Eiji is just clueless and naive, but we love him. He is the perfect foil to life hardened Ash. Ash trusts Eiji. Ash is a survivor. He'll do anything he needs to do to survive. He went along with the Garvey because he knew he's wind up in the infirmary, which allows him to get the capsule that he passes on to Eiji. He was thinking multiple steps ahead him this game.

I definitely love the foil between Eiji's naivety and Ash's hardcore survival persona. It was SO satisfying to see the lead up from Ash getting the pill, to putting the note in, to the kiss, and to Eiji figuring it out...it's just a shame Eiji is so naive! Now, I have to see what happens in Episode 4...ahhhh...*nervous laughter intensifies* Thank you for the comment! I love that this cat and mouse game is so insane right from the start!
