The ED is truly amazing (I’m a keen runner myself so I listen to Reset all the time on my playlist) and honestly the visuals always get me a lil emotional as someone who has experience with people with injuries it just hits home how far Haiji has come and has to go Everything with Shindo and King was fantastic this episode. Like I said before King I found difficult to grasp his character and this episode does such a good job of starting his depth as a person. And the same with Shindo too! The show does such a good job of not just giving one off episodes to a character and then don’t focus on them again. So much more to come with everyone and can’t wait for you to experience it. The continued drip feed of Haiji’s backstory continues!! I would call the show a tease but it’s incredibly realistic to a character like Haiji. He’s not just gunna bring down his walls but he is very honest, warm soul and is not ashamed of his injury, physically and mentally. The fact that in the very first episode we see his scar and might think he will try and hide it or brush it off for sake of drama for the show, but no, instead he immediately tells Kakeru and us the audience the truth that he got in high school and he’s almost back to how he was. Nico’s observation line of the sparkle in his eye always gets me. He’s a true dreamer. And you are absolutely right! I could watch a whole episode of him and Kakeru talking in the kitchen easily! And speaking of THAT scene oh boiiiiiiii it’s dripping with foreshadowing and I bloody love it. Also Yuki and Prince’s interaction this ep slays me everytime 😄 “Not with your legs”

2021-10-19 03:59:36 Yes! I absolutely LOVE this ED! <3 I love how we get focus on the friendship between Shindo and King -- it was hinted at in the beginning of the show, but the focus here is just so sweet! ^^ "Continued drip feed" is SO accurate! I love that they are throwing us Haiji backstory crumbs but I will take all I can get!! I love that he isn't afraid to talk about his injury, but he's not flaunting it all over the place and letting it bring him down. YES, that very first episode we got it about Haiji right off the bat, and it just makes me hungry to know more about him!! Ahhhh....foreshadowing......I cannot WAIT! **Hype intensifies** and Prince continues to maybe be my second favorite character after Haiji. I just love him! <3 Thanks for the comment!

We are slowly peeling away the layers of these characters. I love the depth these characters have as individuals and as a collective. It just keep getting better as the story progresses. Because of their depth I feel like you would meet anyone of these characters in real life. As Kakeru said he is bad at communicating and expressing himself, which makes him awkward when it comes to relationships. As he opens up through the show, we begin to see more and more of his true character. During his conversations with Haiji they challenge each other, about their idles about running and what running means to each of them. Both of them are or have been high level runners at one point, they have the unique perspective to know the reality and challenges that the rest of the team face. Haiji comes at those challenges from the perspective of his dream and his outgoing beliefs that they can do it, but he is also realistic (he's had to be with his injury). Kakeru comes at the same challenges but with less of an opportunistic view. Both have been hurt by RUNNING in the past, Kakeru from the mental/emotion isolation from his high school team and Haiji from his knee injury. I love their dynamic (and yeah kind of ship them). Shindo is second best boy next to Haiji. He the first one (other than Haiji) to begin to believe in the team and to begin to put effort for the team's success not just in running by organizing the fund raiser. This a role he seems to take up easily in this episode. We start ti get the first thawing of Yuki's icy interest in the team and running. As you said so much development in this episode.

YES! These characters already feel so real and genuine! I think what I'm looking forward to most, besides getting more pieces of Haiji's story to put together, is for Kakeru to hopefully come out of his shell and for him and Haiji to grow closer together...I can definitely see how Haiji likes Kakeru, so that ship is making sense to me! Haha!) --I am going to talk about this in a later video, but I really like the contrasting that is showing between these two protagonists. Also, Shindo is suuuuch a sweetheart! I love him in these last few episodes! And YES! Yuki's icy heart melting towards running?! *SWOON* Thank you for the comment!!
