We made it through January, 2021, y'all! ^_^

To celebrate, I decided to react to this feature-length BL anime, based on a light novel, that looked interesting from our discord chat on Patreon! 

Overall, I really enjoyed this! Kei's personality and the metaphors, symbolism with personas and other aspects were interesting to say the least! I'm curious of your thoughts on this as well -- it definitely made me want to check out the light novels.

THANK YOU for introducing this movie to me! I’d never even heard of it before, I’m so ashamed of myself... but real talk THIS WAS SO WHOLESOME. I low-key teared-up. BL’s rarely ever provoke these kinds of emotions from me. You usually get the typical top/bottom dynamics with no real substance added except for the sexy times just to satisfy us thirsty ass fans. (Guilty) So this deeper theme of not being afraid to take off your mask and be vulnerable to others was SO REFRESHING. 8/10 for me (wish it were longer) PS: That love scene at the end threw me for a fricken loop I WAS SHOOK. I kept pausing every two seconds to scream into my pillow! PSS: I agree that I’m not the biggest fan of rushing sex scenes in BL which is why this one surprised me so much, I never even saw it coming. However if I interpreted the ending correctly I do believe Kei gave permission. When he said “he didn’t want it”. I think he was just teasing Tsuzuki. Hense why Tsuzuki paused for a second. Realized he was messing with him (Like putting on another fake performance/ mask) and said “You’re really evil.” So yeah all consensual. BUT BL rlly needs to stop putting “no” in their dialogue it gives off the wrong impression.

2021-10-19 03:51:10 Don't be ashamed! ^^ I would not have known about it if Wu on Discord hadn't pointed it out!! I really enjoyed this, too, especially the aspects of vulnerability (like you said) and putting on literal and metaphorical masks -- with everything going on in 2020 and now into 2021, it felt very....relevant. :) And I wish it had been longer, too; maybe gave more time to build up to that last scene, haha!! Because it took me by total surprise, as well! Plus, there's multiple light novels, so surely there was so more scenes they could have added in. Ah well. Going back and re-watching, I think there was some definite teasing going on -- I can see it being consensual if that's the case! But I wholeheartedly agree!! Teasing is fine, but make sure it's known or find another way to across the teasing without the word "no" throwing things off! >.< But overall, I really liked this -- especially the new take on having it be a news anchor and the animator...that alien animation at the end was ADORABLE. ^^ I'm glad you liked it!
