2021-10-19 04:02:53 Not surprised this won. people like to spread the emotions around. Hang on for a ride. There are some dark themes in this so don't be surprised. Ibe and Eiji are just what they seem a writer his assistant. The original manga was released in 1986 and the art style reflects the art from that time period more. For the anime they updated the story and locations. They moved to the Iraq war not Vietnam, they added today's technology (cell phones, computers, etc.) Some of the manga fans were not happy with the updates, but I think they're fine and allow today's viewer to be more engaged in the story. MAPPA was production studio. They produced Yuri on Ice, The God of High School, Doror, the the Final season of AOT and many others. Check out the list of their other works. https://myanimelist.net/anime/producer/569/MAPPA The OP song was the song they played at the end of this episode is called "Found & Lost" performed by Survive Said the Prohet. The full OP with visuals will be shown in episode 2. Its sort of spoilerish with out really being spoilerish. They also perform the 2nd ED as well. FYI, the JD sailinger Short Story they mentioned is called "A Perfect Day for a Banana Fish." Many of the episode title are titles for a stories by American Authors - F Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Wolfe, etc.

Thanks for the clarification on Eiji! That was the only part of the episode I was slightly confused on, but re-watching, I got it now! And I can tell this is going to go some dark places...no spoilers, but I'm hoping to brace myself. *nervous laugh* Okay, that makes SO much more sense about the manga being from the 80's with the twist! I really love Yuri on Ice (haven't seen the other anime yet) but the quality on this show is off the charts; I love it! And I'm excited to see the OP and ED with the next episode! Ooooh, if that's the case with the episode titles, I will be a very happy person -- I'm an English major, so this should be fun! Thanks for the info!
