So, I've been since informed that performing the demonic arts is basically like going to the "dark side;" definitely going to note that in Episode 5. However, this episode was great for setting up all kinds of things: WuXian's slow leaning towards the demonic arts, Wangji's contradictory nature around WuXian, The elder Lan son, and setting up the issue with the Wen Clan! Hmmm... *strokes chin* Interesting, indeed!

Thank you all for watching and for the support!

Day 9 of wondering how to join Romania’s discord...

romaniablack

Oh no!! That's so weird! I've just sent you a message with a link to the discord! Apologies that it didn't automatically let you in! Thank you for all the support!!

WuXian Suibian

Lan XiChen (Lan Wanji's older brother) is the best wingman bringing Wei Wuxian and encouraging their relationship. "You want the fruit." Hmm that could be taken a different way. Wei Wuxian looks at the world so differently than those around him. He is willing to step out of the boundaries, the constraints of tradition, and he sees the possibilities. His motives and intentions are good, they're righteous in his own way.

Yesss, I really love XiChen already! Hahaha! Hmmmm, perhaps it could be taken a different way, eh? ^^ Yes, WuXian is definitely thinking outside the box and is total opposite from Wangji, trying to look at multiple ways of doing things his own way while also having good intentions...he's a unique protagonist, to be sure! Such a chaotic gremlin, and I'm really enjoying his antics so far!

Amy Chang

ah yes, gotta love that wholesomeness in the last part of the episode XD It's interesting how you see each character's values in this episode when it comes to the cultivation world, as justice being "black and white" is a really big theme in this show.

I like how the show really doesn't "beat you over the head" with the symbolism or themes -- yeah, so me of them are easier to pull out, but I like that they assume you'll "get it" as you watch -- and the idea of how we view justice being one of them! I really like it -- and of course, the antics of Wei WuXian making Wangji uncomfortable are just wonderful to watch! :D Thanks for the comment!
