The early 90s animation. It hasn't aged too well lol Speaking of animation, ever since I started watching anime reactions I noticed people complaining about "spoilers" in openings and endings. That's what I really don't understand. Take Slam Dunk for example. What was spoilery about it? That the show will have more than 2 characters? That they will play basketball? What exactly was spoiled? Anyone who hasn't read manga wouldn't recognize any single character. Like Mitsui, or Maki. Also people forget that anime adaptations are done for popular manga. Slam Dunk been out for 3 years when the adaptation started to air. It got adopted because it was popular. Obviously those who watch it would've already read the manga anyway. We're speaking domestic market here. During the "golden age" of Shonen Jump when all the kids would read it every week. And who watches shonen anime? Those same kids who read the manga. There were at least 10 people per class who would buy Shonen Jump or any other popular weekly magazine each week. Then the issues would get passed around. If anything those openings were just pure hype. "Wow, Maki really is dark skinned! Damn, Sakuragi jumps high!" Same for HxH. Especially the remake. So many people kept telling reactors to skip intros and outros till all the characters get properly introduced, but why? What's wrong with seeing new faces and getting teased with what's to come, especially since main audience (Japanese) would've read the manga many times over already, and maybe even watched the first version of adaptation? World of reactions is weird lol Openings and endings become iconic songs with iconic imagery after watching full series. I can still sing part of Sailormoon opening, though I can't say I really watched it. Most people my age can. Their siblings would've watched it at the very least. With Slam Dunk, the first op is very iconic. The first ed is sang by Ohguro Maki, an extremely well known star of the 90s. Zard sang one of the op too. Very famous. So when one hears those songs they remember the imagery from animation with extra nostalgia. Something they wouldn't really get if they kept skipping "spoilery" stuff. Which spoils nothing in my opinion. Btw, the lyrics to the ed will not pass modern day politically correct censorship lol. It's about a girl who tries very hard to be what her boyfriend wants her to be because she's just that deep in love. The title is "You are all I look at". There's even a self aware line "go dreamless girl!". Just a trivia.

Growing up in the 90's, I find a certain charm in the classic anime of that period...but yes, some parts haven't aged so well; I didn't even NOTICE the lyrics there until you pointed it out...oh wow... @_@ Hmm. Hahaha! You bring up a great point about the whole original point of anime, to adapt the manga. And if you were a manga reader, it wouldn't "spoil" you seeing these characters, because you'd already read about them! My thoughts were if you hadn't read the manga, and wasn't sure like with a character Mitsui, seeing him with his hair cut short might lessen the impact of that moment in the actual episode...but that's a tiny moment; I really like the OP; thank you for the information on it! And YES, I did not realize how tanned Maki was until I watched this anime...also, Maki could basically get a modeling endorsement if the whole basketball thing doesn't pan out! ;) Thank you so much for the comment and information!

I was watching your reaction to the manga and suggested their that you react to the anime as I still find it really great even the animation part, joined here only to find out that you already reacted to the anime :D. I think it's just me but I love the 90s animation, also whenever I watch old anime or movies I will give them some slack compared to today's shows.

Thank you so much for joining on here! I really appreciate it! And yes, there was many discrepancies with budgets, etc. for shows in the 90's and I have a soft spot for 90's nostalgia, so I give them some slack, too! Thank you for the patronage and the comment!! :D
