NOTE: I talk about the core-melting of Cheng because I recorded this before Episode 12 came out. Thanks for clarifying this with me back with Episode 12! ^^

Y'all....Y'ALL! I was not ready for: Ambushes! Alliances! Reunions! Water Ouji boards!? THE SYMBOLISM in the end scene?!

We only have two episodes left of season one, and there is still so much left unanswered...don't spoil me, though! I'm so hyped to hopefully find out in the show!

I hope you all enjoy the reaction and thank you for the support!

WuXian Suibian

A LOT happens in this episode. Story pace picks up from here so, take a deep breath. Wei Wuxian looks so tired, worn down as he sits waiting from Jiang Cheng to return from the getting "his" core back. Those dark circles under his eyes. You can eve hear his breathing as he sits there. Something is not right with WWX. Yes, it is very sus that the core melting had looks perplexed after hitting WWX to melt his core. Poor LWJ looking so worried and sad for WWX this whole episode. This is where we really start to see his feelings for WWX and that he has soften towards our chaotic gremlin. WWX absorbing the the resentful energy, is a pretty badass scene. For some reason the "red maple" leaves that we seen as WWXs flash back begins when he sees his adoptive parents I think there is meaning behind those. The only thing I have found is that red maple leaves represent honor and "moving up to a higher authority or status" Not sure how those relate to his flashback. Maybe there is a deeper meaning that what I have found. The producers of MDZS are very good at hiding subtle visual symbolism in the animation. Of course when WWX remembers the destruction of the Lotus Pier and the Jiang clam he finds his resolve to accept the resentful energy. Can't wait for your reactions to the last 2 episodes.

Right?! SO MUCH went down...it has me really curious to read the novel, because I feel some of those quiet moments with WuXian just sitting around might be better explained! He looks SO tired...yeah, something is definitely not right with him and I'm SO SUS about the core-melting hand! Hmmm....mysteries, mysteries... Wangji's lamenting over not finding WuXian yet is SO sad! Our stoic boy has softened and realized he likes our chaotic gremlin and now is nowhere to be found...getting major Banana Fish vibes and so I'm hoping it doesn't go that route! Hahaha! The red maple leaves -- I wondered if that was symbolizing WuXian's family or that he was "moving on up" when he was adopted into the Jiang clan? Hmmm...and yes, the subtle symbolism has been so good in this show, and I took it like you did -- WuXian said he wasn't going to let the resentful energy in him again...BUT then you had: * His foster parents being killed practically in front of him * His foster brother having a literal meltdown and relying on him to regain his power * Getting hit by the core-melting hand and LITERALLY getting stabbed in the chest * Getting thrown off a cliff into a vat of resentful energy AND this whole time, he's also consumed with wanting to get vengeance against the Wen's for the awful things they've done to him and his family...yeah....he's definitely found resolve to accept the resentful energy...and it has me so excited/nervous for these last two episodes (that I'm going to hunker down and watch this week -- wish me luck!)!

Any information about Baoshan Sanren's students and teachings can be considered as spoilers at the moment, because in the 3rd season we will meet another one of her disciples, who will probably talk more about their seclution from the rest of the world. So the lack of information about that place (and how Cheng got his core back) is completely understandable. Not the donghua's fault, lol. The more you get to know Wangji, the more clearly you see his hidden emotions - this applies to both live-action drama and donghua, in my opinion. He's changed and will continue to change, because the way he behaves now is still just a beginning of his development. T_T Wangji's part of the story is no less tragic than Wuxian's. Thank you for reaction!

Ooooh!! *rubs hands with anticipation* That has me VERY excited for Season 3! :D At least they're playing it smart by leaving the mystery to get us excited for Season 3! Yay! And Wangji, we're just peeling back the layers with him and his hidden emotions...ahhh...I'm scared if his story is as tragic as WuXian's **nervous laugh** but we shall see, eh? Thank you for the kind words and comment!
