in all seriousness though, it was wonderful this episode to see not only Mako and Asahi show their faith in Haruka and his swimming prowess, but also see Ikuya FINALLY come around!

The theme of everyone being a "hero" to someone was so wonderful -- not only that Haru could be Ikuya's hero, but that Ikuya discovered HE was someone's hero as well! The friendship was FIRE this episode and we still have FOUR episodes of the season to go!? INSANITY!

I love the character development this show has and how each one of them deals with it in a different way (although they are all connected to Haru). Also, it's funny that you said Makoto is best bf/parental figure because in 2013 he won the "Sexiest anime character" and "who would you like as your boyfriend" (or something like that) hahaha so yep, Mako is a sexy af cinnamon roll we all love and must protect. I love the concept of "hero" they gave here, not as the one that fights crime but the type who inspires others. I think that is a way more realistic definition and someone can really relate irl. It´s so nice every time Mikoshiba appears, just listening to TsudaKen´s voice is a blessing for my ears. Can´t wait for you to meet the other characters and see your reaction, have a good week!

I LOVE THIS EPISODE. I think it might be my favorite in the whole anime. It also has some of my favorites scenes: Ikuya hugging Haru after realizing he remembers their promise, Mako calling Haru his hero and, of course, Ikuya teasing Asahi with his “I am a genius” mantra. Makoto is just the best. I want a Mako in my life ! 💕💕 I especially loved when he and the others pushed Ikuya to fix fences with Hiyori. It shows what we knew all along, their intentions to speaking with Ikuya were only pure hearted. They just wanted what was best for him. Natsuya’s new dream of competing again with a proper team and everything and not just for money made me realize that maybe the reason why he distanced himself from Ikuya and swimming might be that he’s actually kind of scared and jealous of Ikuya. Ikuya has so much natural talent that it would be understandable that he rather leave the world of swimming behind than eventually be defeated by his little brother. At first glance, the scene where Kissumi’s asks Hiyori to join his club seems like an easter egg of the movie. But I think Hiyori’s “maybe” has a deeper meaning. It symbolizes that after swimming with Haru and Ikuya, Hiyori is finally opening himself to others. I can’t believe it’s almost over!!! We need the movie ASAP ! 😭😭

The character development and interactions in this show are what make me love it the most! Seeing these characters come together in this episode, the growth in our boy Haru, and how Ikuya and Hiyori have their entire worlds turned upside down in one episode was soooooo rewarding! This was definitely a cheer-worthy episode all around! And YES, Mako is our sexy af cinnamon roll/top husbando material -- I am not surprised he won that poll! And the "hero" analogy and how both Ikuya and Haru are heroes to more than one person? **chef's kiss** It was definitely a nice realistic moment! And ha! Anytime I can hear Tsuda's voice is a gift to the ears, indeed! Oh, and there's STILL MORE NEW CHARACTERS TO MEET! hahaha, I'm so excited! Thanks for the kind words and have a good week, too!

I am personally in STARK denial that we are nearing the end of Free! Nope, still have five more weeks...(4 episodes and a movie)...and then we have two more movies to look forward to, so seeeee? It's not over! *nervous laugh* This episode was AMAZING! It's one of my favorites of this season and maybe the anime, too! Promises kept, friendships mended, and new friendships formed! That's a great note about Hiyori and Kisumi at the end; besides it being humorous, he really was opening up to someone, which is SUCH a big step in progress! The Ikuya tease to Asahi was so savage and wonderful -- I absolutely loved it! I think that makes sense with Natsuya! Natsuya strikes me as the "has to work for it" type whereas it comes naturally to Ikuya...interesting! And Mako, top husbando material, indeed! Mako is literally best boy for reaching out to Hiyori and also to help encourage Ikuya to mend the fence as well. *sigh* I love our swim boys! This episode felt like a season finale, but we still have four more episodes! I'm so excited!

Four episodes left and I feel like there is still so much that's going to happen. XD Naos look at Natsuya hasn't changed a bit since middle school. The love on his face. I love the conversation between Makoto and Hiyori. It shows even more what an amazing person Makoto is. That even after Hiyori was such a jerk he still reached out for him. The character developments are one of the best things in free. They often take a while and it doesn't come out of nowhere. It's so nice to watch them grow. And Haru's growth is still one of my favourites. He has come so far. The race was amazing. The hug and to see Ikyua smile like that again. Also Ikuya teasing Asahi was wonderful. The conversations between Hiyori and Ikyua was so nice and needed. This episode made me so happy. I really like the concept of "Hero" in this episode and how they portrayed it. Tere are a lot of characters that look up to Haru but all in a different way. Natsuya did nothing but at least he came to terms with swimming. XD But I guess he still learned from this experience that he shouldn't put all the responsibilities to others. I didn't knew I need a conversation between Kisumi and Hiyori. I feel like this has such a big meaning for Hiyoris character. That he learned to come out more to other people. Sometimes it makes me sad that a lot of people see free just as a series full of fanservice even though it has so many good themes in it. And they also portrayed these wonderful. SERIOUSLY! This felt like a season finale, but we still have FOUR episodes left! It's insanity to me!! And yessss, Nao and Natsuya just need to become official. For real. Mako is just best boy. I LOVE the conversation with him and Hiyori -- there could have been such angst and hostility there, but Mako ain't about that life. :) And YES! 100% true -- it's the main reason I love this series -- the character growth over time is so genuine and EARNED. I love how much Haru's grown in this show; it's wonderful! Seeing Ikuya warm back to his true self this episode was so pure! And from him teasing Asahi to him re-forging his bond with Hiyori; it's like we're seeing the real Ikuya for the first time in this show and I love it! And the concept of the "hero" was just perfectly executed this episode with Haru and Ikuya both. And Natsuya! Ahahahaha! He just skirts away doing the bare minimum! It's a good thing he's a lovable character! :P And speaking of lovable, Kisumi is just the best. I love that he pulls Hiyori out of his shell...Hiyori making a friend with Kisumi is such a step in the right direction! And I cannot express how much I've come to love this series, and I wish more people would watch it from start to finish because it's just so wholesome, pure, and wonderful! :3 Thank you for the kind words and have a wonderful day as well!
