NEW REACTION LINK: https://share.vidyard.com/watch/DMAdnSnvptozXxpVvfqjci?

Three words described my overall reaction to this episode: "Oh. My. God."

I think I said them a dozen times in this reaction, but so much left me speechless in this episode: The reveal about how much deeper the Banana Fish mystery is going, Eiji's decisions, GOLZINE'S DECISIONS and role in all this, and finally the set up for the next episode.

There's a sense of desperation I'm starting to feel in the air...and I don't like it.

But I'm glad you're watching the Full Length reaction with me! Thank you for the support!

When I tell you I exist only to see your Banana Fish and MDZS reactions, I’m not exaggerating.

Aww, thank you so much for the kind words! ^^ I'm going to be INCREDIBLY sad when Banana Fish ends...I know we have a while for MDZS since there's two seasons (and a 3rd coming later this year), but I'm trying to soak in Banana Fish while I can! :D

I was waiting for your reaction to flirtatious Ash. LOL. We've seen him pull that card out before in the prison. He'll do whatever he needs to do to survive. And yes Yuma Uchida nailed that performance. Its no wonder he is getting more an more VA work. The character dynamics in this show are so interesting and convoluted, which is exactly what gives it BF so much depth to it. All these character have different motives and yet they get tangled up in each other. Poor Eiji really does not have the "skills" to deal with the types of people he was found himself entangled with. While Ash grew up around them and has the skills, but Eiji's presence had blurred the lines for him. I wish anime watchers could get past the "BL" issue and see Banana Fish for what it is as a story. It is so different than so many of the anime out there. It makes you think and question the character's motives. In this way it reminds me of Vinland Saga that had such depth of charcter.

Ooooh, Ash, flirty Ash....they DID say he was 20,000 a night. I guess word gets around. XD That boy -- doing what he has to! YES! Now, all I can think of is Fushigoro with that voice and.....hm. That just doesn't sit right! Hahaha!! Eiji is really out of his element with all of these manipulative, snake-like, and downright evil characters (Golzine, Dragon Moon, etc.). I feel so bad for him, and just want him and Ash to reunite! And yessss, this show is SO DARN GOOD -- I can't believe more people aren't watching and raving about it. Also, I've heard of Vinland Saga, but it wasn't something that immediately sparked interest. But it's good?

Its hard not to heard Fushigoru but I also hear Uenoyama at times too when his voice gets soft and loving. Yes, Vinland Saga is good, its not all about the action. The characters have good depth and the over all themes of the show are thought provoking. I will say the MC, Thorfinn, does not have a ton of character development in the first season but everything thing that happens will (I am sure) lead to character develop. There are two Main "side characters" that have a complexity and depth to them that keeps you invested in the story. *** Spoiler*** The entire first season is JUST the Prologue to the real story of the manga.

That's so cool about Vinland Saga! I may have to put that on a poll eventually -- I wasn't sure about it, but your description has me intrigued! And ahhhh, I forget he ALSO voiced Uenoyama. Hmmm...man, running the spectrum with his voicework! Yeah, now I have Fushigoro/Yuuji and Uenoyama/Sato vibes going -- even though Sato and Yuuji are sooooo very, very different. It's funny how a VA can do that. But some can make you forget who all they voice. I forget, for example, that Tsukishima's VA is the one doing Shindo in Run With the Wind, because his acting for Shindo is SO different. I love it.

And he is also Kiyo from Fruits Basket 2019 and Chika from Kono Oto Tomare! as well. He plays a lot of "similar" characters. Kiyo and Chika both had that angst, angry, delinquent feel to them. Ash runs the spectrum from angry to soft sensitive, Fushigoru is similar since I seen him as very introspective; Uenoyama can be emotionally explosive (in a different way to Ash/Fushigoru) but sensitive as well. Did you know Yuma Uchida has his own singing career?

romaniablack

Ooohh!! I did not realize he did Kiyo too!! Wow -- he voices some of my favorites from those shows; that's perfect. And he captures that range of emotions as well! Mannn...I also did not know he had a singing career, but a lot of Japanese VA's do, right?

He has his own youtube channel...https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmJ5vFSQcyoeUwV0gq_kVJA

Ooooooh! Thank you!! I listened to this and can soooo hear flirty Ash! ^^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdBDYfyzbq4 That is great!! I love seeing videos where the Haikyuu cast sings; this just adds to it!
