The season finale hath given us answers, more questions (of course), WangXian moments, and a teaser for the third season that has me HYPED!

So much suspicion! So much excitement moving forward! And still...some unanswered questions that will be lingering all summer until we get Season 3! I am READY, y'all! And we still have plenty more MDZS content to get through in the meantime!

I hope you enjoy the reaction and thank you for the support!

Great reactions! You should check out the novel if you're interested, some things were changed and plenty of things were cut out due to censorship.

I just love that wandering hand XD Saw a couple of beautiful fics featuring it, as well. "A matter at hand", for real. Our local Sherlock! Laying out all the evidence and logical assumptions, so that Nie Huaisang can't block them. A bit of a rushed episode again, not much in term of explanations and yet I think it's the perfect bridge to the next season. Chibi WangXian meeting is not in the book canon but it's so freaking sweet I'm ready to believe it. Baby Wei Ying was not left in any village, though, that was just some backstreet of the town, so Fengmian found him after all. Speaking of the book, one of the extras has the dialog that corresponds with buying a toy in this episode: "Try asking me again and see if I will deny you anything". Coming from Wangji, of course, it relays in few words the big change Wangji had over the years that passed. From denying even the possibility of trying resentful energy to do good, to telling the juniors "The sword is just a tool, it's the hand that wields it that matters". From turning away from annoyingly bright and loud Wei Ying to running after him, towards him. From scolding him against the smallest prank to indulging him in unnecessary pleasures, like buying toys. It's not that Wangji renounced his whole self and teachings of his family for this, no. If Wei Ying goes corrupt again, Wangji will stand against him as always. But small things, a joint adventure, family feelings... not gonna deny him that, whoever's watching! BTW, did someone already scream at you to watch s3 trailer that came out 4 days ago? I hope they did XD Young man in Lan clothing at the ED art is Lan Sizhui, one of the named juniors. Su She is unremembered again! Of course Wangji would not pay attention to the likes of him. And poor Su She tried to imitate him at the Biling lake, with sending the sword down... Yi city teaser gives me chills. When reading, you get this arc just after the first Cloud Recesses flashback, some happy times and beginnings... and then you get thrown into a downright horror movie, as you can see from all the mists and corpses. I admit, I laughed too much at the book from the beginning as it exploits many of cliches that you can recognize from yaoi fanfiction. Well. Not after that arc, for a long time. You recognized Suibian perfectly! It makes sense that some of Wei Ying's things end up as the keepsakes for war heroes. Yet it looks like Yao keeps not only that! Qi deviation is one of the widespread wuxia/xianxia cliches, yep. Mainly it happens because of going the wrong way in cultivating or trying to gobble up too much power. Strong emotions and passions make it happen worse and faster, of course. As the humoristic reference, it's used in phrases like "I've made Old man Lan so angry, he looked like he's about to have Qi deviation. He even coughed up some blood right there!". Uhh, I can't even decide what to recommend you do first, the Untamed or the book! Obviously, I'm the book fan and prefer to see that view be embedded in my fandom buddies' minds but that can be difficult for a stream format, of course. Still, the Untamed doesn't deviate that much, it has a few rogue story lines but all the big drama and reveals are the same, so it depends on the form you prefer to get your story in, I'll reluctantly say. I mean, you won't get big emotions from book in terms of story turns if you read it after the live action, mainly it's more Wangxian and introspection. And different Wangxian, their dynamics is what changes the most. On the other hand, live action will lose some of those emotional rollercoaster moments as well, if you read the book before, become more nostalgic and difference-seeking-oriented, and I totally wouldn't want you to lose on that front! In the meantime, Q is perfectly safe as it doesn't deal with drama story points. At all. It's just poof! - Wei Ying is alive! Poof! He's Yiling Patriarch again! Well, there is one tiny episode that kinda deals with that, but otherwise it's like fillers for our hearts.

WuXian Suibian

Nie Haisaung likes to play dumb, to play the innocent, even when is not. He hides behind these traits as he hides behind his fan. (Beware of a man with a Fan). We were shown his personality way back in season one. Now that LWJ knows that Mo XuanYu is Wei Ying their interactions are so different and of course LWJ is now calling him Wei Ying. LWJ has such sift expressions now when speaking to WWX and he smiles. What I love is WWX has so many sides to his personality - the gremlin, the flirt, the serious. This episode has one of my favorite scenes...the scene in the clearing with LWJ kneeling in front of WWX expression his support. LWJ has always believed in WWX. "HIs path is uncommon, but his deeds righteous. For sentiment or reason he deserves gratitude." (Episode 2, season 1). I am right there with you, after hearing the Original Chinese version of the Donghua I find it hard to listen to the Japanese dub. I am glad you are enjoying Chinese Donghua. A couple quick recommendations - King's Avatar (E-sports Donghua), Link Click (This oneis new and on Fumimation), and of course Heaven Official's Blessing.

OMG I second every single one of your three donghua recommendations!!!

As Lan Xichen said to Wuxian once in the book “I told him (Wangji) when I went to see him, Young Master Wei had already made a grave mistake, there was no use augmenting it. But he said… that he could not say with certainty whether what you did was right or wrong, but no matter what, he was willing to be responsible for all of the consequences alongside you.” Wangji would never stand against Wuxian, even in a crucial situation like losing control over resentful energy. After all the tragic events, he will never counteract him or try changing Wuxian’s opinion of demonic cultivation. Wangji will just simply devote himself to protecting Wuxian at all costs.
