2024 State of the Author Address (Patreon)

Happy New Year!  

The idea to do a state of the author address has been rattling around in my head now. Here's where I'm going to self report on myself, my work, and my plans for 2024.   

Myself: I bought a gym membership in 2023 so I could play racquetball, and that's been working well. At the beginning of the year, the people there were worried I might have a heart attack. I've since lost 11 lbs and they're slightly less worried...or they've given up caring.

Physically, I'm much improved. Mentally, holding steady. Got some major expenditures looming over the horizon but I'm hoping to conquer them handily.  

My work: I'm going to try to finish Industrial Strength Magic. I don't wanna be known as that guy who doesn't finish his series. I have a rough idea of a concept for another book after the dragon one, though it's not really refined well.  

After that is done, I'm probably spent on ISM. Do not be alarmed though, it might take all of 2024 to make that happen.  After that, I want to put a satisfying end on The Stitched Worlds and Wake of the Ravager.  

After THAT! (possibly 2-5 years from now)

I wanna write either a gritty revenge series as my magnum opus, or a simple, stupid Tower Climber as a break from thinking. Both of those sound fun to me.

Immediate Plans: I plan on releasing book 1 of Industrial Strength Magic on Kindle Unlimited at the end of January, and to that end, I also plan on releasing a chapter a day on Royalroad to psych people up. Starting today.

I will also be editing book 2 and that cuts into my writing time a bit, so expect the ~2ch. weeks to continue through January.

What does this mean for you?  

$10: gradual loss of chapter lead, as I can't do 1 ch. per day because I'm a weak little baby unlike Warby Picus or Rinoz. I will eventually regrow this lead, don't worry.  

$5: A strong start, but eventually you'll catch up to present..maybe by 4 days to a week. It will then slip out of your hands again in a couple months.  

$1: CHAPTERS BABBYYYYYYY

As usual, $1 subscribers get the moment in the spotlight during a chapter dump.



TLDR: Author losing weight (healthy weight loss), Chapter dump January (For RR), 1 more ISM book after this, Kindle release ISM 1 at end of month, editing #2 will delay chapters somewhat.
